The Doubletree is a new hotel in Hobart: it offers a superb Doubletree experience but seems to be suffering growing pains. The hotel is well situated a few blocks from the harbour, it offers very comfortable rooms with nice views and a superbly appointed bathroom. The staff is very attentive. My only, and principal criticism, is focused on breakfast. The breakfast options are good: both the hot and the cold buffet were tasty. But the experience of breakfast was not good. On arrival at breakfast, you may be greeted by a long line because the staff is processing payment (would you like the cold buffet only, or the hot in addition?) rather than doing so at the front desk or at the end of breakfast. When seated the first time, I was thrilled with the claim that all our eggs are made to offer, but then less than thrilled when no one came to take my order for thirty minutes. And then less than thrilled again on another day when it took thirty minutes for my order to arrive--which I sadly had to turn away because, well, I was so hungry I went for other options. There is only one chef making all the orders (shout out to you for doing a heroic job, sorry for sending your superbly scrambled eggs back). Getting to the coffee and juice was a chore: glasses and cups kept on running out, and even when they were available, you had to dodge the folks getting their coffee and juice to get to the glasses and cups. The coffee machine (there was only one for the crowds) kept on breaking down. Good news: the coffee was pretty good! I would definitely recommend this hotel and return to it, but I am hoping that the management works out the problems with breakfast service.

The hotel is very green, which fits with Tasmania's overall conservation ethis - which is great.
It is a very comfortable and new hotel. The beds and pillows are incredibly comfortable and luxurious.
The restaurant/ room service food was delicious and well priced.
The room was very clean and well serviced . The bathroom had a walk-in shower with both rain and normal shower heads.
The gym and pool area was excellent and clean.
The only downsides that I would mention was the variance in staff..some were really amazing and so friendly and helpful, but there were one or two on the front desk who barely smiled and didn't make any effort to welcome guests. However, the doorman, head concierge, and supervisor were amazing and very professional.
Also, the location is a fair way from Salamanca and the Harbour. It's not too bad, but if you have psychical limitations, it's something to consider. Also, it is a fair walk to get to restaurants.
The rooms are quiet, but if you have someone in the next room, the soundproofing isn't that good, so you can hear other people.
Overall, for a capital city, this is a value for money luxurious place to stay when in Hobart.

I was lucky enough to stay here for 2 recent business trips. First trip I was in a corner room on L3 - lots of space and very comfortable room/bed; great view over of the water, as well as Mt Wellington (ever changing). This trip I'm on L8, slightly smaller room but still very comfortable. Great view of the water from the front of the hotel and Mt Wellington (from the front room entrance), with a bonus daily view of 2 little chicks on the rooftop (amazing they're still there with the strength of the wind some days!). Cannot compliment the staff here enough, from the front reception staff, very friendly bar and wait staff and chefs. The food has been delicious, so much so I returned for dinner again, to have the same meal and enjoy it a second time - not disappointed! Doubletree By Hilton is in a great location, centrally located and all places of interest within easy walking distance. Would highly recommend staying here and will definitely choose this hotel when I come back as a tourist!

Be careful that they don’t charge you a different price by deceptive front counter staff!! Booked online for 1 night by mistake, should have been two, front counter fixed for me but once I received bill they charged me $100 more for second night without telling me!! Josh the manager very unhelpful, advised he we email me GM’s details - what do you know nothing received to date!! Will be seeking advice from ACCC.
Also if you stay on the second floor just know you will hear people dropping weights in the gym until 10pm.
Avoid if you can!!

Stayed here for 5 nights as part of a work trip late October. Overall, rooms we're comfortable and of high quality with modern amenities. All the staff interacted with during the stay we're friendly. Only are that needs some work is the breakfast service. The breakfast opened at 6:30AM but was never fully ready at this time which was a bit inconvenient having to wait for items to be prepared when trying to have an early breakfast.

I'm writing this review while still in the hotel. Such a wonderful, new hotel in a superb location in Hobart! Check-in was seamless, and we were offered a room upgrade being HiltonHonors Diamond guests. The room was meticulous and lovely and had a gorgeous view of the mountains! The check-in staff is super friendly and extremely efficient. A very special shout out to Madhu at the front desk, who very patiently answered our zillion questions, went out of her way to give us some very useful tips about Hobart and things to do, and ensured we received our diamond-member drink vouchers! This is our first time in Hobart, and Madhu's suggestions, guidance, and help are highly appreciated! Breakfast is simple yet tasty and the staff here are warm and lovely to talk to! We look forward to our next 2 days at this amazing property!

Yes, the rooms are great- that´s easy because it is a very new hotel. Bure we were not satisfied with the breakfast. As a diamond member you just get the continental breakfast. If you want the hot breakfast it´s another 10$. I wonder how they can tell if a guest is using the hot buffet as they are next to each other. So we just had the continental, but it was a disappointment too. Not much choices. Given the price for a night we would not stay there again.

Quick check-in. Friendly and helpful receptionists. Room safe was not working but we were offered to have our valuables kept at the reception if we're out. Complementary coffee, tea and bottles of water and freshly baked biscuits on arrival. Our room was spacious, clean, faced busy road but quiet with double-glazed windows. Soft bed. Breakfast was with good varieties.

The hotel rooms were quite acceptable with good wifi. The price point for the amenities on offer is at the right level. However, we were disappointed with three main events during our stay.
1. We attempted to check into two pre-booked rooms at 1630. With an advertised check-in time of 1500 we expected no issue. However, we experienced a delay in check-in, as one of our rooms was not ready. 2. We had one car, and we were unable to park in hotel parking. We instead had to park our car in a nearby commercial car park. 3. On our last night, we tried to eat at the hotel restaurant, walking at 1910. We were unable to secure a table as we were told, "We are not accepting walk-ins tonight". The restaurant did not appear to be at maximum capacity.
It is a shame that the hotel let us down with the above points, as the amenities and location of the hotel are at a good standard.

Very comfortable stay with family ... Excellent location walkable from tourist places, museums, Salamanca and other downtown areas. Had room with wonderful view of Mount Wellington. Staff is great. We were attended by Bishal and Madhu at the reception who were very helpful. Only suggestion is breakfast to be changed a bit, it could get monotonous for people staying longer durations.
