Just getting round to reviewing our trip, the Henry Jones was a fantastic hotel, nice boutique hotel with great rooms with good facilities. Great location looking over onto the harbour. Short walk to many bars, restaurants and local market on Saturday. The hotel restaurant was fine dining and would cater for your needs. The cocktails in the bar were good,...

Although it is somewhat quirky, being fashioned from the original IXL Jam Factory, we don't hesitate in booking here everytime we come to Hobart. We've stayed in slightly cheaper places here with similar locations, but at the end of the day we value the helpfulness of the staff above all else. Nothing is too much trouble. Beds are comfortable, the...

I hadn't stayed at the Henry Jones before, but it's a terrific hotel with a genuine sense of history and hospitality. The staff were helpful with everything we needed and after seven nights we felt like moving in permanently. The downstairs bar is an excellent place to get the evening started, and I can recommend the artist's loft as a...

This historic building used to be a jam factory and was lovingly resorted to what it is today, a unique and hip Art Hotel brimming with character and modern Art. You literally feel the artistic nature of this boutique hotel the minute you walk through its doors. The hall ways and rooms are dotted with amazing art works, a an...

We've stayed several times at the Henry Jones and once again it didn't disappoint. Waterfront room was great and staff were helpful as ever. One of the nicest, most comfortable placed we're ever stayed. Cold outside, warm and welcoming inside!

I booked the Henry Jones Art Hotel although the rooms were quite expensive because it seemed like an interesting, quirky place to stay, and its location in the harbor was great. Valet service for our car worked well, and with one exception, staff did an excellent job. However, although it is very quaint and quirky with old stone walls and...

Service was friendly and fantastic, room was minimalist but warm. The bar is small and cosy with great range of drinks. I would highly recommend this hotel - an amazing way to spend a weekend and the perfect spot to explore dark mofo.

We love the hotel . Take the hotel tour for its art and it's history to really appreciate the depth of the renovation from almost derelict . And enjoy the flow of bubbles they kindly help the tour along with ! A sunny April Hobart helps the good vibe of the weekend . The hotels location is well placed for...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Australia's first dedicated art hotel stands proudly on Hobart's glorious waterfront. A handsome row of historic warehouses dating from the 1820s (the former IXL jam factory) have been creatively transformed into an enthralling multi-award winning first class hotel. The hotel itself is a work of art. Here you'll be fascinated by the unexpected combination of the antique and the ultra modern. ... more   less
