Seven nights at this wonderful retreat, and we (couple) didn't want to leave. Currawong Lakes is about 2 hours from Hobart, and the last 12 km from Lake Leake is a well kept dirt road winding through state forests - we saw wallabies, birds, and even a wombat before we'd arrived. The forest opens to three lakes set in a...

Wow and thank you so much! We hope to see you again soon. Next time you can also pop down to Freycinet National Park to see Wineglass Bay and sample the wine region. Lot's more to see and do. Thanks again Richard and Meryn

A fantastic and welcoming experience in an idyllic setting. Worth making the trip to meet Richard and Merren, great hosts and enthusiastic about looking after you. My family loved the closeness to nature (teens without wifi!), they particularly loved the fly fishing along with the birds and wildlife. It is a true idyllic setting and we all recommend it for...

We stayed in a cabin with four adults and 11 months old daughter. Our hosts were very welcoming and had already lit the fire to warm the cabin. The home-made cookies were delicious. The cabins are well equipped and have fantastic views over the lake and into gumtree forests. There were no sounds but birds and the wind in the...

Australian wildlife - wallabies, wombats, rabbits, deer herds roaming around your back yard. Expansive lake scenery, trout fishing, a clay shooting range, long walks. No GSM, wifi for kilometers. If these sound your type of holiday, then Currawong Lakes is for you. Cabin was warm, clean and well equipped. My family including a 10 and 8 year old enjoyed our...

We spent one night in cabin four but regret not allowing more time to explore this place. The cabin was well kitted out and the fire was raging as we arrived. Being from Queensland though we did not have the skills to keep it going. Ted was more than happy to get it going again for us. It was very...

Had a fantastic time at this incredible location! Our cabin was beautifully appointed with a stunning elevated view across the valley and lakes. Our hosts were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Best part for us was an early morning walk to the lake where we saw a wombat and watched the numerous deer grazing on the hills! Our...
