Actual birthday celebration in Hobart. Located in the heart of Elizabeth mall and about 7 minutes on foot to the waterfront. Conference rooms on level 1, a small gym on level 2 without a swimming pool. Great view from the Suite room on the 17th floor with a spacious balcony, however the balcony could've been built from reinforced glass rather than concrete as the view of the harbour is spectacular. I am impressed with the hospitality and customer service at the Front Desk especially the young gentleman Curtis who's always polite, professional, sincere and helpful. Thanks to Josh and Coleman for your assistance with my bookings. Good breakfast, good dinner (advance booking is mandatory especially on the weekends). Greatly appreciated that they would allow you to redeem the welcome drink vouchers for any beers and wines in the dining menu. Will definitely return and stay here again.

Hotel's Favourite
It’s hard to know where to start with the amazing long weekend we had at the Movenpick in Hobart. From the beginning it exceeded all our expectations. From our check in on Friday night to check out Monday morning the process and stay was seamless and enjoyable. First of all I would like to comment on the overall vibe of the hotel. By the end of the weekend we felt like part of the hotel family, the staff would recognise us as we came through door and follow up on how our day had gone and what our plans for the night were, giving us great recommendations on the best places to eat, drink and play. For great food you don’t have to go much further than the hotels own restaurant Tesoro. We dropped in for a small afternoon drink on Saturday and ended up eating and drinking there for a lengthy seven hours in which time we made great friends with the outstanding hotel bartender Louis. He was happy to accomodate any request and made some of his own cocktails up for us on the spot. The on site breakfast (or any meal) at Tesoro is also not to be missed, we had the eggs benny and the fried chicken waffle - both outstanding. A massive shoutout must be given to several staff, in particular the Front Office Manager Josh, who accommodated every request for our weekend and was a friendly face at the front desk who was more than happy to give recommendations for where to go and what to see. Whilst in the hotel bar we observed Josh tend to all customers, going above and beyond to ensure they were having a great time. We spoke to some regular guests who stay every few weeks and they credited Josh, his team and the quality of the hotel as their reason to keep coming back. Josh’s five star approach to customer service clearly flows down to his team with every single member of staff being welcoming and friendly, in particular Curtis who was a friendly face throughout the weekend and always had time to help us or to check in about our day! The accomodation itself was modern and stylish and the ultimate in comfort and luxury. The beds were extremely comfortable and we especially loved the pillow menu. We also took advantage of the hotels valet parking for the weekend which made a big different. The Movenpick is a class above the rest in the Hobart hotel scene. We can’t wait to visit again!

Spent two days at the Movenpick at the end of a trip in Tasmania. A great hotel in a good location. The rooms are very comfortable and from the higher floors there is a great view of Hobart. The staff are very welcoming and efficient and make sure you are well looked after. The restaurant overall was good although seemed to struggle a little either with organisation or enough staff as on the first night my drink order took a long time to get to me and on the second night I'd finished my meal before I recieved my drink so cancelled the order. The only other minor negative was that it wasn't clear that it is essential to book the chocolate hour 24 hours in advance. This wasn't explained at check in or clear on the information in the room. It was pointed out that a page on the Movenpick website mentions "Pre-bookings 24-hours in advance", but the wording is confusing and makes it sound as if it only applies to the upgraded experience and if you booked the hotel through the Accor website the information is also missing from there. Fortunately the helpful reception staff were still able to organise a plate of chocolatey treats for me which were absolutely delicious even though I didn't get to try the full experience. Would definitely stay again if I'm back in Hobart.

The Movenpick is a very new hotel in the heart of Hobart deserving of all the positive comments written previously in these reviews. To reiterate, the customer service at the front desk is superb. Friendly, happy staff who genuinely seem to care about you and your stay. While we didn’t have a room with a view, by joining Accor (free) we received an upgrade of sorts. Huge tv, bath, rain shower, nice toiletries and plenty of space for 2 suitcases. Excellent. Being directly opposite the lift on the 9th floor (out of 18 floors) had us a bit concerned but we didn’t hear any noise from it or neighbours. This is a very quiet hotel (quiet is one word I scan for in reviews). After our travels we returned for a night after staying at another new hotel in Hobart. It was so good to return to hotel where customer service is paramount. Our classic room was smaller but perfectly outfitted. The bathrooms are lovely and the huge TV with Netflix was much appreciated. This is a wonderful hotel chain which we will look for in our future travels if and when they occur!

Friendly and helpful staff. Great housekeeping. Small standard rooms but everything is well designed. Chrome cast was a lovely addition. Central to everything. The view was unbeatable in the two rooms we stayed in. I was a bit bummed that due to covid they didn’t have any free chocolates.
