The renovations are completed and the lobby looks fabulous. This was my first ever visit to Hobart and I had been keeping an eye on all the previous reviews on Tripadvisor regarding this property up until my visit here. Many guests complained about the renovation works in the previous reviews, therefore I was a little worried about how it would affect my time here. But all those worries were laid to rest when my taxi dropped me off in front of the revolving doors to the main lobby and I walked into the lobby and was greeted warmly by the staff at the reception counter. I was given a room on level 2 in the tower, my room faced the Derwent River, which was a spectacular view indeed! The rooms on the higher floors would be even better, therefore you should make a request for the rooms from level 4 to 16 when you check in. The highest level in the tower is level 17, but this is where the revolving restaurant is located. This hotel also provides a small indoor lap pool, gym, jacuzzi and sauna for all in-house guests, but I didn't have time to use these facilities. There is a casino at this hotel, it is rather small, nothing like the Crown casino in Melbourne or the Star City casino in Sydney. There is also a convention centre attached to this hotel, therefore this hotel will get really busy whenever there are events happening here. My room was excellent, with a newly refurbished bathroom and the towels were new and fluffy. I had twin beds and both beds were very comfortable and so were the pillows. I bought the buffet breakfast for 2 when I booked the room, and the breakfast in the Boardwalk Bistro was adequate but not spectacular. We also had dinner at the Boardwalk Bistro on 1 of the evenings, dinner was okay. IMPORTANT NOTE: Dinner is served from 5.30pm to 8.30pm in the Boardwalk Bistro. The kitchen closes at 8.30pm SHARP! I feel that this is too early for a restaurant which serves dinner, but this is just my personal opinion. I also tried the Chinese restaurant at this hotel which is located on a mezzanine level outside the casino and the food here was very good. The prawns with special X.O sauce was superb! This hotel is located on the outskirts of Hobart city centre and is within walking distance to several bus stops. I took bus 428 on the main road into Hobart City to explore the city by foot. The bus ride took only 10 minutes to the bus stop near Salamanca Place. The hotel is also located right on the sea front and next to the marina where locals park or berth their sailboats. In the evenings, if the weather is good, you can watch the locals go sailing on the Derwent River from your hotel room, which makes for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. From my room window, I could also see the Tasman Bridge and on the last morning of my stay, I saw a big cruise ship come into the port. The staff at the reception were friendly and helpful, they answered all my questions regarding the public transport and also recommended the Bruny Island Day Tour, which I took. All in all, I was very pleased with my stay at this hotel and I would certainly stay here again for my future trip to Hobart. …

May have to rethink our annual visit to this Hobart establishment. There was an emergency evacuation called late at night whilst we were there - from our perspective this was poorly handled (my husband is wheelchair dependent) with no direction or assistance provided by hotel staff. It was a very unnerving situation. We were also not particularly enarmoured of our Revolving Restuarant food choices - past experiences have been much better.

The staff were lovely and helpful. The rooms were nice. The restaurants were too expensive. Wrest point is not walking distance to the city but it is in a nice location. It was a comfortable stay for my husband and I.

Middle class hotel .hotel needs to improve housekeeping services. If we can see some smiling faces from casino staffers that would be nice and keep us coming back. Restaurant ( Kwon H) staffers need some training.

Great value for money,wonderfull views , exceptionally clean . Amazing pillows and beds extremely comfortable. Birdcage bar had amazing cocktails with wonderful attentive staff and delicious food. In future it will be our fist choice for accommodation.

We were very happy with our room ,staff and great food. What else can I say it is everything we would expect it to be and fully covered our needs. The previous visit we were walking through building works and the Smokehouse was being refurbished we did not visit this time as our stay was short but look forward to in the future.

This is not just a 5 star but a classy hotel with the highest standards that you seek when you are on a vacation. Service The main aspect of any hotel is its service. From the initial communication level for reservation to reception, the staff are at their best. The hospitality is amazing. Everything was on time and i have only positives for the service team during the stay. Location This hotel is located just a bit on the side from the crowded Tasmanian CBD area. This gives them a huge area with a nice garden, waterfront views for the entire hotel, small waterfall in house! as well as mini golf and gaming areas. The pictures barely do justice. You will need a car but has a bus stop enarby if you prefer to commute. Cafes/Restaurants/Dining As the entire property is in waterfront, its cafes, dining areas provide amazing views during your coffee or meals throughout-- this is the best part, for me. Food was very delicious and the restaurant staff were prompt and courteous. Casino It has a huge casino as well if you are the gambler. Its connected with a bridge corridor from the hotel however is fully shielded from the hotel so does not disturb the hotel ambience any time. Rooms I am thankful to the hotel team especially the rooms division manager and the on duty manager who were graceful to upgrade me to the highest suite room. The pictures should speak for themselves. This room in particular was huge with automated curtains, ultra luxury beds, lounges, full wide view of the sea. However, most of the rooms have the views and the standards remain the same. Bedding and amenities were 5 star and they seem to have picked the highest quality products in these aspects. …

It is a great place to stay. Access to Wrest Point is easy. The staff are friendly, professional and very helpful. Parking your rental car isn't a problem. Room access is very good. The rooms are very well maintained. The breakfast menu is of a high standard and if you pig out on the extensive menu provided, you can give lunch a miss. It's a very good location in relation to many of the tourist sites because in many cases you can avoid the CBD if you want to.
