The rooms are old and very basic, the phone and wifi non existent. I won’t be back. If the tariff had been cheaper and if modern communications were available the motel rooms might just scrape a pass mark. I won’t hold my breath!

I and my work colleague had the misfortune to stay here for 4 nights. The rooms were never serviced....beds not made...bins not emptied...towels not changed.....carpets not vacuumed despite being filthy! The taps dripped constantly in both rooms. Rooms were in need of a facelift including the stained vanity unit top. Drove up from Adelaide to be greeted by a male receptionist who we felt like we were bothering. That seemed to be the general attitude of most of the staff. Meals were to say the least average and tasteless, which is why we ate out on as many occasions as we could. We were up on business and will never stay here again. I have also made a company policy for all my staff NOT to stay here. Would highly suggest that you avoid this place at all costs!!

2 nights at the Opal in with a tour group, meals were good as was the main reception building ROOMS were well below average the sign said conserve water then on the same sign you had to run hot water for 10 minutes to heat, linen was old and thin, beds were terrible, shower screen was broken, power outlet for kettle didn't work. Nearly everyone in the groups had su standard rooms needing repair running water, running toilets, TV not working, no plugs in sinks. Would not recommend

Called in without a reservation. Reception said that there may be a problem as all of the sites large enough to take our mobilehome were already booked. After a heap of jiggling she thought our van would fit into the last bay that was left. Settled in nicely. The only thing to remember is that water is scarce and there is no provision anywhere to connect a hose. Amenities block is very neat, clean & tidy and due to some security issues, has keypad entry. Park is 200m from the Centre of town & across from the tourist info center. A HUGE thankyou to Christine at reception for all her efforts and assistance in finding us a place to stay. Recommend. Absolutely
