Oaks Adelaide Horizons Suites stands out for its prime location, which guests find perfect for city exploration and easy access to public transport. The spaciousness and general cleanliness of the rooms earn positive remarks, as do the in-room kitchen facilities and available parking. However, some guests express concerns over the aging decor and malfunctioning appliances such as air conditioning and TVs. While the service receives mixed reviews, with some praising the helpfulness of the staff, others have experienced issues during check-in and with the consistency of daily cleaning. Additionally, there are criticisms regarding the hotel's value for money, with instances of overpricing and dissatisfaction with advertising accuracy.

Location is central and an easy walk to Rundle Mall and the awesome cafe/ restaurant precinct in Rundle St and Ebenezer St area. However, what we did not know was that it is also adjacent to the red light district, only one street away which many rooms look down on. All night noise and lights flashing. NOT GOOD. I had booked a 2 bedroom/ 1 bathroom apartment for 2 couples. However, when on the website reading the fine print I realised there were some 2 bedroom/ 2 bathrooms units available but not advertised. When I tried to change the booking the first person I encountered was most unhelpful and refused to do so because we had already paid in full. However, Stef was a ray of sunshine when I phoned the next day. Nothing was a problem and she upgraded us (and we paid the difference on arrival). We felt these rooms were rarely used, as they are not advertised as being available. Therefore it seemed in need of a good spring clean. Stef was also awesome when I left a brace behind that I needed for my health. She went beyond the call of duty and posted it back to me in NZ. The best staff member I have ever experienced in any Oaks we have stayed at. Thank you Stef !!!

We stayed utilising the first round of the great state vouchers. Check in was quick along with directions for parking & finding our apartment.

It wasnt exactly what we wanted, as we had requested a north terrace view but instead were overlooking Hindley street. It wasnt too much of a deal, however, at a night time, to have the blinds open, with the beautiful summer evening breeze, the lounge/sitting area was lit up from the adjacent Crazy Horse neon sign. Yes, we could of closed the blinds, but whats the point of booking a high rise accommodation facility where you can't enjoy the city lights on the horizon (no pun intended) without being blinded by lights!

The actual apartment was a corner one, which gave the apartment a feeling of being long, with a small balcony at the back. The two bedrooms were clean & fitted well with floor to ceiling windows. The Bathroom however was a let down. The spa didnt work & was a shame as i wanted the kids to experience it, but generally just needs a bloody good clean and some attention to detail. The foyer area within the apartment was a waist of space, and could maybe be utilised a bit better with strorage, coat hooks etc, but thats just nit picky!

No facilities were/are open because of the restrctions that they had in place with the good old virus and the main reason we booked, was because of the pool, but werent notified otherwise!

Thanks for the stay & also late check out. Probably wouldnt stay again, but would recomend if you literally just need a bed!

This is a typical older apartment style hotel that showed plenty of signs of heavy use throughout the room. The real problem though is the unrelenting noise from nightclubs in Hindley St making sleep impossible. Even on the 17th floor the music was so loud it was easy to identify the name of the song. At 130am I gave up on trying to sleep and asked for a new room but was declined as the manager on duty felt the noise was typical.

Seeing as you won’t get a new room, even if the hotel is not full, if you are unlucky enough to end up on the Hindley St side of the building, I would advise to strongly avoid this property at all costs.

Rooms are functional and have what you need for an extended stay in Adelaide with generally excellent views from higher floors. Apartments are around 15 years old now and don’t seem to have been refurbished since they were built.

Still very functional but old TVs that won’t even display HD n channels, antiquated DVD players that don’t work and are useless anyway and apartments that are looking a bit rough around the edges maintenance wise. Fridges and Microwave also around 15 years old. Cleaning is generally ok but seems a bit superficial (despite Oaks “COVID Sure Stay” advertising in apartments) with smudges and dust around the apartment.

Great location, parking expensive (around $30 a day). Lack of amenities and cleaning can get a bit tiresome after an extended stay but, that said, good vale by Adelaide standards with not a lot of competition...

We loved our 1 bed room studio, it was high up and very clean and modern.
The staff at reception were all so nice and helpful and gave me extra milk etc and minding bags , calling taxi was no problem.
The bed was fab and mini kitchen but only 1 wine glass, bit weird. Simple meals could be prepared in the kitchen.
Also we especially wanted a washing machine but ours was faulty as in you couldn’t open it. We should not have been given a faulty machine in a room. Combo washers dryers are very fiddly and a hotel needs a simple machine and simple separate drier.
Only other problem is the old fashioned shower in bath, not great if you are older, so these really need a Reno.
I would stay again though, for the great location and most of the facilities.

Early flight booked & the airport's a long way from home. Rather than taxi or inconvenience any family members or friends we thought we'd head to a nice hotel in the city - short trip to the airport then & a reasonable taxi fare. We're quite particular about what we expect/like & are travelling & staying in hotels more & more - this stay is by far one of our favourites. Fantastic value. Well done Oaks.

If you are looking for somewhere in the city to stay then we recommend this accommodation. Location wise it is close to almost everything… city shopping’ restaurants, transport, arts centre, museum, zoo, football stadium, etc.
We only stayed overnight as it was a quick visit this time, but we will stay here on any return visits. The staff are very courteous, and helpful and actually looked liked they enjoyed their working there. The room was huge and well fitted out. It had a kitchenette which we didn’t use but had the essentials, The entire apartment was very clean and tastefully furnished, the bed very’ very comfortable. I even indulged in a spa at the end of a big day which was very very nice and worked well.
Negatives were that the toilet tank button needs fixing as it required us to tap it several times after every flush to stop the toilet dripping and the bedroom TV didn’t work. We didn’t report it at the time as we felt it just didn’t warrant dragging some serviceman out of their home on a Sunday evening…. and we wanted a bit of peace and quiet and not having to deal with servicemen trying to fix things.

Personally, I would have liked access to a bathrobe and shower cap (neither of which we brought in our overnight ), or an extra bath towel none of which were available in the apartment. It’s a quiet apartment and although it had a small balcony’ the view from it didn’t inspire us to use it. But none of these are deal breakers to us,
Breakfast can be had two doors up on the ground floor of their sister hotel at the Coffee Club or you can have it delivered to your room for a small charge I believe.,,. we went there and had a really lovely breakfast before heading out to our meetings. We will be back thank you.

The most major tip I can give you (as I had LOTS of trouble with this) ..... is to keep your room/building access cards AWAY from anything magnetic. I had loads of trouble with this and had to visit the reception desk a number of times to get a new card. BUT - it was my fault. My phone has a magnetic cover and I always had my card next to or near my phone. Result? My phone cover would deactivate my card. This was causiung me some real problems and I was inadvertantley "blaming" the reception people for not activating my card properly. And then when I realised what I was doing .... I was embarrased. Hmmmmm. Lessons for young players I think. Sorry and my most humble apologies to the reception desk at the Oaks Adelaide Horizons Suites - Adelaide

While the location is great, the customer service is disgusting. The one bedroom executive apartments have spa baths that apparently do not work and you are not told this at check- in. Instead you find this out after you have filled the bath and press the button and then trip a fuse. I spoke to the man at reception, only to be told that “we do not advertise our rooms as spa rooms”and that the rooms are privately owned”. That was all he said, no apology for the inconvenience nothing. This should have been pointed out upon check in. I do not care about what is advertised, what I do care about is that if there is a spa in a room it should be in good working order and if they do not work then be up front at check in and explain this. I will not stay there again.
