Had a wonderful stay here. The room was spacious and comfortable and really enjoyed the pool but above all, the front desk staff were wonderful. We arrived off a long hall flight tired and wet after getting caught in the rain.

The location is great. Close to the central market.

We had already booked to stay a week later but we extended our stay. I can't wait to return.

We are Ambassador members with IHG and we were excited to visit and try their new hotel near the Adelaide Central Markets. Great area for a hotel, for access to city and Glenelg by tram and to the markets and wonderful restaurant scene in and around the hotel.

Our early checkin was dealt with beautifully and we were able to access our suite room straight away, thank you to Manasha at Reception. We were also given a lovely Prosecco and fudge for my husbands birthday, a really lovely touch.

Our room was a large room with balcony overlooking the eastern hills with small kitchen, dining table and 4 chairs and lounge and tv. The balcony had three chairs and table and was enjoyed in the lovely weather. It was quiet, roomy and well decorated in a minimalist style.
Our bedroom and bathroom were a separate room facing south so we had great views all round. The bathroom has a night light and provides hand and body wash and shampoo and conditioner. The bathrobes were beautifully soft and comfy.
King Bed was super comfortable with great mood lighting and lots of windows with decent block out curtains enabling us to have a great sleep-in Sunday morning.

All the staff from reception to the rooftop bar were fabulous and looked after us really well. Shout out to Manasha in Reception and Kimai at Merrymaker Bar.

Dinner at the Merrymaker rooftop bar was wonderful, lots of lovely small share plates to choose from and a great wine and cocktail list. Seating is mainly in the open with a small area undercover, but it’s comfortable and warm due to good heaters and glass surrounds dulling the impact of wind. It was as busy as, so we were lucky we booked a table well before we arrived.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be going back, already booked for April!

Highly recommended 5*****

I stayed here the first week this Hotel opened, and it was great. Upgraded to a suite room which provided an extra living area, and more space in general.

Checkin was easy, quick and very friendly. Jake on the counter assisted in the quick process, and was helpful throughout the stay! Thanks!

Rooms are comfortable, light, and plenty of power points with USB for ease of work. In the suite there is no real "work desk" as such, but there is a small table you can sit at in the living space, which is workable. Unsure about the other rooms.

The Gym is functional and enough equipment in there to get a good workout in during your stay. A small lap pool on the 4th floor with sunbeds to chill out on, and all very clean. The pool felt heated when i dipped my hand in, so a bonus there!

There is nowhere to sit at a computer console and do some of your own printing. Printing confidential information can only be done by emailing the front desk. Ideally a PC setup somewhere in a common area, with a printer would be ideal, rather than having to rely on the reception staff, which are busy with other tasks. This would be very helpful as most hotels now offer this as a minimum.

Rooftop bar is funky, plenty of seating, and its open air, so in the summer it will be great. Unsure how this will go in winter, but still a nice space for a cocktail, good view too! The food on the roof is all Raw, so if you like this type then you're sorted. I think they should still do some simple classic items like chips, wedges, pizza etc, and they would get more people eating and staying for longer on the roof. I think they're trying to be a little tooooo fancy, have some simple classic items on the menu too.

Breakfast menu on the ground floor is alright, but there is a spin to the food being funky and different again, but lunch was delicious! Loved the lunch menu, but breakfast choices were a little out there for me, i prefer simple; eggs on toast, bacon, avo and plenty of choices of sides, including fresh mixed juice etc.

There are plenty of places to eat close by, including Market Street Cafe 20metres from the front door; great coffee and breakfast options!

Overall a nice hotel, small, clean and friendly smiles all round! Thanks for the enjoyable stay, and cheers Jake for your assistance along the way!

We recently stayed at the new IHG Indigo Market Place and had such a lovely time at this vibrant hotel.
I had arranged for valet parking, so when we arrived late afternoon we were able to leave the car out the front of the hotel and staff parked it for us. Check in was friendly, informative and easy. We went immediately to our room to check it out. The room had fabulous views over Adelaide. The decor had strong references to Adelaide festivals and events. Our room included a comfortable bed with a pop up tv at the end of the bed, a seperate lounge with another tv and tea and coffee facilities and a very modern and well appointed bathroom.
After checking out our room we went down stairs to the Market and Meander Restaurant where we enjoyed a drink before heading out to explore the local area. My wife was most impressed with the hotels La Prova prosecco!
The next night we went back to the Market and Meander determined to stay longer. I ordered to Murraylands flat iron steak, a salad which came with an orange and merlot dressing and some lovely sour dough bread. My wife was most taken with the steak which was sliced, beautifully cooked and so tasty. The bread came in handy to get every bit of the tasty sauce.
We returned to the Market and Meander for breakfast the next morning. Breakfast was spectacular. I had the big breakfast. All items were so tasty but the home made potato rosti was absolutely glorious and once again I found my self having to share it with my wife! My wife had the sour bread toast with the most delicious strawberry jam. My pot of tea was delicious! We also had a complimentary juice which was quite refreshing.
We both loved the Market and Meander. The staff who worked there were friendly and so helpful, the menus were innovative and so tasty and the decor complimented and added to our dining experience.
We both loved the IHG Indigo Market Place and where very sad to leave!
Thankyou to all who made our first stay so enjoyable!

A quick overnight stay and it was very hospitable from beginning to end.

A lovely greeting upon arrival and the entrance of the hotel is like walking into a café, very vibrant, sedate and sympathetic to the surrounding environment (Adelaide Markets). It gives great atmosphere and doesn't attempt to be any more formal than is essential. You immediately feel like you can chill out and take it easy. The casual feel is in keeping with everything that makes Gouger St special.

The room was well organized and the key features well addressed. Lovel large bed which was very comfortable. Block out light curtains and big floor to ceiling windows. We had a north facing room and the sunset was excellent to watch. Efficient bathroom set up that was roomy enough, and well thought out desk, hanging and storage area near the entry.

Other features including WiFi were good and easy to connect, and the TV had chrome casting capability. Phone and tablets could connect to the alarm clock/speaker and there was plenty of USB charging ports available. Fridge, coffee, and bench space was provided too.

The styling and artistic articulation throughout makes this hotel. It provides a terrific attitude and alters the perspective of traditional Adelaide accommodation.

Location is excellent and it is differently located to the usual hotel precincts, it provides the opportunity to enjoy the Central Market and China Town regions by foot. The Whitmore Square hotel is great for a beer, and the buzz of a weekend throughout Gouger St speaks in volumes.

Breakfast was very satisfying and it felt exactly like a busy cafe. The sounds and noise of people really an extension of a dense restaurant precinct. There are very few cafe's open in the CBD for breakfast of a weekend, and what was served to us was very pleasing and showcased SA food (blue swimmer crabs).

Overall, a very accommodating team made up of younger, motivated and customer orientated staff. Very clean and neat property which was well presented. Thanks for making our time so special and hope to stay again soon.

We recently stayed at the brand new Hotel Indigo in Adelaide. From the photos it appears very contemporary and is being promoted as having Adelaide’s highest rooftop bar. Our expectations were on a high as the hotel only opened in March.

Aesthetically the hotel is beautiful and the interior designers should be proud of the final product that fits extremely well into the Asian fushion/market vibe. It is bright yet not over bearing with cool artworks displayed through wallpaper in each room. The rooms we stayed in were spacious and bright. Beds and pillows comfortable and bathrooms were modern with beautiful amenities. There was a Nespresso machine with beautiful potted cups and saucers and technically you have free wifi with the ability to easily chromecast from your smart phone to the tv. In room dining is all ordered through a QR code.

Due to the cooler weather we did not use the pool but on a sunny day you would definitely find us here. The gym was well equipped with everything we needed for a workout.

The not so positive aspects of the Hotel Indigo would have to be the customer service, the layout of the reception/restaurant area and the roof top bar.

The rooftop bar again aesthetically beautiful with amazing views however when you are promoting yourself as this, one would expect amazing cocktails of which there is not. Depending on what your expectations are the rooftop bar seemed to attract an older crowd and instead of staying here we decided to leave.

On the ground floor you will find both the reception and the restaurant within the same area. This makes for a very busy scene around check in and check out times. On the morning of our check out we decided to have breakfast in the restaurant which we booked for 8:30am. You step straight out of the lift into the restaurant and there is no one to greet you or take your room number. After lingering for sometime we finally got the attention of a staff member and were told to sit anywhere. We waited 50mins to receive our coffee order and 90mins to receive our breakfast of which we then had to quickly eat before checkout. The staff appeared frantic and there didn’t seem to be any system of who was responsible for what. A number of customers ended up leaving as they could not wait any longer.

Unfortunately as we were due to check out this left us feeling disappointed and ended our stay on a negative.

We opted for the bed, dinner and breakfast package as we had no intention of leaving the hotel during our little staycation which turned out to be excellent value as it included a three course dinner off of Market and Meander's al a carte menu and breakfast included coffee, yogurt, pastry and a menu item off of Market and Meander's breakfast menu. The check in process was excellent - we decided to upgrade to a suite at the last moment which was no problems, the reception staff booked us into the rooftop bar, our dinner and breakfast at the same time so that was taken care of. The service throughout our stay was outstanding. The room was really comfortable and had everything that we needed - including a hairdryer that actually had some power! Great curtains that blocked out the light so we could sleep in. Even though we were right by the lifts there was no noise. Hotel Indigo is in a fantastic location just a very short walk from the Adelaide Central Markets, many restaurants and bars, a supermarket and the tram. The rooftop bar was great for a cocktail and a snack, our dinner was delicious as was breakfast the next morning. The pool was even warm enough to have a dip.

As an Spire member on the Group and regular guest at the Intercontinental Adelaide I wanted to try the two new offerings in town under the IHG banner.
I arrived at the property in their first week of opening and to be fair one would expect some teething problems. Upgraded to a suite with balcony I was most impressed by the quirky layout, fixtures and easy access to technology, one could hardly not be very comfortable. Just one thought it seemed strange to have the bag storage and open plan hanging space right near the door well away from the spacious bedroom. I just wonder if you had a business meeting whether your client would want to view your clothing. There was also a "staff only" lift directly outside my door right next to the two guest lifts, I found a confusing location. I liked the roof bar although let's hope the wall heaters are all working in the colder months it is open to the wind and the elements. So too the small lap pool does not get much afternoon sun and I cant see it used much in winter. The open plan breakfast area is very close to the reception and can get a bit claustrophobic if there are a number of guests checking in/out. I recognised some experienced staff that had moved from the Intercontinental but there were also a number of inexperienced staff in the food and beverage areas a little lost. Hopefully this has been sorted now. On balance a lively area to stay with lots of restaurant options and market nearby. I would probably look to the warmer months to return.

We had looked forward to our Hotel Indigo experience but unfortunately we won't stay here again. Arrived at 1.50pm on a Saturday by car. One way street, no parking to allow us to go in and get the "car park" ticket as advertised on their website. So, I stayed, double parked, in car, partner went in to get entry ticket for $25. Yes, they offer a valet parking service for $45 but there is nowhere to leave your car to avail yourself of this service. After a 20 minute line up by partner, and numerous trips around by block by myself, partner returned without carpark pass. Apparently pass can only be given to person whose name booking is in...even though same residential address as could be proven by his drivers licence which he offered. So we then drove to the suggested carpark atop the Adelaide Bus Station and just got a normal entry ticket. Be mindful that you then need to walk back to the hotel - 2 streets over and through Chinatown lugging suitcases... which is fine if its a nice day but would be horrid if pouring with rain or 45 degrees. On arrival on foot at the hotel we then lined up for another 20 minutes. When i advised the front desk clerk (whose face mask was unsafely tucked under his nose!) that we were not happy re the car parking dilemma the attitude was one of "that's the way it is". Said he'd upgrade our room but really don't think we got anything more than what had been booked. Room was nice but the bathroom set up is awful. Basically glass divided section of the room so all bathroom noises (and I mean all) are shared by the room occupants. 3am toilet trip by partner resulted in me being woken up by the bathroom light, urination noise and toilet flushing. The light over the bathroom mirror is shocking...do not attempt to style your hair or do make up in the bathroom. We were told on checkin the the rooftop bar was unavailable till after 4pm and that owing to high occupancy of the hotel we may not be able to access it anyway so we didn't bother. We left the hotel and spent the afternoon with friends in Rundle Street, had tea on Grote Street and the always reliable Metropolitan Hotel, then returned to the Indigo to basically go to bed. When we checked out, with the $25 car parking card in hand, we returned to the carparking station and just for fun put our entry ticket obtained the day before at 2.15pm in the machine to see what the exit fee would be if we hadn't purchased the $25 card. For 2.15pm Saturday to 9.15am Sunday cost would have been $16. So my tip is don't bother attempting to get the $25 parking card, just park your car and use normal entry/exit procedure. We have stayed in many CBD hotels and this experience was by far the most disappointing. Staff had a pretty much "don't care" attitude and owing to the whole limited vehicle access issues at this hotel it is now on our No list.

I have stayed twice at this lovely hotel in the market precinct of Adelaide.

Firstly, it is a super stylish, comfortable hotel with all sorts of lovely touches that tell the story of Adelaide and the markets. I particularly love the use of posters from Adelaide's festivals in the rooms and throughout the building, making each floor and room unique.

The location across the road from the markets, close to the tram is excellent.

We found parking really easy at UPARK Grote Street which is cheaper if you register and prebook.

It is a new hotel with a new team and so there will be a few hiccups as the team gets more familiar with each other and the space, but I found them without exception to be attentive and enthusiastic and it was lovely to see staff remember us from a previous visit.

I look forward to coming back again and again.
