First the positive. Front of house staff are extremely helpful and efficient. The view from our room over the river was also pleasant. There the positive ends. The room appears to have been designed by a committee with no idea of what makes a top end hotel room. The lighting is dreadful, particularly in the bathroom with no proper shaving mirror over the single basin. The loo is in the bathroom with no privacy. No locks anywhere. The drawers are inadequate and the toiletries minimal. There were old faded stains on the duvet - looked like blood. Thin towels. Hotel facilities are all aimed at the gambling clientele with signage in English and Chinese. The rooftop bar was playing deafening music and full of party goers. There is nowhere quiet and relaxing for hotel guests. We fled to find a hotel in the city with a proper, welcoming bar. For all this highly inadequate hotel you pay exorbitantly. The final straw was when we asked for a 2 hour late check out. We were told it would be fine - but were then charged 100 dollars an hour for the privilege. Clearly a money making machine and not just from the gambling. Avoid.

If you are thinking of booking a package or accommodations at EOS, I would have 1 word of advice for you, DON’T. My wife received a gift voucher from our Son and Daughter-in-law for her 50th birthday. It was for a “Recharge package” Dealing with EOS proved anything but recharging, it should have been called the “Frustrating package” My wife booked in our package 6 weeks ago to coincide with her birthday this year. After booking in she was told that somebody would be in touch with her prior to the weekend to arrange times etc as the package included spa treatments. It got to the Wednesday of the week of our stay and we had not heard from anybody so my wife rang to follow up. The women who answered her call said that she did not know anything about the package and would get somebody to call her back that day. No call was received. My wife followed up again the next day with another call and was again told somebody would call her back that day, and again no call was received. On Friday morning we received an email from somebody at the spa advising we had 2 time options, 9.15AM Saturday or 8.45AM Sunday. We advised that neither of these were suitable as check in time on the Saturday was not until 3 O’clock (Are we supposed to have a massage and sit around 5 hours waiting for our room?) and Sunday was unsuitable as it was in the middle of breakfast that was included in our package. The spa advised that these were the only times they had available as the hotel reservation team had forgotten to notify the spa when we made our booking. After some back and forth we were offered 3.15PM on the Saturday but were advised that it would probably be noisy as a sound check was happening during this time. When we did attend to check in, the reception staff commented that we had requested a room on the 1st floor (Which we hadn’t). When we told them this they said that their was a note on their system saying we had. I told them we hadn’t had the opportunity to request anything as nobody there ever returns a phone call. They changed us to a room on a different floor and advised that a $200 hold had to be placed on our credit card for any incidentals and this was done. After doing this we were advised that there was a complimentary bag of chips in the room but any drinks taken from the minibar would be charged accordingly. We advised that our voucher stated that the minibar was complimentary, the reception staff member said “No, only selected items are”. At this point my wife was very upset about the whole process and I was absolutely fed up. I advised that we receive better and more competent service at 3 star hotels in Thailand and wanted to cancel our whole booking. For what is supposed to be a 5 star hotel offering high end packages this was anything but. I honestly would not trust these muppets to arrange a serve of spring rolls in a Chinese restaurant and will never return to EOS again.

Dear Steven, Thank you taking the time to review us on Trip Advisor. I am disheartened to read your feedback regarding your experience at our hotel on what should have been a wonderful celebratory weekend. This is certainly not the level of service we strive to achieve and are renowned for. I acknowledge there has been a lapse in communication within the team and while I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused, it is feedback through our valued guests such as yourself that we are able to constantly improve our level of service and I would like to thank you for bringing your experience to our attention. I can see that you are in touch with our team here at Eos by SkyCity since your last visit and we look forward to welcoming you back very soon. And please pass on our birthday wishes to Mrs. Hansen once again. Warm regards, Siddhartha Kaul Hotel Manager

Nice hotel. Booked balcony room but was annoyed by the sounds of kids in the pool. Felt like a kids club, not an adult casino hotel. Great location. Very odd design re arrival and lifts worth the stay but wanted to escape our kids not be overrun by other peoples kids screaming and having a great time in the pool and running down hallways. Management needs to manage this better. Would recommend hotel generally, but restaurant choices seem limited, so be sure to book restaurant's ahead of time in peak seasons. Or Dine off-site. Rooms nice and great view of river. Balcony is very spacious but could do with a lounger chair and more furniture or even a hammock.

Dear Sandof2024, Thank you for taking the time to review, though I am extremely disheartened to read that your stay with us did not meet your expectations. Your comments surrounding children in the pool is particularly disheartening, however please rest assured that I have escalated your feedback to our Spa + Wellness management team to review closely. I am also sorry that some of our restaurant options were limited over the New Year period, however if we do have the pleasure of hosting you again, I would recommend booking these in advance to ensure you secure a reservation. At the outset, I am pleased to read that our team of experts were able to showcase their distinctive hospitality, and that you were able to indulge in our luxuriously appointed guest rooms in our vibrant Festival Precinct location. We look forward to welcoming you back to Eos in the near future. Warmest regards, Lucy Cracknell Front Office Manager

Very expensive for little return. No bathtub. Views from beds were looking into the hotel next door and roof of the Convention Centre. The room itself had a beautiful view - the beds should be on the opposite wall to take advantage of it. Don’t go for the pool. The pool is tiny and the pool lounges are away from the pool in a separate area. There were mosquitoes everywhere. Wasn’t pleasant. Room service is outrageously expensive- unless paying $30 for a bowl of hot chips is OK with you. Service is great. The room is a good size and the beds are superbly comfortable.

Dear B5838BFjudyr, Thank you for taking the time to share your recent feedback at Eos by SkyCity. Guest experience is at the very heart of Eos, as such, I am delighted to read that you enjoyed our luxuriously appointed guest rooms, beautiful views and our team’s distinctive hospitality. It is disheartening to hear that our Eos Spa + Wellness pool facilities did not meet your expectations, however I am glad to read that this did not detract too much from what sounds like an extraordinary stay. We understand that value for money is crucial when choosing accommodation, and as such we were disappointed to read that you felt our pricing was not justified. We do offer various packages and promotions throughout the year, some of which include breakfast, and we recommend visiting our website for the latest offers to find a package that best suits your preferences. We look forward to welcoming you back to Eos in the near future. Warmest regards, Lucy Cracknell Front Office Manager

A new luxury hotel above the Sky City Casino in Adelaide. I decided to book a room as I was having spa treatments in The Spa (which is excellent). If you are having a few spa treatments, I recommend going early to make use of the spa facilities. There is something easy and ultra-relaxing when you finish your treatments and mosey up to your room in a dressing gown. No need to deal with people, traffic and the bliss can continue. When you first enter the room, there is music playing already and the rooms smell wonderful and welcoming. The bed is delicious and so are the pillows. The rain shower begs you to stand under it for as long as possible. It’s pricey but worth the treat.

This was a near perfect hotel experience. From letting us keep our bags there whilst we flew to Alice Springs for 3 days to the seamlessness of just actually staying there, it was all excellent. The location is great for both the city and the river. We had a river view room and the view over the Oval, Festival theatre and the river was stunning. I didn't book a room with a balcony as we find we don't use them, but this time I wished that I had done. The bed was comfortable, there were complimentary snacks and a bottle of wine for my birthday arranged by the wonderful concierge, Lavinia. I loved the iPad to control the room and anything else that you needed for your stay. The staff were good without being too obsequious; when the remote broke, we had a new one within 30 mins and a sorry for putting us through that! The casino was huge but didn't impact on our stay, and the bar and restaurant were fab! The mixologist made me the best Cosmopolitan even though it wasn't on the menu. This was also the first hotel to have both a rubbish bin and a recycling bin.

Outstanding hotel. Our room would have to be one of the best we have experienced in Adelaide. Staff are friendly, concierge and the valet team are incredible. Upon checkout our car was ready, packed with our luggage and water bottles in the cup holders. If your weighing up your parking choices, use the Hotel's valet service! 10/10. Electric blinds, comfy bed and great views over the river and Adelaide skyline. The in-room iPad takes some getting used to, the hotel has opted out of providing reception/room service phone access with all requests and ordering done electronically in your room. A little challenging but not a deal breaker. Will stay again, and again...
