Positives: Comfortable bed, big TV, good location (although the CBD is generally grungy and wouldn't want to walk alone at night), nice view overlooking the Adelaide Oval (if you don't mind viewing through unwashed windows).
They were even unable to offer a copy of a street map for travellers. We would not return to this alleged 5 star hotel.
To no fault of there own, we were woken by ridiculous roadworks, we were moved promptly but did so in the middle of the night. The service we acquired was great, We were offered a free breakfast to compensate but with all due respect, with the money we paid that should of Been inclusive. Not really impressed guys, were all living through such tricky financial Times and I think people expect abit more from there money.
When we arrived, the room we were allocated, numbered 21, was so near the elevator that every elevator trip filled the room with noise that would have meant sleep was impossible. Asked to change rooms and was allocated room 06. So first lesson for other travellers, ask for a room numbered 1 to 10, to be as far away from the elevator as possible.
The room was standard, double bed, three chairs, table and writing desk, colour tv, bar fridge, tea, coffee and wines. So far as expected. Bed was comfortable, four good pillows.
Bathroom as standard, nice towels, selection of soaps and shampoo.
Breakfast was, in my mind expensive for what it was. We had continental on only the Sunday , $28 per person. Barista coffee was an additional $5. Plenty to choose from, fruit, breads, etc. However, during the week there are many cheaper cafes around the area which we used.
The one issue for us was that when we arrived, there was a scrunched up sheet in the hallway, over a tray of dirty dishes, obviously someone's food service. The tray was removed the next day but the sheet stayed for three days. During that time, food was delivered and collected from the room on each day. In the end we took a photo and showed the staff downstairs and hey presto, it was gone. This though symbolises the attention to quality. Why food staff could not pick it up or arrange for house keeping to come and pick it up, I don’t know especially since housekeeping went past there every day.
So overall, my feeling remains and poor to average, even though the ad blurb claims a high standard establishment.
Would I come back?
It is centrally located but then so are others, so probably no, I would not come back.
On the first night our toilet had a leak and that took a few hours to sort out.
After room service came through during the day the milk was not replenished.
We realized we had forgotten an item of clothing a few days after check out. We had to call to see if it was there. I would have expected them to call us to let us know that we had left something. When we went to pick it up, they had put it in a rubbish bag which was very sticky. I’ll never stay here again, very disappointed.
