Detailed Reviews
In Hobart for three nights with wife and three grandchildren.
Had stayed at the motel four years ago and was well pleased then.
Chose to stay at the Unit mainly because the numbers.
Fantastically furnished three bedroom apartment as part of the motel, with fully equipped kitchen and washing machine.
Access straight on to Sandy Bay Road, but double glazing defeated all the traffic noise - quiet and peaceful.
The grandchildren were impressed with the television sets in all the bedrooms.
If you don't want to drive or Uber/taxi into the CBD there's an excellent bus service almost just outside.
Good restaurants close by and just across the road - almost - from Wrest Point Hotel/Casino.

+1
Motel 429 is in a brilliant location. Bus stops with quite regular service are close by. The casino is 5 minutes walk across the street. 2 minutes bus ride, or 15 minutes walk is downtown Sandy Bay with late opening supermarkets and multiple restaurants. Hobart CBD and waterfront is less than 10 minutes bus ride. The little beach opposite the motel is perfectly swimmable with clean and exhilarating cool water. Rooms are cosy and modern with a convenient supply of cutlery, bowls, microwave and kettle. Staff are professional and friendly. I will be back.

We stayed at Motel 429 from 30th December 2022 until 3rd January 2023 and the room was very clean, spacious and reasonably priced. The service we received was first class and nothing was too much trouble. We highly recommend this Motel which is 10minutes by bus to the City Centre. Would we stay there again, most definitely.

Situated across the road from the shore and a short drive from the centre of Hobart, this proved to be a good place to stay. The road was not so busy that there was significant traffic noise. There was plenty of parking with a mix of spaces under cover and in the open.
All of the rooms were accessible from open walkways that could be reached by a lift or stairs. My room was large, clean and equipped with everything I needed - fridge, microwave, table and chairs, sofa and good wifi. The bathroom, which had a shower, was well maintained although there was a need to repair a soap dispenser.
Overall, it was a good place to stay and somewhere I would be very happy to return to.

Room was very clean, spacious and with a good seating area (couch and also table and chairs.) Complimentary coffee, tea and biscuits were good quality. I was surprised that milk was not complimentary ($2 for 300ml at Reception.) Plenty of free parking. Location is good; a ten minute walk to the Sandy Bay shopping area and across the road is Sandy Bay beach. The day I stayed was hot and the thick, heavy blockout curtains were most appreciated.

This motel had been recommended to us by relatives for our first Tasmanian trip. We'd chosen a ground floor Queen room and frankly it was the only real disappointment in our trip. To call the shoebox-sized ground-floor Queen room a Queen room is laughable. It might be big enough for a couple of kids with a backpack but for two adult travellers with suitcases the small room was totally inadequate. It's the smallest motel room we have ever been in anywhere in the world. The bed is supposed to be Queen size but we doubt it and the linen was to small for the frame. At 3am every morning we had to re-make the bed as the sheets and matress topper became totally undone. We will not be staying here again and if you have motre than a backpack do not choose the ground floor rooms. The only plus was it was close to the car park.

Beautiful comfortable suite of rooms perfect for a few days away. Love that the room has a sitting area with couch, table and chairs. Plenty of room for luggage. plenty of off street parking. Has the most amazing water pressure in shower, shower is a little small. but the water pressure makes up for it. Cant find any real faults. Perfect spot for a business trip.

Good location, quiet and on the waterfront. Battery Point walkable about 30mins. On a good bus route into town.
Reception staff very welcoming and extremely helpful.
If we return this will definitely be our first choice.
Booking.com made no mention of laundry and a gym on site. If I had known this I would not have looked at other options in Hobart.
Great to have a fridge and microwave and utensils in the room.
Good choice from me and extremely happy with our stay.

Stayed here as part of a business trip. Room was really nice and private. Loved the contactless check in/check out process. Room was very modern and clean, plenty of parking and a bargain for the price.

there is undercover parking and there is open parking, You don't have a park outside your room because they are all appartments on top of each other and the is a lift to get to your room. There are 2 rooms on ground level just depends if you have booked them or not and the you can park outside of them. But the complex has parking all in the property. Hope that helps.
