Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A very comfortable stay and a wonderfully convenient location in Bourke St. The best two features were the spaciousness of the rooms and being able to keep the room dark so that we could have a long, undisturbed sleep-in. The bed and especially the pillows were extremely comfortable. I also liked the separate WIR, where bags could be stowed out of the way and you didn’t have to feel like you were living out of a suitcase. Breakfast was served in the ground floor dining area and included a generous buffet. There was the usual array of breakfast cereals, breads, fruit, and hot foods but also omelettes to order and eggs Benedict. It is worth noting that you have to be a member to book here, or have a friend who is member. Overall, a lovely stay at the RACV and I’d happily recommend it.

The RACV City Club is a luxury hotel in the center of Melbourne. The facilities are first-class, and include dining for guests. Parking is available. It's well suited for international and interstate guests. My mother always stays here and has been very satisfied.

In a good location with plenty of amenities including a health centre with a great pool. The dining area is large and spacious and the rooms, although a little small were very comfortable. The only problem we found as a group was temporary parking outside the hotel for a small coach as there were public parking spaces that were usually occupied. This isn't a problem if you are not travelling as a group.

Attended with a business colleague. The staff were welcoming and friendly. We ate at the bistro and found the food excellent. A decent selection of good wines. I look forward to trying their main restaurant next time. I will return. A touch of sophistication in the CBD.

Great location on Bourke St. Staff very (actually always) friendly and polite. Food snd service excellent. I have had breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee etc here across every restaurant and cannot ever fault a single thing. Accommodation is great - rooms well appointed and spacious - oh try to get an upgrade to level 8 - you won’t be disappointed. All in all and exceptional place.

My husband and I have been members for 30 years. Our last visit was fraught with issues. From check in to check out. Firstly, my husband was denied access to our room as I had made the booking and not him. He was left for several hours sitting in his car until such time as I was contacted to grant his access to the room. Secondly, the next morning we were rudely interrupted not once but twice by thehouse keeping staff who barged in to the room unannounced. On our departure we made the staff aware of our concerns. We were made to feel like second class citizens because we had the audacity to mention our concerns . We were also guaranteed that we would be contacted by senior members of staff re our complaints. A written complaint also went unanswered. Surprise, surprise!! We are still waiting for someone to contact us. For the money we have paid over the years one has to wonder whether it is worthwhile. The Club has sadly lost its sparkle

The RACV Club is a great place to stay, my mother always stayed there when she visited Melbourne. The RACV Club is equivalent to a four-star hotel. It has all the facilities you could want, including an upper crust restaurant. We visited recently for a function, the food and service were first class. The RACV Club is conveniently located in Bourke St, the heart of Melbourne.

A fantastic place to stay in Melbourne. The front desk and all the staff we encountered were polite and helpful. The rooms were lovely, luxurious and tastefully designed. The room space was very spacious, with a king size bed and fluffy pillows. The furnishings in the room were very smart and well maintained. The RACV was an easy walk for us and close to the shops and suited our needs perfectly. Would definitely visit again.

We stayed here for four nights on a Rediscover Melbourne promotion. Upgraded to a King Suite with access to the Retreat level. Spacious suite with separate bedroom but limited natural light. Service at both the front desk and the Retreat was excellent. Had room service dinner several nights which worked well. Service in the bistro for breakfast was variable. Also had a family dinner in the bistro one night but both the meals and service could be improved. Inconsistent information about club eating options (hours, menus etc) provided between the RACV website, in room screen and staff advice. Annoying and unnecessary.
