A nice old National Trust registered property. Stayed in room 808 for 3 nights.. Clean and comfortable. Nice breakfasts in delightful olde world dining room and enjoyed complimentary port and fudge each evening in the well furnished lounge. Traffic noise from Sandy Bay Rd can intrude a little but not a major issue. Easy walk to Salamanca Markets and the...

This is the only place in our three weeks in Austrailia that I would not reccomend. It is on a very busy street and so is very noisy and so you could not leave the windows open if you wanted to sleep and there is no AC. The room we had was very tired and needed a sprucing up. The...

Apart from a loose tap, a flooding bathroom, a dirty window sill and a musty room, we could give you twenty reasons why this is not luxury accomodation and definitely not worth the exorbitant room rate. These were the issues with room 2:- Poor bathroom lighting with no mirror light. No shower gel. No bathroom 'extras' cotton buds etc etc...

This house is really imposing. We stayed in suite 1 on the ground floor and traffic noise from Sandy Bay Road made sleep difficult. We would stay here again but would choose a room at the back. When we arrived neither the central or mirror lights in the bathroom were working. Staff are only on-site in the mornings so we...

Good size nice clean rooms. Friendly staff and a good breakfast. The free port and fudge is a lovely touch. We would definitely stay here again. Communication was good. We had an email sent to us with all the necessary details and even a phone call the day before we stayed there to check we had received the email.

Be warned: Do not book the night before you stay and then be without access to your emails the next day. Information on how to access our room was sent to us at 11.30am on the day of our stay. We had no wifi after 9am. The only way we got into the premises was because one of the other...

We stayed three nights in Room 1 on the ground floor. This is a beautiful heritage listed property a few minutes walk from Salamanca market and the centre of the city. Our room was very large, warm and comfortable. The staff were lovely and friendly and the cooked breakfasts were delicious each morning. Complimentary port and fudge were available in...

We stayed in Room 4 for two nights while exploring Hobart. Beautiful large room and bathroom with a fabulous spa, and large bay windows (to see sunrise)! Very convenient to walk to Salamanca markets, nearby restaurants and ferry terminal to MONA. Friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

We loved our two nights at Gattonside, a large, beautifully restored Victorian home within a few blocks walk of the Salamanca District. We were upgraded to a big room on the ground floor with sofa, leather-topped desk, spa tub and ceiling heat in the bathroom. The bed was wonderfully comfy and the breakfast, cereal with fruit plus eggs (cooked our...
