Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Lodge was simple but complete with basic necessities that a traveler would need. It has a small fridge, microwave, iron and ironing board, kettle and hair dryer. Staff are very accomodating and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. Tea, Cofee, Sugar and Biscuits are free daily if needed. The place is quiet and you can get a good night sleep after a long busy day out. Most important is that the place is close to everything like the city CBD, pier, market and all kinds of restaurants and bar. I highly recommend this Argyle Motor Lodge in Hobart.

We stayed in Executive Queen room Feb 2024. Could not fault this room, it was very clean, very quiet, and very comfortable. Comfy queen bed, full adult-sized bathtub (shower over bath) small desk, small dining setting, comfortable 3-seater lounge. Distant glimpses of beautiful Hobart harbour. Thank you for a most comfortable stay.

Argyle Motor Lodge is perfectly located whilst in Hobart. Our room had everything to make our stay extremely comfortable… slept very well💤 A stroll across the overhead Argyle St footbridge takes you to Elizabeth St in New Town. where you will find IGAs Hill Street Grocer, Porters Liquor & an incredible French Patisserie Daci Daci ✅✅ Buses run along Elizabeth St into downtown Hobart every 10mins 0700- 1900 thereafter every 20mins. Bus returns from Elizabeth St outside Post Office in Hobart City Highly Recommend

I stayed 5 nights for work and cannot fault this place! I generally have trouble sleeping while I’m away, but man, I have slept like a baby! Also the staff here are amazing - cannot do enough for you. Easy access to the North Hobart strip, with a raft of restaurants. Must admit I just went to the Queens Head Hotel - amazing food at an amazing price.

My two week stay at the Argyle Motor Lodge confirmed for me that this establishment is, in my opinion, the best value accomodation in Hobart. The lodge is conveniently located for access to downtown Hobart, the northern suburbs and the major highways. There is a thriving cafe and restaurant culture in Newtown and North Hobart that is very convenient to the lodge. The front of house staff and housekeeping were accomodating and helpful. In reception, Yvette was on point in assisting with bookings, facilities and local knowledge. A first class representative. Selena and her housekeeping team were courteous and efficient in maintaining my suite. Of particular note and not always the case in suites with kitchen facilities, used cutlery is replaced with clean, paper packaged utensils. I highly recommend the Argyle for short or longer term stays.

A very comfortable motel in a quiet location - not super close to the city but we had a car so no issue. We had a family room with a queen bed and a separate room with two single beds which was a great configuration for our family. The staff were lovely and there was plenty of parking available. Would definitely stay here again.

The room was a generous size and very pleasant to stay in. The staff were super helpful, even hunted out a drying rack so we could catch up on washing without putting everything in the dryer. Unlike most places we stayed, the room actuated had plenty of PowerPoints and they were accessible. Yay!

We could not have been happier about our two day stay at the Argyle Motor Lodge in Hobart. Located about 35 minutes walk (all downhill!) from Hobart's waterfront, it has ample free car parking, big rooms and a friendly and helpful set of reception staff. There was a laundry for guest use ($7 AUS including detergent!) and our lage room had a fridge (with milk), kettle (tea and coffee provided) a hair drier, good wardrobe space, a large bed, a table for eating or working and a great bathroom with a bath and a shower. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and our room was serviced nicely too. Close by was a superb bakery serving drop dead gorgeous croissants and pastries and coffee/te which made a splendid breakfast. I jogged down to the waterfront one morning (and back, uphill). But we did have a car with us, which made moving around easier. We paid £237 for two nights bed only. A bit expensive - but not compared to other Hobart prices!

The bed was very comfortable. The heater worked wonders on the cold nights. The hotel is convenient to Hobart. The lady at reception was lovely and helpful. Depending on how busy the hotel is, the car park can be a bit tricky and the children arriving for school meant there wasn’t chance for a sleep in on a weekday. However, wouldn’t hesitate to stay again - great value for money.

Not knowing Hobart, I phoned the Tasmanian Travel & Information Centre to book accommodation and got a winner courtesy of the young man who took the call. The Argyle Motor Lodge was on a hill and the receptionist gave me a ground floor room from which I could see the city. There were sufficient parking spaces, several of which were under-cover. The motel was within walking distance - down hill - and a bus ride back - up hill - from the city centre. My room was comfortable and clean. It had a microwave and the usual small frig, tea/coffee and you could get extra milk from reception. There were several take-away food shops within a short distance from the Argyle Motor Lodge.
