Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Smelt like cigarettes. Upstairs‘cottage’ room pretty basic amenities. You get what you pay for - at least the place is clean. Decent sized room with small kitchenette / microwave - room is poorly lit & hallway light basically non existent.

We stayed one night here, checked in late due to a late flight arrival. On booking the room from our home, the staff I spoke to were extremely friendly and helpful. On arrival to the room we found the room basic but very cosy, the heater and the electric blankets were already on , the room was lovely and warm. Their was tea/coffee making facilities, shower was good and found the room was clean and had everything we needed for an overnight stay. The linen was of good quality and the bed was comfortable. The views from the window were really nice, and on checking out the man at the desk was very friendly and helpful giving us local advice for our trip. Will stay here again when passing through Hobart.

We stayed at the Waterfront for 21 days, using it as a base for our road trip. We had two rooms between three of us, and the budget price couldn’t be beaten for this type of accommodation. The motel is of the old style but has been maintained quite well with bright and comfortable rooms. Room facilities are good, kitchenettes with toaster, microwave, plates and cutlery, plus a communal kitchen to use. The rooms and linen were very clean. We weren’t disturbed by any noise even when the motel was fully occupied(it’s very popular).
The location is excellent. There is a bus stop just down the road, the 561 and 562 buses run on the hour and get you into Hobart central in about twenty minutes. A shopping centre with a Coles and other stores is a ten minute drive away.
I enjoyed my stay, the staff were so pleasant and obliging. I would thoroughly recommend this motel.

I stayed here briefly (plumbing problem at home) so cannot comment on sleep quality. I had room 23, which was tiny (it was advertised as small) and had a double bed. Bed linen was clean and appeared to be good quality. Towels on the bed were folded in a most bizarre way, and they appeared to have been thrown down and crumpled, but were meant to actually look like that (reminded me of a sea creature.) The room was clean, as was the bathroom, with the exception of the entire floor of the shower bay, which was a yellow/tan colour. Maybe it was clean, but if it was, then it was obviously stained and really needs replacing. It was extremely off putting. Walls are thin and I heard the person in the next room showering. The male at Reception was quite dour. I did not have to stay the night as my water problem was rectified so I went home. Good value, but I would not stay here again. The room smelt of cigarette smoke, even though the property is non smoking.

We stayed here for three nights while exploring the area around Hobart. Our room had two single beds, a small table with two chairs and a couch. I liked the large window, making the room bright. Towards the door there is a small kitchenette: Extra sink (!), microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster. There was also cuttlery and plates to prepare our microwave dinners. Perfect for our purpose. The bathroom was small but well done, plenty of room to keep the toileteries. Also there is a line to span to hang some clothes - great idea! Everything was clean and seemed to be new. There was always parking for us and we slept well. We enjoyed our stay and it was a great place to crash out for the night after a day full of sightseeing.

It was a nice room, nothing fancy, but good and very convenient. The only tricky thing was the parking since seemed to have more cars than apartments. But besides that all good!
Location is very good, not in the heart of Hobart, but within easy and fast access to the city and to the highway.

What a great motel, and what an absolute bargain! A little out of Hobart, but with a bus to the city just down the road (last bus approx 5pm), perfect if you've got a car. The views from the deck are glorious and the staff were great. It's kept spotlessly clean by their phenomenal housekeeping team. Unbeatable for the price!

Rooms were clean, staff more then friendly, helpful & accommodating, however we were a group of 2 adults with 4 children & we ended up in 2 rooms with no adjoining door, meaning we basically had to lock kids in the room at night & take the key to the room (just in case). Other than that.... no hassles, wonderful place to stay off the main road/away from noise, with a nice quiet waterview & only 20 minutes to the airport, about 5 minutes to the city & 25 mins to Cadburys.
No complaints.

We stayed at this hotel over the last couple of nights and I am disappointed to report that it was extremely poor.

We booked the accommodation through their website which showed relatively modern bright and spacious rooms. On arrival we were informed that they did not have the same room available for the two nights that we had booked and we would have to move half way through our stay. This was annoying however the receptionist Robin did not seem to think this was an inconvenience at all and that we should just get on with it!!!

The first room we stayed in in the cottage was draughty and right by the back door so that as soon as the smokers went outside it wafted into our room. The bathroom was in need of improvement and a good clean. TV was not tuned in (small thing I know but just added to the annoyance of the stay).

The next day we had to move to our new room. As we were going out for the day we packed up all our things ready for the maid so that they could be transfered to our new room whilst we were out. I left a note and personally advised both reception and the maid herself that I had left some juice and milk in the fridge and could they please transfer this to the other room with our two small backpacks. On returning to the hotel later on reception was closed (only seems to be open between 9 and 5) and our new key was left in a box outside.... anyone could have taken it and got into the room!

We got into the room which was a hostel type room with bunk beds in the back and double in the front. Not too bad considering however it was occupied by many slugs in the bathroom on the carpets and in the kitchennette areas..... not the best!!! Also crockery in the kitchen was dirty and in need of replacment. To top all this off the maid had left our milk and juice out on the kitchen top.... thrown it there to be more precise and it was leaking everywhere..... we reported this to a lady who was finishing the laundry for the hotel who acutally just laughed at us and said oh dear never mind!!!

If you want to stay in a hotel which is clean, has considerate staff, slug free and good facilities then this is not the one for you and I would recommend you go elsewhere from our experience

Hi reception closes at 8pm. You will need to inform them of your late arrival and they will arrange for a key to be left for you or may even meet you at reception at that time.
