We stayed here with our dog stay when we were cold and tired after travelling all day. It has been one of the fondest things we remember from out trip to Tassie.

Clean basic rooms but central to Hobart's shopping district. Most importantly the owner has a studio room that is pet friendly. Continental breakfast is also provided.

It is also directly opposite the hospital and a great place for patients visitors to stay.

The owner and staff are friendly and approachable. Excellent communicators. We thank the owner for taking us in that very cold night in Hobart.

The only reason for not giving this place 5 stars is just there is no parking. However you can pay for a parking station down the road but it can work out quite expensive (on top of the$150 a night rate that we had to pay).

We see here that the rate is cheaper. If it was cheaper at the time we stayed we probably would have stayed longer.

we were very happy with this hotel , so agreeably surprised. Friendly and helpful staff, super clean. Free snacks available in the kitchen. Some rooms have a shared bathrooms others private bathrooms.
You recieve a code to open the door of the hotel and also a code to open you room door.
Front door is quite heavy to open and there is a step down into the hall , not a problem but good to be aware,
Highly recommend.

I took my son to Hobart and we stayed at the Argyle for 4 nights. Firstly, communication with Ange (the owner) was superb from our initial booking. Our room was exceptional (we had the King with ensuite) and what with the kitchen facilities and free breakfasts (my son enjoyed the Fruit Loops and Coco Pops!) this made the stay not only easy but also very very comfortable. It's also ideally situated in the CBD with a quality coffee shop next door, our favourite food stop 'Dave's Noodles' 20 steps away and a five-minute walk to the harbour. We took a ten-minute stroll to the Salamanca Markets on a wet Friday arvo. I highly, highly recommend this very friendly accommodation. Cheers Ange!!

The Queen rooms are quite small only enough room for a bed and bedside tables.
The accommodation is nice apart from the shared bathrooms kitchen and fridge.

There is also a key pad door locking system from the street and into your rooms which might be tricky for some people.

There Is no parking facilities however the Woolworths parking is next door to the accommodation at roughly $25 over night

There's a range of dine in or take away restraunts nearby.

That's being said I would not be coming here with a family or with my partner.
Because there has been a male guest waiting for females to come out of the bathroom.

Of course that perosn may not be here when you choose to visit but there are many others like that and I think you would be more comfortable in accommodation that you have your own kitchen fridge toilet and bath room facilities.

Located in the Hobart CBD, I stayed in a King room. More than enough space for what I needed. Staff are super friendly and nothing seems to be too much trouble regardless of how busy they are. The whole place is immaculately clean. Looks as though it has had a recent makeover with quality bathroom and other fittings.

Needed to be in Hobart for one night. Booked online, was sent codes to doors and room number via email. Room was fresh, clean and tidy. Shared bathroom, but they too were clean and tidy. If travelling on a budget I definitely recommend.

Great value family accommodation in the heart of the CBD. The room was spacious and clean. We had our own bathroom and even our own balcony. We stayed in Studio one. Own coffee machine with pods provided. Breakfast was provided. We could walk to a lot of the sites. We were there over the weekend, so found free street parking. There is also free street parking overnight. Would definitely stay again.

I booked two nights in a studio room with argyle accommodation through Wotif. I thought this was a regular hotel room with 24 hour front desk and check in available until midnight.
It turns out this is really hostel type accommodation with remote bathrooms. I should have twigged when the manager called me before we arrived and asked for credit card details. I suggested we could sort that out at 4pm when we arrived as I had already paid wotif upfront. I was told no one would be there at 4pm. When I asked how we would check in I was given door codes and lockbox access. The place was deserted and when we realized there was no bathroom in the room, I called the manager and checked out. I can’t really comment on the room as we did not stay there. We spent an extra $7 per night and checked into a regular hotel around the corner (with a bathroom!) All attempts to contact the management since have gone unanswered. Beware when you book with wotif or bookings.com or others. They take your money straight away, leaving you with few options for complaints. Argyle accommodation is not value for money, staff are unavailable and they advertise deceptively a private bathroom. I will not use wotif again, nor will I recommend argyle accommodation.

We booked studio one which had a private bathroom. The bathroom was not in the room (it was located down the hall) however having the private bathroom meant that we could leave our toiletries there which was great.

The studio was lovely. Very spacious, modern decor, and clean.

The property also has a communal reception area with a kitchen, table, couches and reading material. The street facing door requires a code for access to the reception area so you feel quite secure.

The location of this accommodation is awesome. There is a Woolworths about 100m away, and a car hire place and McDonalds just up the road. You are also right near the docks and a short walk to Salamanca Wharf.

Overall, we had a great stay at Argyle Accommodation.

Two days before my trip I receive a phone call from Wotif at 2am from Sydney. I naturally panicked with a call at this hour, thinking that my sister, who is in Denmark was trying to contact me via Sydney. One doesn't always think straight at 2am after being woken up. I also had an email from Wotif, saying the room was unavailable due to unplanned circumstances or a natural disaster! I didn't think there had been any natural disasters in Hobart, so I was wondering if they had double booked and wouldn't say so.
However, Wotif did book me into the Central Hotel, which is OK, but no easy parking.
Needless to say I would not recommend either Argyll accommodation or Wotif.com.
