As a quarantine "guest" I can only talk about the room I was basically "imprisoned" for 15 days. I haven't been to the pool or any other part of the hotel complex. At the moment there is a big construction site in front of the hotel. The double windows swallow most of the noise but at the cost of fresh air. At least you can open it a little bit. The windows of my room were so dirty that I cleaned them myself with toilet paper. It was just unbearable. There are black curtains which can make the room completely dark even at day for a better sleep. The room is equipped with an a/c, sufficient light sources, a desk, some chairs, ironing equipment, a safe box, a small fridge, a kettle some cups/glasses and cafe/tea sachets. There are sufficient power plugs and even USB-A plugs near the bed. Unfortunately the power plugs are not international so you might need an adapter. The bed itself is big and comfortable. The bathroom is not made for two people but functional. The TV was completely framed in a wooden box, not particularly ugly but the sound is muffled and you have no chance for HDMI, USB or whatever physical input. The only chance you have is Screen Mirroring if you have a compatible device. The Wi-Fi reception is excellent however their router network itself suffers regular disconnects lasting from a couple of hours to a whole day and night. Within 2 weeks there were only about 7 days without any disconnects.…
Came into the room and noticed hairs on the telephone keypad, looked closer and saw food crumbs. Ewwww. This is revolting. Obviously not touched since the previous guest. This is bad enough in normal times but this is meant to be a quarantine hotel. Should I share my photos with SA Health? Mechanical sounds from above - bad enough to vibrate the desk and keep me up at night. Took a week for staff to listen to me, care and move me. Cold water came to trickle or stopped on two occasions. Hot water too hot - scorching infact (- isn't this meant to be regulated?). Maintenance person called to look at the problem but did virtually nothing and declared that 'you should be able to have a shower'...difficult when the water trickles down the wall. Problem turned out to be related to vibrations on the roof. Food is cheap and unimaginative. School camp quality at best. By the end of my stay I was throwing 90% of food into the rubbish. Is this normal standard for Stamford Hotels?…
I was allocated this hotel for hotel quarantine. The room I was allocated was an adequate size and it had a window that opened. The only problem was my room was filthy. There was brown sticky liquid at the top of the wardrobe, sticky material in the food drawers and part of a chilli, chest hairs in the drawers where I should have put my clothes and crumbs in the chairs. I was changed to another room within an hour or so of arriving. The duty manager had not checked that the room I was being transferred to was clean and unfortunately for me it was dirtier than the first one. There was a desk chair covered in light coloured hair and white marks, pubic hair on the toilet seat, crumbs in the drawers, the cutlery was dirty, yoghurt on the bed head and the carpet was full of dust. I found a black long hair in the bed (I have blonde hair) and a large coffee/blood stain on the mattress protector. I highly suspect that I slept on the same sheets as the person before me. There was also an open box of bandaids under my bed. Luckily for me I was transferred to a wonderfully clean hotel after my family and I complained to the hotel and the government. If I had booked to stay in this hotel I would have walked out, but I was there for quarantine so I had to stay. The staff are very kind, however as there is no current manager except for department managers, there is no leadership. There are huge breaches in infection control from cleaning staff, as they are not actually cleaning rooms or changing sheets after guests leave. I seldom my write bad reviews, however, I feel that nothing is being done about the lack of cleanliness. I have complained via email to the government and I know several other current guests at this hotel have too. In my opinion it is not fit to be a quarantine hotel and it needs to be shut until they have a system in place and effective cleaning methods to keep guests, employees and the public safe.…
Just spent 14 days quarantine in this hotel and cannot believe the disappointing food served up by a supposed 5 star hotel if they are under instructions to provide below standard food because of the COVID situation I say they should be ashamed of themselves. The room was ok but my advice if you want to enjoy the culinary delights of Adelaide cross this hotel off your list management obviously do not care.
We stayed here recently for 2 weeks mandatory hotel quarantine. The staff were amazing. Very warm with every interaction. Very good communication from the team & they were helpful with our many requests. The rooms are a little dated but very clean & comfortable. We had a spa suite which included a lounge area & dining table. It was very spacious. Lots of room for our two kids to run & play. Great location in the heart of the city. Food from the hotel was fresh & of great quality. Really recommend staying here once it’s available again for leisure as the staff are so lovely.
