We stayed for 2 nights and found the venue was conveniently located and had free parking. Our room was spacious and the bed was comfortable.
Evening meals were available ìn the restaurant and as it is a popular venue, it was necessary to book ahead to ensure a table.
The main disadvantages were that the rooms were up stairs and secondly, breakfasts were not available in the dining room due to a lack of staff but a continental breakfast could be ordered the night before to enjoy in your room.

It was a holiday weekend in Tassie, so most places were very expensive. I only stayed 2 nights.
The bed was comfy. The room was big, it was clean. I was in an unrenovated room. I would say basic.
I cut my time short and received a full refund, which was very honourable.
I ate at the restaurant twice and It was great food and very reasonable prices.
The hotel is on top of a pub. So prepare for stairs.

Had several meals at the Black Buffalo on a recent stay in Hobart.
All the staff are friendly & knowledgeable, engaging in some friendly banter while showing us to our table, taking drinks & food orders.
The young guy in the bottle shop provided some great wine selections for our stay at home nights.
We did not stay at the hotel, but were treated like return guests.
Recommend for a no fuss meal or a few drinks after touring around.

The black buffalo rooms are nice but the service I received in the bistro was amazing the young girls that work there made me feel so welcome I am from overseas and you staff are world class people .
A big shout out to tremeka and tash for their smile and fun loving attitude they delivered our meals and also made us feel so welcome . Tremeka was lovely although she was busy she still had time to have a chat and help us go through the menu .
Tash was always checking if we needed anything and I can see these two girl communicating though out our meal they make a good team .
The restaurant was bubbling with happy people and the girls although it was so busy had the table turned over and cleaned so fast .
Keep up the good work and we will be sure to tell all our family and friends who visit from new zeland to check you guys out .

The staff here make this hotel a pleasure to stay in. Professional and genuinely caring. Rooms are clean and well replenished daily. Meals were delicious with a menu to suit all requirements Not to mention the fantastic room rate. Thanks again for a great stay.

City side room was large and modern. Nice comfy bed great shower lot's of hot water and great pressure. A short stroll up the hill is Pie Face grabbed a large flat white in the morning for $2. 17 min walk into the cbd. Would be a good base to see Hobart and surrounds at a great price. I did not eat there but all accou s meals and service are great. Be mindfull though that most rooms are up a small flight of stairs.

I attended your hotel for lunch on Saturday 29th July. I had the pork shoulder; it was slimy, and I had to peel off the covering slime before I could attempt to eat it. The vegetables were limp and tasted like they had been sitting in covered saucepan waiting to be served.
We had to wait for over 2 hours for our meal even though we had booked previously. I could only see 2 other small tables in the restaurant so could not understand the wait. The was one waitress, short blonde hair which was polite to everyone, but the other staff were rude, and I am sorry we wasted their time when I'm sure they would rather be elsewhere. I will not be coming back unless a new chef and most of the restaurant staff are replaced.

It's about a 5-minute drive from Hobart city. I stayed here on the last day of Tasmania. It took about 20 minutes by car to get to the airport. You can walk to the North Hobart restaurant area. The room facilities were old, but the room was spacious and had a bathtub as well as a shower. I checked in around 3pm, but there was no one at the reception, so I had to ask someone from the restaurant on the first floor to help me. It was quiet, but I think I could have chosen a hotel in Hobart city.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The rooms are of a reasonable size for a hotel. Its not too far from the centre of the city - walkable in about 20 or a few minutes drive. Also not far from Mona in the other direction. It has a restaurant attached as well as being a short walk to other eateries. Theres a good size carpark and a bottleshop attached.

The rooms here are clean and fairly modern. The one I was in had a small patch that was being repaired/painted, but was otherwise in good condition. It's not the most central location - if you want to walk to Salamanca Markets, it's roughly a 35 minute walk, but only a 7 minute drive.
The only down side to my stay was the food - it's really ordinary, especially for the price. I would almost go as far as saying it was awful, but maybe that's a touch harsh.
All in all, it represents very good value for money as a place to stay - I just wouldn't eat here.
