Majestic Minima has been my address in North Adelaide for brief periods in January two years' running. I still haven't exhausted all the nearby eatery options during that time, but even in the space of a year there have been some changes, with some of last year's options disappearing and others appearing still to be thriving. I like to get out and about and have found that I'm within walking distance of the O'Connell Street. With a year's worth of courage under my belt I tried a Pie Floater at Bakery on O'Connell this time. "Yummo" about sums up that experience. Local architecture has its own appeal, so each street invites a little exploration, with time to stop and read the blue plaques outlining a little of the history of individual buildings meaning that walking is the best way to explore. But the city also beckons. With so much to visit nearby, I didn't spend a great deal of time at Majestic Minima, but the welcome was warm and e-mails were being exchanged both before my arrival and following my departure. My room was expertly cleaned and tidied each day and increased levels of caffeine consumption didn't reduce my capacity to sleep off some of the walking exercise. My experience was - in a word: Excellent.

Hi Ian, Thank you for taking your time to share a brilliant review of your stay with us! It is amazing to hear that you had a wonderful time in Adelaide while staying at our little boutique property on Melbourne Street. Our guests have favoured North Adelaide over CBD during these years as it is a nice and quiet suburb, not too far away from everything, always changing with many exciting activities. I am glad that you had found an exciting way to explore and appreciate Adelaide. It is lovely to hear that our customer service and room standards have exceeded your expectation. I will ensure to pass on your positive feedback to our team members to keep up the good work. Thank you once again for sharing your lovely experience and we hope to welcome you back in a near future! Kind regards, Ethan Duty Manager

We were extremely impressed with the Majestic Minima Hotel during our overnight stay. Everything from the staff to the room was perfect. Nothing was too difficult to arrange for the wonderful staff. We asked if we could drop our car off in the morning and then come back in the afternoon to check in and they were more than happy to oblige. Once we arrived they said that our room was ready early and we could check in too if we wanted, which was super convenient. The room was well equipped with an amazingly comfortable bed and a huge TV. The bathroom was clean and modern with a good shower. There was even a small bottle of gin waiting for us on our arrival as a part of the gin tasting experience we were offered. This hotel is well worth the short über drive into the CBD, plus you get to enjoy all the fantastic cafes for breakfast on Melbourne Street. If you are looking for a very comfortable stress-free hotel during your trip to Adelaide, I highly recommend you check out the Majestic Minima.

The rooms are quite small due to an oversized King size bed. This is likely been done for aesthetics not for practical purposes. The bathroom in the access suite is overly and unnecessarily larger than required. It is far from functional. There are no grab rails and clearly little thought has gone into the design. The shower does not allow for being turned on to the appropriate temperature without first getting soaked by cold water then soon after being scalded by hot water. The micro fridge is absolutely dysfunctional. Installing a mini fridge would at least give two purposes storing milk for tea coffee breakfast and other chilled items. The biggest part of the fridge is the motor that is a clear fire hazard as there is little to no space for heated air to escape. This is a disaster waiting to happen. Removing a shelf in the cupboard that houses the fridge would enable installation of a bigger bar fridge. Why the question that must be asked is there an ironing board with no space to set it up. It is like someone has had a brain implosion and lots of afterthoughts. None which produced any pragmatic practicalities. Now the saving Grace of this Hotel is the absolutely delightful dedicated staff from the Old Lion and the Night Manager at the M Suites just a few blocks away in North Adelaide. It is very unfortunate that their efforts are let down by housekeeping who are very very loud and noisy. Cackling may be entertaining to some however others like myself prefer the hum of a vacuum cleaner not being drowned out by the cackling and shrill voices of housekeeping staff who clearly have no idea that some folk sleep in the next room they are cleaning. Housekeeping manages to break almost every rule in the book when it comes to Fire exits Fire escapes and have no regard for guests who have limited mobility when it comes to the provision of parking vehicles in the garage. Placing linen trolleys in disabled car parking spaces is a criminal offence. As is the act of placing dirty putrid laundry overnight under the window of guests who are unlucky enough to draw the ground floor unit next to the upper level parking. The fact there is no signs in the suites indicating a Fire Exit or indeed a Fire Escape Plan is just so without thought it is offensive. If you choose to stay here then you should familiarise yourself with the limited Fire escapes and exits from the building. Hopefully someone in management will read this review and fix the easy things like Fire Plans

I love to stay at this smallest of small good hotels because it has everything I need, even a balcony without a view which gave me perfect privacy. The location, so close to public transport, including the free hop on/off bus couldn't be better, nor the local cafes (but why don't they stay open later at night and on Sunday? Good reading lights, a plus. A few extra hooks here and there would be appreciated and I was upset that the wifi advertised wasn't available.

The room was okay for the price. Everything is a bit worn down but the bed was clean. Unfortunately, the trash bin in the bathroom hadn't been emptied and there were stains on the bathroom mirror. The shower has very low water pressure. You can hear everything from neighbouring rooms through the walls.
The location is central and only about a 20 minute uber ride from the airport. There are good coffee places in the area. The closest coles/woolworths is about a 30 minute walk away.
The staff at reception was very friendly.

The check and service staff were friendly. The location is great but the surge pricing for a long weekend stay was well above what such a tiny room should be at any time. The bed is very firm and the pillows are very fat, perhaps too fat. The TV remote buttons made no sense - it was a guessing game. Change your toilet paper supplier - paper should tear where it's supposed to.

Stayed 7 nights without internet. This is both annoying and removes the attraction of a modern accommodation. Change of bedsheets could be planned after every 3 nights stay without request. Reception, towel requests and checkin at Majestic Lion is simply inconvenient. For all the minuses, this hotel is definitely overpriced. Will likely not use it again.

Hello, Thank you for your review, I would like to extend my apologies; we pride ourselves on providing a fantastic experience to our guests and I’m sorry we did not deliver. Our website as well as confirmation letter does mention that the check-in location differs from the property location. I apologise regarding the internet; Wi-Fi is currently not available at Majestic Minima Hotel as a result of hardware failure and significant delays being experienced with the delivery of replacement equipment. We are trying to get this information out on all platforms and confirmation letters. We have also stopped daily servicing due to COVID for the safety of our housekeeping team, to limit their contact with guests. We are working towards having both services available again soon. We do provide one housekeeping service in the middle if you are staying for a week and we did provide one service We hope to provide you a better experience in the future given the chance! This hotel was chosen for us as part of a Trailfinders personalised touring holiday. It turned out to be a very low budget option, and as a twin room for two friends sharing, unfortunately the two small single beds in a tiny room did not give the level of comfort we had experienced in other hotels on our trip. It was also disappointing not to be told in advance that there was no room cleaning service on Sundays or public holidays. If we had known (eg through a note in room or on the hotel website) this could have been planned for and inconvenience of wet towels and overflowing bin minimised.

These rooms are perfect for an overnight stay, or even longer if you don't require more room. The art on the walls is amazing and really is a point of difference. Very good value and clean. We opted to pay the extra $10.50 per night for an undercover off street park. These need to be booked in advance as there are a limited number. Bed was comfortable, shower hot - what more do you need.

Thanks for your questions. We currently offer parking at $10.50 per night. This is subject to availability as we do not have 1 car space per apartment. You can pre-book ahead by contacting us. There are companies that run shuttles to and from airport. You would need to book these in advance. Given the proximity of the airport to the CBD/North Adelaide however, a taxi would be around the same price (if travelling woth 2 or more). Please feel free to touch base with us if you need any more info. Tom Christiansen Hotel Manager
