Just arrived at Adelaide back in July and stayed in this backpacker for three miserable nights. The reception/owner was friendly, but the rest of the things were disaster. I was offered a well worn linen pack and the bed was in very bad shape and stinky too. Multiple signs of "drug use prohibited" were annoying (to me suggested that everyone was using drugs in the building). The room was dark, small, lower than average conditions, and the bathroom was the worst of all. It was very small size and I had problem with hanging towels, clothing...(no hangers). There were only a curtain separating the shower from the toilet and I was not sure what was causing a nasty water pool in front of the toilet. There were absolutely nothing special about the backpacker, nor did I think many travelers were staying there. I just felt very miserable by having to spend a few nights there.
Being new to Adelaide I made some reasonable effort to find a different place soon but had already paid for 3 days. I finally found a great place (a well known chain backpacker) although with a distance but with excellent quality. Whenever I see this backpacker across the street, I always think what the price break-down is for this backpacker but can't figure it out; perhaps the location is the forte for this backpacker.
Not recommended.
