Detailed Reviews
We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. Our room was larger than newer hotels.
We had a lovely view out across the parks and Adelaide City with balcony
The bed and pillows were so amazingly comfortable that I enquired about buying their pillows but unfortunately they dont sell them.
Our room was serviced each day and cleaned extemely well with clean towels supplied each day. 4 coffee pods including decaffinated heaps of teas and sugar.
Being very warm we removed the doona but each day it was replaced and the bed so very neatly made.
Your cleaners are a credit to you as are the staff very obiging. A man with a large trolley of towels got off so 6 of us could take the lift together.
The staff in the foyer very obliging and lots of travels books with sights and things to see in South Australia and Adelaide.
One block from the tram to Glenelg Beach and lots of pretty parks across the road including a pretty chidrens play area under the trees with flying fox. So great for evening walks amongst the gardens and trees.
Negatives were it is not a new hotel by any means. Needs new carpet in the foyer and hallways as some are very stained and worn.
Shower is over the bath and no hand held shower head however handle to grap as you got out. The towel racks were rusting as was the sliding glass door on the bath and loose in the runners but at least the bath had a flat bottom so not slippery at all.
Parts have been refurbished
..cupboards..bedhead and desk and chair but the lounge was old and very low to the ground to sit on. The walls are very thin being able to hear anyone next door. Luckily only one night
Carpark only $5 so very cheap but you had to be back early as some were very tight and hard to get in and out of as our car was large and a luxury car but everyone was very respecful and took care.
It is not close to any good places to eat however the faster pasta up on the corner was not too bad . It does have a restaurant for dinners and breakfast and very reasonable room service
Would thoroughly recommend as we paid $105 a night which is very reasonable for nearly the centre of Adelaide.
Thank you we really enjoyed our stay

So before I start I need to acknowledge we stayed on New Years therefore Adelaide was practically booked out.
Last minute (New Years eve) called up and booked a room with 2 double beds (2 adults, 2 kids) booking was easy. Was offered a price that honestly is more than you’d generally be willing to pay for this hotel, but given how high occupancy the night was it was reasonably priced.
Check in was easy, was offered free parking (parking is very cheap if not offered free) we drew a first floor room. A slight disappointment but somebody has to get the short straw so no issues with this.
The room was comfortable, had a small balcony, enclosed so sage with the kids.
Went to the bathroom there were about 10 grapes on the floor which brings a couple of questions , one is who eats grapes in the toilet? The other is, how well cleaned is this place. From there little things stood out, there was coffee (or something like that) splattered up the glass door to the balcony. The next morning went to make a coffee using the pod machine. The coffee cups were still dirty from previous guests. Washed them. Made coffee. Whilst still in date the uht milk curdled when added to the coffee. Gave up and bought coffee.
Will acknowledge the breakfast downstairs was great and by booking the day before it’s a great price.
All in all I’d probably return, but wouldn’t rush, we did stay here about 6 years ago in a top floor suite after our wedding. That was before the change in name (and ownership I assume).

We choose to stay at The Sage when we come to Adelaide for a short stay. The rooms we have experienced are clean and pleasant. We love the opening sliding door onto a balcony, with views to the South Parklands and over the city. The queen bed is comfortable with fresh white linen and soft pillows. We appreciate the sofa and coffee table and also the coffee machine ( though I must remember to bring my own fresh milk ... the little UHT milk pods are miserable) The breakfast is reasonably priced and pleasant. Staff are helpful and pleasant. Parking on site is good value ($5 per night) despite being crowded. This time we took advice to find a park in the adjoining Chifley car park. This was much easier and not too far to walk through to The Sage.
A slight downfall is the shower over the bath in the bathroom. Apart from this, the bathroom is ok.
UHT milk in tiny pods. It’s easy to bring your own milk

We stayed 3 nights at the Sage Hotel whilst in Adelaide for medical appointments. The special deal price of $80 per night was important for us.
Off street parking for $5 per day was great.
We loved having a glass door opening to a balcony which overlooked a school and South Parkland. This also provided beautiful fresh air. As we were on the eighth floor, our room was quiet.
The room was quite spacious. The bed was comfortable with beautiful soft pillows. I appreciated the sofa and comfortable swivel chair and coffee table.
We enjoyed the generous breakfast which provided at a reduced price if booked the night prior.
The bathroom was clean, but could do with a bit of a fix up with grout. The shower over the bath is also not ideal. This didn’t worry us as the rest of the room’s positives made up for the minor issue in the bathroom.
For us, the location was excellent. The close proximity to the tram also makes a trip to the CBD, Glenelg, RAH, Adelaide Oval or to the Entertainment Centre very easy.
We will certainly stay at this hotel again.

Friendly customer service. Booked with Expedia Gold membership as this was. a VIP Expedia gold hotel which stated that it came with an upgrade if avail. No upgrade given at checkin (despite me noticing that the next room category was available for booking) but I'm not fussy, so I didn't say anything. Room was OK. Shower over the bath. Curtains were stained (please see images) with multiple stains; one looked like blood, the others looked like dirty fingers.. and this made the room feel a little unclean/unmaintained. Bin liners hadn't been put in well and I had to reach into the bins and rearrange them myself as they were puffy with hair and hadn't been placed properly, holding very little rubbish. Bed was comfortable. and. Shower pressure was good. Amenities were fine. Quiet, good nights sleep.
Had a $15 room credit. I was told that I could use this then and there at check in, so I grabbed two items totalling $12 to use my voucher. This wasn't put through properly and it was charged to my card, which I discovered days later. After an hour of chasing it up, it was finally refunded (by a lovely staff member, he had an accent so that's the only way I can praise him by identity in this review). He was prompt and wonderful in fixing this up for me..but still, this was a stay that did cause me a problem. There are other properties around for very similar prices which offer rooms which are cleaner, with proper showers and the same amount of space. A little maintenance would go a long way here guys. I'd stay again if the things listed in my review were fixed. Thanks!

See attached photos for our "deluxe balcony twin" room. Being located on the first floor we had a magnificent view of a fence at a water pipe. Furthermore there were cigarette butts littered all over the balcony which apparently are not part of the cleaning services.
Bathtub was large but had no plug so unable to use it. Housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired - vacuuming not done. TV advertises multiple channels but in reality only free to air available.
Breakfast was complimentary which is a good thing since it was almost completely cold (sausages were also barely cooked).
Pillows were extremely uncomfortable and better belong in a hospital.
On the plus side, staff very helpful, excellent location, free on site parking, good value, but all of these sadly outweighed by the notable negatives mentioned above. Would not recommend.

Hi 56jasonl Thankyou for your review and feedback. Im disappointed that we missed the opportunity to have you leave with a more positive experience. I have shared these photos with our housekeeping team as this is certainly not the standard we expect of our team. I thankyou for advising us so we can work on improving our internal cross check measures. Its wonderful to hear however despite this that you found our staff helpful and the location convenient. I do hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide us an opportunity to improve on your initial visit.

First time staying at this location and staying at many Adelaide hotels. We struggle to find accommodation that is reasonably priced that can accommodate our two children with separate beds
We stayed for one night with our two tween children. Price was reasonable for a two bedroom room complete with bath and a second toilet! Bedrooms each had a TV which was great for the kids and adults having separate evening entertainment.
Restaurant served lovely breakfast and dinner. Dinner menu was limited and pricy but plenty of other options nearby if you want a cheaper alternative.
Directly across the road Is a playground suitable for younger and older children. We also did the Adelaide tree climb which was a 10 minute walk across the parklands.
In the parklands are soccer, football and basketball facilities so if you have active kids bring a ball and they can access easy free entertainment very easily
Short walk to the tram if you want to head into Adelaide city
Highly recommend this location for families and we will definitely stay again.

The room was clean and comfy, with two double beds which fit 4 of us (2A and 2C) easily. Breakfast is good, you get what you get for big breakfast, plus some baked stuffs. parking onsite was easy and $5 parking charge per day was reasonable to me. Hotel was in front of children playground and short walk away from South Terrace Tram station. the swimming pool was at Chiffley hotel next door so its quite weird to walk on street in swimgear to next door so can be inconvenient to some.

I was booked and had paid for 3 nights in a suite ,At check-in I was unable to give them a $200 deposit , so was asked to cancel the booking because they would not allow me to stay .As I had already paid and it was past the free cancelation period I was concerned. but Jeanette the manager assured me that they would give Agoda their permission to issue a full refund. I was not refunded and the hotel kept the money. As one of the nights I was using my great state voucher, I was allowed to stay in another room type, that way they could have a $100 deposit for the nights stay. I paid them the $50 extra and was put in a room that was right next to the elevator .The bed head was placed on the same wall as the elevator . I went there for some peace and to relax, not to listen to an elevator constantly clanging. Given what had taken place earlier this insult just added fuel to the fire so I expressed this to Jeanette and was told she was helping me by giving me this room, then said I was being rude to her because I was angry and she ended the conversation. My stay here lasted approx 1 hour and in that time I was forced to share an over crowded elevator with many staff members , that laughed at the mention of covid safety distancing. NOT FUNNY ! The pens are passed from person to person with no replacements or cleaning in between guests.

We chose The Terrace Hotel in South Adelaide as it looked a quiet convenient location opposite beautiful gardens … unfortunately the view from our room was far from picturesque - and not quiet.
We stayed on the first floor on the west side of the hotel and to our annoyance discovered our balconies butted up against a huge, ugly, corrugated wall. The wall appeared part of the hotel kitchen rooftop infrastructure and blocked any view whatsoever of the outside world, and restricted daylight.
To make matters worse a refrigeration compressor unit was mounted on the balcony adjacent to the beds, which was unbearably loud and ran day & night making it near impossible to sleep. The compressor unit was labelled as servicing the restaurant bar fridges and looked like it had been there a long time – so surely management were aware of the noise intrusion on the room.
We asked to be moved but no rooms were available, and were offered earplugs and a complimentary breakfast which did zero to change the noisy environment we found ourselves stuck in for 2 nights – thank goodness we didn’t book a longer stay.
My suggestion to hotel management is to remove the offending compressor unit or soundproof the room, or at least pre-warn guests that noise intrusion might be an issue for them. As for the gigantic wall enclosing the balconies - well I don’t think much can be done about that but it might be considerate to alert guests about that too.
Overall, the staff were polite and attentive, but unfortunately our experience made for an unpleasant and uncomfortable stay, and we will not be back.
