Zero Davey Boutique Appartments was fantastic. We stayed in the 3 bedroom- Tasman and was amazed at how large it was. The bedrooms are at one end and the living areas at the other allowing the adults to put children to bed and have the TV on and chat without worrying. The main bedroom is huge and the spa and double shower are great. The laundry with a washer/dryer meant we could soak our Sons clothes without taking up a bathroom sink and the dishwasher was also a bonus after a few nights of takeaway. The cafe downstairs is handy to dine in or collect to eat on your own balcony and the lounge was very comfortable too. The location is great with a short walk to the CBD or/and Salamanca Markets and the Wharf right on the doorstep. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Stayed at the apartments as our Hobart base and were very happy with the location of the apartment which is on the dock area close to lots of restaurants. The apartments also have parking for $10 a day which was great but would be a bit tight if you have a large car. The apartment had a small kitchenette which had all you would need to cook if you wanted to but all we did was make our breakfast.

The only downside was if you have a room that opens out onto Davey Street is the noise of the traffic as it is a main one way street. The noise wasn't too bad at night but did start again early and you really couldn't leave the sliding door open.

We had a washer/dryer in the apartment which was handy but a small clotheshorse would have been handy. There was also free wifi which was great. Also the bed was comfy.

We booked a harbour view room for 3 nights. The room was lovely and large, the location is excellent (perfect for walking to attractions), and the view across the fishing harbour gets a 10/10. However, I had all sorts of minor issues with the hotel that caused me to downgrade my rating.
The apartment was quite dirty when you looked closely and shows that the hotel is in serious need of a deep clean and a spruce up. Dirty grout, dirty tiles, grout paint peeling off, plug cover missing, lots of plastic items are yellowing with age, freezer iced up, broken chair leg. Many items would easily be spotted by housekeeping and reported to maintenance, but that just isn't happening.
The WiFi was also very weak in our room and hence frequently dropped out. The kettle was calcified and in need of replacement.
But then there are room layout issues. The wardrobe is by the door which is the furthest point from the bedroom. We got a huge bathroom but the sink was absolutely tiny.
I'll stop there, but you should have the message. It's a shame as the hotel could be a massive winner, but it needs some serious TLC. Would I stay there again - NO.

We (three couples) stayed in 'courtyard' apartments for about $160 night. The hotel is in a great location as other reviewers have described, and our rooms were clean and comfortable, with each one having a washing machine/dryer, which was well appreciated. Shaun on the front desk was very friendly and helpful.
Would definitely recommend the Zero Davey, but perhaps pay a little extra for a harbour side room, as the courtyard rooms do not really have a courtyard, they should really be called 'footpath' rooms.

This hotel on the waterfront in Hobart has an ideal location for exploring the town. Book a water view studio if you want great harbour views. Rooms are well equipped and spacious with parking close by. Reception staff incredibly helpful and friendly.

Beautifully appointed and spacious apartments situated on Constitution Bay, Hobart. Walking distance to the floating seafood vans and Salamanca Place. Small cafe open for breakfast and lunch but only on weekdays. Car parking available for only $10 per night but beware, need to go in and out of a very steep incline. We had a studio room with courtyard which was tiny: not really conducive for sitting out there but nice to look at. King size bed was amazingly comfortable and there was a kitchenette with pots, pans, etc plus a clothes washer and dryer within the room. Highly recommended!

I have stayed here several times and have not been disappointed. Both times in 3 bed apartment. Easy walk to shops in CBD, waterfront precinct and Salamanca area. Hard to beat for access to most things on foot. Under cover parking. Deck area. Full kitchen and modern facilities even though the complex is showing it's age a little. Price is above average but considering the location it is OK. Second stay rooms faced Davey Street and thought this would be noisy however inside is surprisingly very quiet. Spacious and clean, views. There is a superb Chinese restaurant next door on the ground floor.

Booked a studio apartment with harbour views, which meant we could see the activity on the wharf daily. Apartment kitchen is well equipped so you can easily cook/prepare breakfast or make coffee. Apartment was well maintained and clean. My sister's family stayed in a 2 brm suite which was huge and wheel chair accessible. It is so convenient as Salamanca markets, ferry to MONA, Art gallery etc are all within walking distance. Gym however is tiny. Very pleased we stayed here since it is very well priced compared to the neighbouring luxury hotels the same street.

This was our 5 Th trip over 7 years to Zero Davey ,this time in timing with New Year’s Eve .
The position is number one in Hobart central to everything Hobart offers within walking distance .The cleanliness and maintenance of the property has always been immaculate and standards are maintained always.
Many thanks again to Tom and Chris always welcoming and you feel right at home when you arrive .
The Taste of Tasmania in combination with the Sydney o Hobart makes it a Rey exciting time to be there .
The little extra with the RiversDale Estate wine was a winner
Will be back and highly recommend
Mike

This was my worst nightmare. Booking a room online only to discover on arrival that it was not as described. I have booked a lot of accommodation using the various internet based booking companies but this was was my first unsatisfactoy experience.
We booked a "studio deluxe apartment with shared courtyard". Firstly let me say it is a good size room clean and tidy close to Constitution Dock.
It is also on the ground floor, one and a half metres below footpath and road level. The "shared courtyard" is a one and a half metres wide rubbish strewn passage way which passes all the rooms on the ground floor and leads to the hotel’s café, which is closed Friday, Saturday, Sunday! The room faces onto Davey St which is a 5-lane main throughfare into Hobart CBD. The room has no curtains on the windows only venetian blinds so at night you do not need the lights on to see in the room and during the day you have to keep the blinds partly closed if you want any privacy.
If you are further unfortunate, like us, you get room 1 which is directly behind reception, so you hear every person who comes in and out and is opposite one of the doors to the car park.
When we raised our concerns with the duty manager we were told “I know you are not happy with the room, but I do not want to discuss it”. Wonderful customer service! The refund policy did not allow cancellations within 48 hours and no chance of moving to another room as the hotel was fully booked. We spent a sleepless night with the traffic noise and bright lights outside.
I do not know what the other rooms in this hotel are like or how helpful or otherwise the rest of the staff are, but based on our experience, it does not matter how good the deal or location is – Stay at another hotel.

Parking is available and with easy access to rooms. But it's not free I recall around A$10 a night. However well worth it. Book in advance.

Our apartment had a washing machine & drier....so all good. I'd recommend asking for an apartment that faces the wharf rather than the main road [ our fellow travellers mentioned the road is noisy]

Hi, I'm sorry but our Deluxe Davey Studio's don't have views of the water. You need to book a Luxury Water View Studio to get the views of the water.
