Little jewel of a place. Got a bit if history to it which we loved and finished to a really high standard. We were in the 2 bed apartment (1 queen in a massive room and 1 twin also a great size) with direct access to the roof terrace :)
About 1km away from the harbour and great access to the A6 for your daily adventures.
The bathroom in this room is stunning complete with claw foot tub but forgot to photograph that!!
Even though there is a pub downstairs it was quiet and it was the morning traffic which got us up in the morning, which we don’t mind because we like to get up and out when we’re on holiday.
Would happily book again next visit.

What an amazing place. The staff and meals are absolutely amazing! The locally distilled Lager is amazing as well. So friendly clean and tasty meals. The staff go out of their way to help as well. Highly recommend, just for the meals and lager alone.

Surprisingly nice for a pub room with share bathroom. Staff really friendly and helpful. Room small but well appointed and best of all clean. Bed was comfy, bathroom just next door and room lead out onto balcony. Vaule for money, cheapest accommodation we had in tassie . Only downside is its a bit noisey but if your a sound sleeper wont be an issue. Ate dinner at bar, food was good and atmosphere was cosy. Had a few drinks and played the free pool table. Breakfast was included, basic cereal and toast with tea and coffee. As we were flying out early, they had a convenient check out were you put door card in box and exit through bar. Only other issue is parking, be prepared to move the car a few times . Would stay again, maybe get room with its own bathroom just for the convenience of not being or disturbing others.

We had a lovely night stay at the Tasmanian Inn... checking in late was no problem, and the room was cosy and warm - all we needed for a quick pitstop in Hobart. Rick even made sure we got our welcome drink on check out! Went back a week later for a drink and some tasty food in the bar. Highly recommend!

I came across the Tasmanian Inn by chance, i had left my accomodation to the last minute 90% of Hobart was booked out. I never like to stay at share bathroom accomodation, what a surprise the Inn was. On my arrival i found reception very friendly the rooms were immaculately clean as were the bathrooms and beds comfortable. Annie the housekeeper whom i met on departure should be complimented as her attention to detail should not be overlooked.
Unfortunately i did not get to drink at the bar or dine in the restaurant that looked popular and busy with locals. The hotel is situated a short walk from antiques and collectables, Elizabeth street and the fabulous State Cinema, I would not hesitate to recommend.

Me and a group of friend decided to pop by for dinner tuesday night and we were all amazed! We had heard good things about the Tas Inn, but when we tried it for ourselves we were tremendously impressed.
The bartenders were both amazing. They were so friendly and helpful and it was a pleasure to be served by them. There’s a really nice range and selection of alcohol. I was expecting just cascade and great northern etc but I was pleasantly surprised with with the mix of mainstream and more craft products
The food was absolutely delicious. We had a mix of everything between us and none of us wanted to share. The chips must be hand cut with love because they were fantastic. The steaks were cooked perfectly, the parmigiana was HUGE, and the philly cheese burger was remarkably delicious.
We will all definitely be coming back and recommending this place in the future. Keep up the good work team ❤️

We got in at 2 in the afternoon... there were NO staff anywhere! We had to call a number pasted on the front door(the person did not answer!!). Finally got through to another after which we were given a code to enter. Imagine standing on the sidewalk with luggage, tired, and in need of a good hotel!! Naah-ah.
The hotel is very old... and apparently, that's the charm... but to have verrry creaky flooring and no sound proofing is a nightmare to say the least! The cacophony from the road is non stop from 4.30am!!
We were so disturbed and the uncomfortable mattress did not help.
DO NOT be fooled by their parking information... there is NO parking!! You can park at Woolies across the road or in one of the two spots outside the Inn and move every 2 hours! If you are lucky, you can grab a spot at 6pm and not move till 8am(free) Or, pay for parking a way down the road which is so inconvenient.
There are no microwaves anywhere, except in the locked kitchen (i presume). If you have to keep your hotel unstaffed, this is the least you can do. A kettle doesn't heat meals brought from outside you know! Travelers don't always sit at a restaurant and eat.
The upside- 1. Close to town
2. Great steak (the one time we saw staff and hot food at the Inn)!!
Overall a bad experience... we read some good reviews and were expecting a great stay... we couldn't wait to leave!
We stayed in a little caravan park in Bicheno and that was soooo much more comfortable!!

Polite, friendly staff went above and beyond to ensure that our stay at The Tasmanian Inn was comfortable. Above a working bar and kitchen this establishment may not suit a younger family requiring a consistently quiet environment. We would however, thoroughly recommend this establishment for a stay or just a great meal (menu currently boasts two vegetarian options) if you are not concerned about the background noise of a working bar in the evening.

We stayed at the Tasmanian inn for a couple of nights. Staff was very friendly and gave us some tips on what to see in Hobart. Our room was comfortable with 2 singles beds. Bathroom is shared.
On the negative side, our room was very noisy due to traffic so I was not so great to have a good sleep.
