The choices are limited and ordinary. So feeling somewhat disappointed especially as the lunch was supposed to be a treat.
The drinks however were good well presented cold and served with a smile.
The pub is clean but austere and noisy due to wooden furnishings not exactly a buzzy atmosphere; probably due to Corona.
Prices are typical for pub grub.
Service excellent.
Our meals were great pub fare and came out right on time.
The Beer Battered Fish N Chips was an enormous serve, 3 fillets of Coorong Mullet, heaps of fresh salad and lovely chips.
The Haloumi & Mushroom Burger was another good sized offering, tasty and fresh served with plenty of salad and chips.
A really convenient place to eat if you're visiting the Adelaide Central Market or going to a show a few steps away at "Her Maj".
The owner, Matt, always has a chat and is quick to suggest a good red from his cellar with rest of the staff being very attentive and very friendly.
if you are going to be sightseeing a lot and just need a bed to sleep in then maybe ok.
But felt very basic. If they revamped the layout upstairs to provide less rooms - so that every room also had it's own 2021 bathroom would be a great improvement.
It felt like a standard of accommodation that might have been ok in 1940 but not in 2021. Sad that they cannot see the potential in the place.
Maybe bring a couple of hot water bottles because the rooms are chilly.
Great spot and convenient to theatre. Prices are very reasonable and hotel lovely and clean.
Always love the pub grub.
