Mantra Hindmarsh Square Adelaide garners compliments for its friendly service and prime central location, beloved by guests for its proximity to key attractions and transport links. Spacious, modern rooms with convenient amenities like kitchens are a highlight, though some visitors point out maintenance and soundproofing issues.
While the hotel's overall cleanliness and inviting atmosphere receive positive remarks, the value for money is questioned due to pricey parking and additional charges for amenities that are typically standard.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed for four nights in winter, and we were very happy with our experience. The hotel is well located, an easy walk to the main city attractions.
The carpark was very tight, but we were able to fit our SUV with a bit of maneuvering. Access to the carpark from the hotel was very convenient, with no need to exit the building as the lifts go straight down
The breakfast was very good, with a reasonable selection and a chef who made eggs and pancakes to order
The staff were friendly and helpful

Booked Mantra Hindmarsh at the last minute for 2 nites initially as we were dissatisfied with the hygiene and safety of the serviced apartment which we'd pre-booked before our trip. Found the hotel spacious with fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities ... a very important feature as we'd 2 young children. The hotel was centrally located next to Rundle Mall, so shopping was convenient. Parking was available at AUD25 per 24 hours. English breakfast was served daily which was quite nice and at a discounted rate for Accor member. The hotel staff (counter, cafe and housekeeping) were friendly and helpful. Decided to extend for another 5 nites as we found our stay pleasant.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom Parkview Suite which was clean and comfortable. One bedroom had a Queen bed and the other one had a single bed, both rooms had wardrobes. The bathroom was fine with good water pressure and toiletries and hairdryer supplied. The living area was good and well set out with a bench and stools that you could use with a laptop or for eating at, a good TV, a small couch and a balcony. There was no outdoor furniture on the balcony but you could take a stool out if needed, and nice to have fresh air. The power point at end of bench seating has two USB charging points so useful for devices. The free Wifi is fast and the climate control works well, tho the display shows current room temperature so it’s a bit confusing when you adjust it.
The kitchen is small with jug, toaster, microwave, fridge, and two hotplates. Our apartment had a single dish-drawer dishwasher but it wasn’t working. Detergent, cloth, scourer, tea towel and rubbish bags were supplied as well as tea and coffee. We needed top-up supplies for detergent and toilet paper which were easily available at reception. We only had one small frypan, no pots and minimal utensils – I think this should be rectified. It’s a simple fix to supply at least one frypan and one pot and an egg slice or similar to every apartment that has cooking facilities. Also some larger glasses would be good (for G&T of course), we were able to get some from reception.
Overall we were very happy with our apartment for a 4 day stay and the staff were helpful and friendly and let us have a late check-out. The restaurant downstairs is currently only open for breakfast on some days of the week, no room service is available and no information at all supplied in our room. There are several nice restaurants within a few minutes walk so it’s not a major inconvenience unless you’re arriving late at night. The location is great with shops and supermarkets just around the corner. We didn’t have a car but there is free night parking on the street at the front of the hotel. We would stay at Mantra again if in Adelaide.

Paid for a "family" room. This is actually two individual rooms with separate key entries. But we didn't get that. When I called to ask where the second room was, the lady appeared with the second key. I asked where the twin beds were and was told housekeeping would have to come up and separate the beds. Now whilst all this was done relatively quickly, the housekeeper could not have been more put out if she'd tried. She was on her phone and refused to get off when I spoke to her. I had to ask for toilet paper for one of the bathrooms as there was next to nothing left on the roll. And not one person bothered to follow up with us. And make note the in house restaurant is closed on a Sunday night.

We stayed in a Park View Suite on the sixth floor for 3 nights. It was super clean, very comfortable and the view over the parklands was lovely. The bed in the main bedroom was a queen but surprisingly comfortable - I hate hard beds but my husband prefers them, but we were both very comfortable so it suited us both!
Our deal specified no housekeeping, but we were pleasantly surprised they came in daily to empty our bins and just do a very basic tidy/refresh which was appreciated. The kitchen is well appointed with everything you need, the fridge while not full-size is still plenty big enough for bottles of sparkling wine and everything you’ve got. It also has a small freezer tray so we could have ice for drinks and freeze our ice packs for travelling.
The bathroom very well appointed, thank you for the good quality hairdryer.
The water pressure and shower both excellent. The in-house toiletries a nice quality and fragrance.
The only negatives I can note were the small sofa, it’s both shallow in the seat and has a low back so it wasn’t very comfortable but it was ok. And the tv reception was very average.
We didn’t use the car park as parking along the front of the hotel is cheap on weekends and we were able to get a park here each night for free. The location is spot on for a short walk to the the mall, Rundle street and the CBD.
The cleanliness, helpful staff and facilities guarantees we will definitely return.

This is a place we have stayed at a few times over the last 20 years to visit family but it had been seven years since our last visit.
During this time the rooms have been refurbished and they are much more functional. There is a proper kitchenette in the one bedroom apartments with stovetop and drawer dishwasher for a bit of self catering.
We usually end up with an apartment at the back of the hotel with a view over the carpark next door. Not great for sitting out on and cigarette smoke was blowing in from somewhere.
The basement carpark is very tight for access and carparking. Your skills will be tested if you have a big vehicle.
However the location is very central, with everything an easy walking distance. Its also very quiet.
The restaurant on the ground floor is no more which is a shame but there is a takeaway cafe there.
The bathrooms are still stocking the small bottles of toiletries. The Mantras in Melbourne have dispensers and this property needs to embrace that.
This is still a good place to stay and we will be back.

Our stay was faultless, staff are exceptional, room was spotless and very well maintained, very close to everything with a central CBD location. Breakfast was the best we have had, quality food and very fresh. As a Platinum Accor plus member of 30 plus years, Mantra Hindmarsh is definitely the best experience we have had in recent years.

Check in was easy, the staff were great, the location was amazing, only a block from Rundle mall. But the in room experience, was just not impressive.
When we finally worked out how to connect the phone to the TV so we could watch something, it disconnected us once we left the room never to allow us to re connect again.
The cot we organised wasn't even set up properly and the guy they sent up to fix it, had no idea what he was doing and made it worse. Thankfully they replaced it with a new one.
We called on Saturday afternoon for an extra towel for our toddler, and I am still waiting for it...
They made up our room on Sunday while we were out and there was no top up of the toilet paper or shower cap used.
There is rust and cracks around the shower head, mold on the floor of the bathroom tiles, I could go on, but i wont. Do yourselves a favour, spend a little more money and go elsewhere.

Check in was pleasant and the manager took control of our check in. The room was older but very spacious and the hotel was in a great location. Our only complaint was the restaurant, we had a meal on one night and I cannot find one thing that I can saying anything positive about. Our order had to be taken multiple times as the waiter kept forgetting, same with our drink order, when it eventually came, the order was still incorrect and the steak special of the day, was not amazing at all and nowhere near cooked to what was requested, the burger bun was stale among other things, at this point we were done and decided to just pay and go back to our room. Would never have food there again.

The independent supermarket is close enough to buy ice cream and dash back to the hotel without fear of melting! We did this run in 39 degree Celsius heat.
Hi, I emailed them as well about a car park and they didn't email back so I rang them instead. The hours of reception are 9am to 5pm Australian Central Standard time. (08) 8412 3333
Yes, it's good security measure
Mantra Park view has 1 queen size bedroom and 1 single bedroom. The apartment is very spacious includes an open plan living room with kitchen and balcony opening towards the park.
Hi Elliot,
No, we are not a quarantine hotel.
