Stay was good. Pillows not great and staff forgot to deliver towels one day. A resident drunk banged on our door at 2:am and no security to assist. Front staff were helpful. Expensive stay when no car parking included.

A beautiful boutique hotel in bustling Salamanca area. With it’s gorgeously renovated rooms, this historic building has living plant walls and mohair throws in chairs beside the window where you can watch the hustle of Hobart outside your window. Well within walking distance to many restaurants and cafes, this hotel is a definite must stay when in Hobart.

Nice rooms and a good location. However, I was sick the night of my stay and had worked up a fever during the night. In the morning I stripped the bed as I had sweated heavily, and I separated the doona. A few days later I discovered a $95 charge to my credit card with no explanation. Upon calling the hotel, they informed me they had charged me for dry cleaning the doona, without bothering to tell me and no compassion at all for the fact I was sick and had done what I could. I don't think the doona was even wet as I had thrown it aside when I was sick ad I'm also not sure what kind of dry cleaner charges $95 for dry cleaner 1 doona. Considering the price you pay, I can't believe they had the hide to charge me so much for something that was out of my control. Staff were not helpful or sympathetic I the slightest.

Hello Ross, We're glad you enjoyed the rooms. In regards to the dry cleaning fee, the bed and duvet were covered in bodily fluids and heavily saturated. Our staff were not told what the fluid was by yourself or anyone you were with. Due to our hotel cleaning policy, health and safety of other guests and our terms and conditions that you signed, we had to charge for the intensive cleaning involved. We feel that this review is unfair as we did our very best and only charged (as per our terms and conditions) the cost price of the dry cleaning. We're very sorry that you were ill and we hope you are feeling better. If you have any further questions about the incident, please feel free to email us or call us. Thank you The MOSS Team.

The hotel was an excellent choice for us. convenient to access the places we wanted to visit by car each day, and walking distance to the CBD. The staff were extremely obliging and pleasant. Our room was very good, a little small for travellers with a few suitcases otherwise we were very happy. The food was fantastic, breakfasts were great and dinner was first class. Would definitely stay again
