Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you're in Hobart for business and Value your rest, book a better room. Overall the room is clean but very outdated. The bathroom is from the 80s, there's a "shower over bath" setup that's not meant to be used by anyone over 170cms tall. The bath is a joke and it's literally 50cm*50cm and barely 30cm deep. The walls are paper thin as I can hear everything. The bed is essentially a box spring mattress that offers no support whatsoever. The saving grace was that the breakfast room service is punctual.

Our stay was ok though not great. While I understand it is budget, the motor inn section leaves a lot to be desired. Be sure to request a ground floor room if you have mobility issues or have a pram etc as there are no elevators. Our room was very basic, unfortunately when the shower in the room above us was on it leaked water through the roof of our room and into our shower (I did inform of this when we checked out so hopefully it gets fixed). Very long wait to check in with no where to sit. Overall average at best and probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Ideal location, stayed 5 nights, rooms were spacious, comfortable bed. May be getting a bit dated but the staff were friendly and very helpful, only possible downside was the distance from the bistro for breakfast other than that a very enjoyable stay

Wrest Point is best known for its tower but there is also a 3.5 star wing in the original low rise motor inn. We booked here due to a 6am flight in the morning and being Dark MOFO Hobart accomodation was pricey. We got the Winter warmer deal for $179 including a $40 food credit which suited us as we wanted to eat at the bistro. The room was quite spacious and well decorated. The bathroom is small and had a funny step up shower. They give you hot chocolate and tea/coffee. We slept well overall and were able to check out early with 24 hour reception. These are not luxury but if you can get a good price worth considering. Lots of free parking on site.

We stayed 2 nights on arrival in Hobart. Clean, tidy and basic. Quiet space but needs 2 way access through the back entrance to the carpark Interconnecting doors need to be upgraded between rooms to block light and sound.

Rip off, beware. Had to cancel due to Covid and they refused any refund when it’s obvious that we cannot travel. Nice way to treat potential customers. Didn’t care what the circumstances were, just refused to discuss

It’s a good place to stay in Hobart. We stayed 2 days right in front of beach. Nice views, casino inside and best buffet breakfast. Love this place in heart of Hobart. Rooms are specious. Toilets need more cleanliness. There is no exhaust fan in the toilets. Except toilets rest is good.

Good location within 15 minute walk to restaurants, bars and shops. Hotel room was a good size, nice and clean and very comfortable. A well stocked mini bar with a nice view of the water and street. Bathroom was very small with the shower over the bath so that was my only fault with the hotel. Checking in and out ran very smooth and staff were all very pleasant. Well worth the stay :)

Staff were very friendly but the room itself was outdated and extremely dusty. I could not wait to leave because of dust, dust was around the room, you could see it in the air and wake up tasting it. The breakfast buffet also disappointing. Unfortunately I would not go back. I think the Motor Inn is separate to hotel so the hotel could be nice.

Decor and fit out very tired and clearly in need of some renovations. Walls are paper thin and you can hear everything going on in surrounding rooms. No central heating and aircon heater located at the door barely makes a difference near the beds. Sheets were clean but carpet and bathroom needs work.
