We arrived, was given a room, unlocked the door and was greeted with a trashed place full of rubbish, beds and chairs upended, reaking of weed.

Given another room.
Desk was broken. Walls covered in slimy hand prints. Vomit down from of toilet bowl and drawers full of dirt and grime. Fridge had sticky stuff in it.

Great location to casino, rundle mall, festival theatre etc. Staff were very friendly and accomodating but their hygeine practices need to be evaluated.

Quite possibly equal to or worse than the worst place I have ever stayed in anywhere in the World !! Emergency overnight trip to Radelaide on of all weekends during the 'Fringe'. Our normal goto places where booked so we decided to stay the night at Cosmo On Bank without doing any research and leaving it until late.
As seasoned travellers that do not need to save money or argue we should have walked away after we saw our room. It's all about location and let's just say that just around the corner is Adelaide's alternative and seedy area that is thick with noisy mischief. If you like the smell, sights and sounds of people gone feral and you want to listen to their entertainment then this is the place for you. The entrance to this place sums it all up as it swings open the reception is cramped, dated and unwelcoming - person at reception was pleasant but the look on her face told us that we where not going to be happy. Taking the filthy antique lift to our floor it was obvious that we where the only ones on it. Musty, dark, dirty smelly you name it and we had not arrived at our room's door. On entering we where lost for words and making a pact that we would stick out the night and learn our lesson we freshened up and went to where we had to be. Coming back late so that we had less time to be in that awful room we were kept awake by the street life until the early hours the noise then transitioned to the rattling of bottles and emptying of bins followed by some very healthy dust blowers. Yes then the partying started again. Couldn't wait to leave this hideous place - I do feel sorry for the young ladies that work on the desk - I am sure that they see it all. I find it hard to understand how this place is allowed to operate. A cracker location with a solid building that once refitted would be an absolute gold mine. In it's current state I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Management please reply if you wish I would be happy to hear from you.

The lobby doesn’t feature in any of their online photos, and for good reason. The lobby couch has more grease stains than a Maccas paper bag. The reception staff was actually the caretaker who happened to find reception unattended. He was friendly and called for someone to help us check in. The second person was friendly and helped with the check in provided but was unable to unlock the box with the room keys as he didn’t have a master key having just accepted another job somewhere else.
Finally checked in to go up the the third floor in a lift that was several decades older than I was and emerge on a floor which was clearly a clumsily refurbished office building complete with the ambient overhead lighting known as ‘a la fluoro’. Our room was at the end of the hall and spacious but without any way of locking the door from the inside which I was keen to do (a heavy armchair sufficed). The beds appeared recently made with clean linen and were the best things in the room. The beds and pillows were comfortable but the double bed had one quilt laid across the bed so you needed to choose whether your shoulders were warm or your feet - it didn’t stretch to both. Walls with recent plastering work, waiting to be painted, lights not working, a bedroom with no door but the hinges still in the wall. I’ve seen better bathrooms in youth hostels and the kitchen sink was something out of suburban 1970s. The couches appeared to be of the same vintage as the lobby couch although a little easier on the greasy and a little more of weird dark texta marks. Theres a hole in the ceiling behind one of the blinds, and such a variety of ceiling panels it could be an eccentric vintage collection, if in better condition. There wasn’t a surface in the room which wasn’t scuffed, marked or damaged in some way including the windows which were covered with a tinting which distorted the view of the outside.
For the price, I’d expected cheap and cheerful, being located about one block off the end of the main shopping mall, and near the station. Was cheap, definitely was not a cheerful experience.

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at, the warning signs were there as soon as you walk in the lobby. It was dirty, disorganised and some of the the other guests who were coming and going looked dodgy. The lift was dirty, the hallways were dirty, carpet sticky underfoot, the rooms were just as dirty, dated and generally rundown. You can’t sleep at night, the noice is terrible from the street below, lots of parting people, wandering crackheads in the early morning hours and then council workers cleaning up the streets.
The photos and hotel description on the Qantas hotel booking page are completely misleading. Definitely do not stay here, it’s a dump !! I booked for two nights and left after night one, best decision even though it cost me more.

Hi, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review of your stay here at Cosmo. We're sorry that you didnt have a great time here. Unfortunately the noise outside is due to our proximity to Hindley Street and the associated night life and we have little control over that, although we continue to look at ways to reduce its impact on our guests. Thanks again for your feedback

The worst place I have ever stayed. The floors are filthy and sticky, the walls are dirty, the furniture is beat up and ratty, the occasional chair was filthy and the headboard was stained. The room smelt like old smoke. The corridors to your room are smelly and dirty. The mattress was "broken" and the ceiling water stained and dirty. It's right in party central so if you don't like noise, don't stay here.
The staff were great, and the location is perfect, walking distance to the casino and the clubs and pubs.
Such a shame it's so run down and terrible.

Wow is all I can say to describe this place. You couldn’t pay me to stay here. What an absolute run down derelict hole. Needs to be condemned and closed. I attended over the Easter weekend however after looking at room which apparently was not ready until after 3pm even though check in is 2pm I walked in and straight back out and demanded a refund. Pleasantly the manager apologies and issues a refund. 👍 for that but my god if you want to be associating with the local junkies and homeless this is the place for you. Spoke to another couple who stayed for one night and they couldn’t wait for their nightmare to finish. Apparently they didn’t even sleep from the noise from other residents and the street. Avoid avoid avoid is all I have to say

It was a really busy weekend in Adelaide due to all the AFL matches being played here so options were scarce. Anyway this hotel is easily the worst place I have ever stayed in. From the reception and elevator being filthy to our room that went to another level. Mould in the bathroom and bedroom, smashed soap holder, roof lining looking like it could fall at anytime. Wall patches that haven’t been completed. Power points have been taped up. Tv didn’t work and floor hadn’t been vacuumed since the 70s. Rooms are only serviced on request apparently, however even when you do they don’t do it anyway.
I understand that you can’t control what happens in the street but the windows not sealing and the blinds not closing all the way gave no buffer from the outside noise.
Anyway my advice is find another place!!

If i could rate this hotel as a negative i would. We booked, based on the photos. I don’t expect a lot. But this was worse than a dogs kennel. No one on reception. Finally arrived, checked in and paid. Went to our room. It is winter and the aircon was on 16degrees flat out. The room was disgusting. Holes in the walls and doors, broken tiles, smashed window, stained carpet, exposed wiring and plumbing, no towels, no where to put luggage clothes, no where to sit, the amenities where non-existant. Please see photos of the advertised room from website, and the photos of our room!!!!!

The place is dirty . You get to your floor on the one working lift and to the left is an enormous rubbish bin stinking of wet poop and pee plus added Reno rubbish as well
The street noise is insane . You can't really get any sleep as the place is not soundproofed at all .
Every automobile . Every person making noise is just like sleeping on the street.
1 pillow per person. Sheets that not fit the king bed . They have 2 over lapping . It's a joke . Bed lights that not reach power points. Broken stuff everywhere. Really sad
Want pics .....

On a positive note Cosmo on Bank is a great location with pleasant staff. A reasonable price given the location.
However, given the quality of the hotel it is actually over priced. Where do I start? From the front door and entrance foyer it is filthy, looking like it has not had a clean, ever. Including the lifts which have graffiti also. Bad smells, a different odour each day. Dodgy cheap conversion from offices to hotel, needing a complete overhaul to fix what should have been done originally. Damaged and miss matched tiles, air-conditioning units in windows not sealed around edges, noises heard from the street, insufficient tea and coffee amenities, windows blocked up with plywood panels, toilet space meant for slim people (lucky we were) light switches that don't always work, holes in walls with thin profile plywood bolted over. Rolling beds, dodgy shower grout and old painters tape still on the tiles in the shower at ceiling level. In our room a poorly installed perspex office style light covering panel that fell down, luckily missing our heads and which exposed electrical cables just cut off and hopefully, not actually live. I could go on and on.
But...if you are just looking for somewhere to sleep and are willing to overlook its faults, and there are many more I have not mentioned, then give it a go.
