I stayed here in January 2016. After reading the reviews for this hotel when we booked we asked for a quiet room to avoid the noise from the hotel beer garden and hotel kitchen. We were allocated a room on the top floor where our double glazed window meant we could not hear the noise from the hotel beer garden...

Like many other things in Tasmania, a night at the Brunswick Hotel doesn't come cheap. But just like the rest you quickly forget the price. First of all the location is perfect ( 5 minutes from the piers and 10 from Salamanca ). Then the bar downstairs has a great selection of drinks. You can also eat there for good...

We've stayed at this hostel three times with friends when visiting Hobart. Twice before Marion Bay Falls Festival and most recently before a hike in Port Arthur. The rooms are simple and the beds average but it does the job. The bathrooms seem to have been updated since our last visit which is good. The bar downstairs is good fun...

Noisy, small rooms & hallways, dirty & dark bathrooms, indifferent reception (burly guy with a beard), unfriendly atmosphere, terrible mattress. Desperately wanted to check out the same day I checked in, too bad the other hostel was already closed by the time I called them. Save your money and avoid this hostel. Go to Backpackers Imperial Hostel (5mins walk) for...

It was a horrible experience. The mayor issue with this hostel is that when your baggage get stolen they do nothing. Claims its my fault to trust them my luggage to them. When confront them with the facts they will ignore you. Also they take people in with no possesions (people who get money from the salvation army to stay...

This hostel is right above a busy bar and can get pretty noisy at night. The private room had its own bar fridge and tea/coffee pot. The bedrooms were clean but the kitchen and eating area were a bit of a mess. The hostel is ideally situated, right in the center of town but it wouldn't be my first choice...

This review is for the restaurant only. Our 20 year old son has been trying to get us to the Brunswick for ages, but they are always booked out (this could be because we always leave it until the last minute to try and book!!) but we finally managed it last week. They have a different deal each night, and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Brunswick Hotel is one of the last remaining hotels that once graced Liverpool Street. Established in 1827, twenty years after the settlement of Hobart, the hotel represents an important part of this country’s social history. The Brunswick Hotel bar boosts eight different beers on tap that includes Cascade Brewery’s finest beers (the oldest brewery in Australia), an evolving section of some of Tasmanian’s premium red and white wines both by the glass and bottle. The Brunswick Hotel also provides very fairly priced Hotel rooms that are the perfect choice for a centrally located Hobart stay. Our en-suite rooms come equipped with a fridge, tea & coffee and a flat screen TV. Our restaurant headed up by one of Hobart’s premium chefs, Tony Gamble, who has produced a menu that exemplifies locally sourced produce, meat, seafood and cheeses. These dishes leads themselves to be shared between friends or indulge on some of our pub classics, such as Marrawah Steak sandwich, our own Brunswick Lamb Burger, grilled calamari and our own hand cut fries. The Brunswick Hotel is the perfect place for a casual every day lunch and dinner catch-up or unwind. Not to mention a ‘Hobart Getaway’ for the weekend. With the longest chesterfield in Tassie (second longest in the world), comfy leather booths or tradition "sit at the bar" seating, we are ready for you at Hobart’s newest friendly local hotel. ... more   less
