We chose the Ibis Hotel due to it being advertised as cyclist friendly and the fact that it had a good gym. The central city location was also very good, just a short walk to the Rundle Street pedestrian mall. The hotel is very modern and tidy with a friendly reception staff. I booked us a deluxe corner room which turned out to be fairly normal and still a bit on the small side – but the views were great in all directions. Everything was very clean, comfortable, and modern, with virtually no road noise. The Wifi was good and fast and the TV had plenty of Australian programming and also had chromecast. The buffet breakfast was excellent with plenty of fresh fruit as well as a good variety of hot dishes. The hotel, although advertised as cycle-friendly, wasn’t as well set up for this as other places we’ve been, with no dedicated facilities, but we were still able to get things done. There is a good area to assemble/disassemble your bikes outside on the gym balcony, as well as a water faucet for cleaning up. Other than that there are no real facilities. You can store your bike and bike bag/box in their luggage storeroom. The gym was pretty decent with a number of high-quality Technogym cardio machines, a big multi-gym, and a small set of dumbbells. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely recommend this place to other travellers.

Dear DanO68, Firstly allow me to thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. As a Hotel Manager of ibis Adelaide it certainly makes me happy that you enjoyed your stay with us, and that you found our staff to be helpful - that is exactly what we want for all of our guests! I did want to apologise if maybe there have been some issues with being labelled as "cyclist-friendly" that did not align with your expectations; it was certainly not our aim to mislead. We do host cyclists throughout the year and especially in January during the wonderful Tour Down Under, and have always been flexible in offering free spaces for bike assembly, bike and bike bag/box storage. We are also more than happy to have guests bring their bikes up to the room if they wish to do so. We have received feedback in the past that not all hotels have this flexibility. I think that these factors have contributed to the label, but if there is anything else we could look at doing for our guests, we are always very open to feedback. Thank you again for your lovely feedback and we hope to welcome you back in the near future! Kind regards, Daria Felde Hotel Manager ibis Adelaide

We live in rural South Australia and stay at the Ibis Adelaide as it is an excellent location so close to the mall and services. The staff are excellent and rooms clean and tidy. As a member you also receive 5% off bookings. There is not an on site carpark but the car park is located just before the hotel and a short walk. Breakfast is good also. We highly recommend stay at the Ibis!

Great hotel right in the city. Comfy bed . A really great breakfast with fruits yoghurs t as well as a fully cooked choice - very reasonably priced. Very helpful staff. The dining area at night is very dark- needs better lighting. Very easy to walk to nearby restaurants and tour operators will pick you up from here.

I think the parties downstairs were going on till 3 or 4am on NYE. Some parties happening on the Friday night as well And we were on the 13th level so you would hope we could avoid the noise. I could hear flushing from other rooms throughout my stay too.
Sheets also used harsh chemicals that caused me hives.

Seeing as Nye happens every year and there are other reviews about thin walls you would think this is a known issue. Ibis should provide their guests with ear plugs especially on these party nights. Nye costed a premium at 300 plus dollars so this really isn't acceptable.

Also note that Ibis now only offers 3-in-1 body face and hair wash attached to the wall. Probably related to sustainability that I can definitely support. However these products are drying and there is a reason little use 3 in 1 products. Bring your own toiletries.

Dear Janell2008, Thank you so much for taking the time to share some comments about your stay with us. I am very sorry to hear that you have experienced some noise issues and I wanted to apologise for any inconvenience or discomfort caused. Our central location is quite fortunate as we are close to all the main CBD sites whilst not having too many noisy venues close by, aside from one bar/restaurant. Due to intense popularity of the New Year's night, it does get booked for events and parties, same as all the other city venues. At the same time all the CBD hotels get full as well as so many people come to the city for a night of celebration. Due to this, hotel rates are relatively high whilst some degree of celebration noise is inevitable. We do understand that not all of the hotel's guests are here to celebrate which is unfortunate and we do understand that noise pollution will have an impact on their stay. We do have ear plugs made available to any guest upon request so in the future please do reach out to our Reception team and they would be happy to provide some. As for the 3-in-1 shampoo/shower gel, you are absolutely correct - it is a new Accor initiative from last year that is aimed at drastically reducing the use of plastic across the entire chain (products offered will differ from brand to brand). I am very grateful for your understanding and support of the effort although I can certainly understand that the product may not be for everyone. If you do find yourself booking a trip to Adelaide in the future and decide to give us an opportunity to serve you again, please do let me know and I will try to make your return stay more special! Sincerely, Daria Felde Operations Manager ibis Adelaide

The hotel is nice and clean. The room is quite small and minimalist but functional. There are vending machines next to the elevators if you want to buy water or a snack. The location is great as it is right in the heart of Adelaide, and has many bus stops nearby.

As a solo female business traveler, my stay at Ibis Adelaide on the night of the 24th September 2024 was an absolute nightmare. While I was asleep, two men were given access to my room by the hotel staff due to an unforgivable error. I was naked and asleep, only to be awoken by these strangers entering my room. This severe invasion of my privacy has left me feeling terrified, vulnerable, and deeply shaken.

Despite the gravity of this shocking security breach, the hotel’s management has done nothing to adequately compensate me for the emotional trauma or the loss of a full day’s work, as I was unable to function due to no sleep and the distress. Offering a one-night refund is a disgraceful and insulting response to such a serious incident.

Safety and security are fundamental when staying at any hotel, and Ibis Adelaide has demonstrated a complete failure in both. Their lack of accountability and refusal to properly address this situation is unacceptable. I would strongly advise anyone, especially solo travelers, to avoid this hotel at all costs.

Dear Seashellee, Thank you so much for sharing some feedback on your experience with us, As I have mentioned in our direct communications, we are all terribly sorry for the error made by the team, who were having some difficulty using our new operational system. The other guest immediately backed out of the room the second they realized it is occupied and our Duty Manager offer you an alternative room straight away so you can feel more at ease during the night. We take these matters very seriously and have re-trained the team to ensure this technical error does not occur again in the future. Once I have been notified of the incident I offered you a full accommodation refund as I believe it is only right that we do not charge you anything for the stay due to the stress caused. I am sorry that you do not feel that to be a fair solution and that you wish to have further monetary compensation beyond any expense incurred at the hotel. Once again, please allow me to extend my sincere apologies for the stress caused and I appreciate you sharing your honest comments. Sincerely, Daria Felde Hotel Manager ibis Adelaide

This is a pretty cheap hotel to stay at right in the CBD. I've stayed here twice, each time for just one night. The second time I stayed, I had to self-isolate until I got a negative Covid test result. The hotel was extremely understanding of the situation, and they had everything in place to make it smooth and easy.

The service has been fantastic both times, with the front desk folks being very friendly. James checked me in the second time and he's so helpful and just brings a good energy and gives a great first impression of the hotel. As mentioned, I was self-isolating, so I had to organise food to be delivered, which was brought up so fast every time I ordered.

The rooms themselves are bordering on small, but perfectly fine for a spot to rest your head if you're visiting Adelaide. The bed is really comfortable but curiously they only give you two pillows, which is a bit sparse. (But again, I asked for two more on each occasion I stayed here and they brought them really promptly.) The bathroom is again practically sized and the shower pressure is good in the shower. There are some great views to be had on the higher floors, and the floor to ceiling glass makes the room really nice to be in during the day, with the desk facing out the window.

It is usually at the 100 to 150 a night price point, which is incredible for the service and the quality of the room. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Dear timbotimpo, We appreciate you once again choosing ibis Adelaide for your trip! It is lovely to read that you enjoyed your stay with us although I am sorry that you had to self-isolate this time around. Luckily, the testing is done quite quickly at this stage and generally people get their result back within 12 hours; I hope that was the case with yours. I appreciate your kind comments about our team, especially James! I will make sure to pass your feedback on to him. Should you decide to come to Adelaide again, please contact us directly and let us know if there is anything we can do to make your stay even more special. I stayed for 6 nights on my first visit to Adelaide. Standard Ibis twin room, clean and functionable, comfortable bed with a fridge. I was in room 1115 on the 11th floor, which had a great city view, but the windows in the upper floors go down to floor level, so if you're not great with heights it can be pretty disconcerting, and you might want to request a room on a lower level. I kept the curtains pulled for most of my stay, which wasn't that bad since I was out during daylight hours anyway. My TV turned out to be dead, but within 15 minutes of my phone call to reception, a new TV (taken from another room) had been installed in mine, saving having to move rooms. The reception staff were excellent and very helpful with requests (shout out to the lovely Canadian guy). The location is perfect if you're travelling without a car. Close to the bus stops for the airport bus and to Handorf, just a couple of minutes walk to Rundall mall, and easy walking distance to all the main sights, or the transport to get to them. I didn't use any of their facilities or restaurant.

Ibis is located on Grenfell Street very close to Rundle Mall. It is well located and you can easily walk most places from here, if not the buses run close by.
I stayed for 4 nights in room 902 then another night in 1212- rooms were identical. Rooms are on the small side but are quite comfortable if you're not spending hrs there. There's a bench desk with swivel chair, a small bench seat, bed, clock radio, fridge and tv. Rooms are serviced daily and tea/coffee provided in rooms.
Staff were very helpful- big shout out to Mel who was super helpful with directions and suggestions.
If coming from airport get the J1 or J2 bus (for less than $4) to Currie St and walk the short distance to the hotel...saves a cab fare!
Hotel is next to Adelaide Arcade and there is a Coles close by (and Woolworths in mall too).

I'm not sure what the 'twin' room would be like- if it's the same size as the 'queen' room it might be a bit tight for two people. Perfect for solo travellers or a couple though.

Have stayed a few times and understand the price point of this hotel. Staff are good and some are even excellent. Rooms are small, clean and a little tired. No bottled water. Despite getting several room access cards I did the tour of hotel floors every time I used the elevator and strangely noticed others having the same problems with their card locking in a floor. My hotel door was much the same and usually took a few attempts to open and once I was trapped in the room and luckily the cleaning staff were outside and I called them through the door to open it. I think it's time for a change on my next trip to Adelaide.

Dear Wingz64, Thank you so much for staying with us again and I appreciate you still taking the time to give us some feedback. Please do accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused by the access key cards and their performance in the lifts and on the door lock. I can certainly understand that it would have caused some frustration and it is not the experience that we want any of our guests to have. As for the bottled water, whilst we still do offer bottled water in our vending machines, we are trying to move away from those in all other areas of the hotel due to Accor's commitment to go plastic-free by next year. I appreciate your honest comments about your experience and I again wanted to apologise for the issues that you have come across. I really hope that you will give us an opportunity to serve you better in the future. Kind regards, Daria Felde Operations Manager ibis Adelaide
