The Pickled Frog is a nice Hostel although very, very busy. Me and my girlfriend had to stay in seperate rooms in order to stay here. That was fine, but it helped to build my impression that the Pickled Frog is like a small music festival everybody wants to go to. We couldn't really enjoy the atmosphere. I recommend to...

One of the best, maybe even the best hostel I stayed at during my year in Australia. Nice room, good prices, many nice places to hang out and most of all, amazing staff! They are really friendly and really helped us to discover what to see and do in and around Hobart. I really recommend this place to everyone!

By far the best and most cosy hostel in Hobart! The staff are super friendly, the backpackers super relaxed and the free trips the hostel offers are amazing. If you expect a shiny new modern hostel don't go there, but if you're looking for a good time, laughs, adventures and new friends then this is the place to be! I...

Everything was perfect from the friendly staff as you walk in the door, to the facilties and friendly guests. Staff extremely helpful and treated as a Freind rather than just another number. Very clean and supplied with out asking.

A place is only as good as it's people so this is a great place! Staff were friendly, helpful and seemed genuinely interested in all the visitors. A hard trait to keep when working in tourism. Having the bar was ideal and great coffee. Great sitting area and big kitchen.

Nice hostel for one or two nights. Rooms are OK. Toilets and showers are a little bit dirty. Kitchen and communal area are very big, there is a little bar\café next to the reception with great coffee. The staff is really friendly and offers some free tours for example to mt. Wellington. All in all a nice independent hostel.

Staff was lovely and really did make you feel at home. Good to meet people but not noisy. Good kitchen, bar and common room. Only thing I'd add is that the rooms downstairs are far from the showers (on 1st floor) but other than that the one week I spent at the frog was particularly amazing.

We stayed two nights (sat&sun) and think its excellent! If you're a young traveller on a budget, especially to those travelling alone, this is the place you go. The common rooms (kitchen, fireplace, lounge, pool, tv, bar) will help you relax. The beer is cheap, staff are young and friendly, travellers from all over the world.. snacks available.. you can't...

Hey there Danni, thanks heaps for your kind words. It's always nice to log in here and see people have such a good time at The Frog. I think you've summed up the place awesomely! Next time you're down we'll try and impress you enough to get the 5 star rating ;)

The staff were really great and the hostel ha a great atmosphere. The bathrooms are terrible, for example there is only one tiny sink in the shared bathroom. They were cleaned only one a day, by the evening they were absolutely filthy. The rooms are very noisy. You can here people talking in the shower, way down the hall. You...

Hey James, 2 stars seems a bit harsh doesn't it? Didn't you find the staff "great" and the common areas "really good and a nice friendly vibe?" Most of our rooms have their own sink so having one sink each in all of the other bathrooms is normally all good. Noisy rooms? Alas, controlling the volume of people talking has...

Stayed here 3 nights over the weekend. When i decided to change from the 12 share room to a smaller 6 bed they didn't charge me any extra! Awesome! Really nice social place and big bonus in the winter is the two fire places! Very cosy with lots of comfortable sofas and seats. Staff have bags of information about what...
