Whitsunday Apartments Hamilton Island offers spacious rooms with breathtaking views, a fact that many guests appreciate, despite some concerns over cleanliness and dated decor. The hotel's pricing, often deemed expensive, has led to mixed feelings about its value.
While praised for its prime location near stunning beaches and convenient shuttle services, the noise level from construction and other rooms has disturbed the tranquility for some visitors. Amenities, including well-equipped kitchens and pools, are a highlight, though service quality has seen occasional lapses.

The apartment is lovely and view is great from Level 7! The room can easily accommodate 4-6 guest so it is perfect if you are travelling with your family. It was just me and my husband so it was more than enough for us. The kitchen is very complete - microwave, stand up fridge, pots and pans, etc. There's a little lounge downstairs where you can make coffee and tea, no cafeteria though. However everything on this heavenly little island is at close proximity. A lovely walk down to the Marina for a nice meal, where the weather is always beautiful. Or you can rent a buggy if you don't like walking. What a perfect place for a holiday.

Massive room for 2 people. Very Clean and comfortable, inclusive of a random sink in the bedroom. Beautiful View overlooking the Garden and the Sea from Catseye Beach. Really easy to get around by foot (+ the Free Shuttle Buses, Green to Marine, Blue to View), and easy access to the National park walks. Very nice accomodation, could definitely fit 4 people in the same space easily. Friendly staff, and happy to keep bags safe after checkout. Not a bad place to stay.
Unfortunately room rate doesn't come with a Golf Buggy (and this NEEDS to be booked separately well in advance). For the price we paid there wasn't a washing machine or dishwasher in the 'fully contained' apartment. Laundry services were additional and washing up and putting away dishes incurred an additional fee on checkout. Don't forget your insect repellent as this also comes at additional costs - would suggest Insect repellent to be available to guests for use on day trips from reception.

MandyM_DanR Thank you for your review of the Whitsunday Apartments. Just to confirm your comments, for the readers of TripAdvisor, you are correct our room rates do not include Golf Buggy hire, this does need to be booked separately on the island. We have 3 guest laundry facilities in each tower which are coin operated and our apartments do not have dishwashers. The additional fee for washing up you are referring to is only charged if guests do not wash their own dishes on departure. The tent card in all kitchens states - "Dear Guest Your kitchen has been fully equipped for your convenience. On departure please ensure all kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery are washed and placed away. Should you prefer Housekeeping to do this for you a charge of $60 will be added to your account." Once again MandyM_DanR, thank you for your review! Kind regards John McFadden Resort Manager tripadvisor@wahi.com.au

Wish we could have stayed forever.
The apartment was great, in a great location with amazing views and plenty of space, the kitchen was well equipped with everything you could need.
Our room was on the 7th floor of the East tower.
There was quite a bit of noise from the neighbouring rooms and the local wildlife, so my only recommendation to improve the place would be some better soundproofing.
The pool and spa areas were great and we definitely made the most of them.
About 10 - 15 minute walk from the main street of the resort or use the free island buses.

My wife and I stayed here on two separate occasions totalling 4 nights and what a fantastic place to stay! These are apartments, not a hotel, so there is no restaurant to have breakfast, lunch or dinner.
You can purchase packets of chips and cans of soft drink at reception. Hamilton does have a supermarket if you want to cook yourself or a good selection of restaurants to enjoy. We did both.
The apartment we stayed in was well appointed with a large bedroom, lounge, bathroom, kitchen, all cooking utensils provided and a large balcony to sit on and relax. The views were 10/10 superb!! Coffee and tea is available.
The air conditioner worked a treat, the WIFI was strong and fast, clean shower and toilet.
There is a large swimming pool to be enjoyed by everyone and towels are available at reception.
The apartment is about a 15 minute walk to the main street, and walking back to the hotel there is a steep hill so if you prefer a buggy then book this in advance before you arrive as they are booked out a months ahead (buggies are not booked through the accommodation).
Overall a wonderful stay, staff were very friendly and helpful, highly recommended accommodation.

Gorgeous views; clean and spacious; lovely staff; handy to the beach, pools, IGA, bushwalks, and dining precinct. The whole area is really well maintained and the free shuttles are constant making life easy and relaxing. Lots of cute wildlife around the place. And pretty well priced, to boot. Could not have been improved in any way!
Hot tip: get the sea view room - might be slightly more $ than the garden view but it's absolutely worth it.

Our family of four (8 + 6yo) stayed for one week at WAHI. Had a beach view apartment. The views are amazing!! There is a pool at the bottom of the East Side apartments - with Spa - fantastic fun! Lots of lounges by the pool to rest on. Could do with more shade during middle of day but morning and afternoon are fantastic. Apartments look renovated in last year or so - with nice wooden floors, modern bathroom and kitchen, good aircon. The staff always helpful. WAHI provides beach towels that you can swap over if you need to. Kitchen allowed us to make meals at home. The eating options around the apartments are limited but good. The Marina has a good selection of eating. No laundry in apartment, but there is one available if you need. Regular "Green" bus service into Marina but the walk is really only 10 minutes anyway. Golf Carts can be quite useful but not absolutely necessary. Recommend booking Golf carts in advance. Loads of people swimming, snorkelling, sailing, paddling in catseye beach. No sign of stingers. We saw turtle, sting ray, rainbow fish, angel fish and lots more. If money, were no object, we would love to return!

We stayed in the most expensive room, the Deluxe Coral Sea View. It offered fantastic views and spacious views. We thought paying this bit extra would give us a better quality experience. Not quite the case. As well as issues with accommodation, the whole HI experience was very disappointing as very little was open and accessible, but no-one told us before we arrived.
The WAHI had beautifully maintained gardens, and the pool and spa were great.
The room offered 'a daily mini service and replacement of amenities'. When advising nothing had been done in our room, we were advised that 'because of the situation' the only service being offered was emptying the bins. (I'm not sure why COVID stops someone making our bed and restocking our water and tissues!!). This was different to both the online information when booking, as well as the reservation confirmation of a fortnight before. When staff were asked what I was getting for the extra I was paying, they just replied that they don't set the rates.
When I checked in, I asked if the linen to make up a second bed was in the room, and was advised it was. When we went to make up the sofabed, no linen could be found, and by then reception was closed, so I had to share a bed with adult travelling partner. The staff did rectify this straight away the following day.
The kitchen is quite spacious, but the sinks are almost unusable to wash up in, as the microwave sits on the sink draining bench (which I'm pretty sure is illegal). There is no where to drain dishes, nor to stack them.
I'm not sure how often hallway floors are vacuumed, but we had pieces of someone else's breakfast cereal sitting outside our door for the three days we were there.
Reception staff tried their best and were friendly, but didn't seem to know what was happening on the island.
60% of restaurants were closed, and all of the others, as well as the day spa, were booked out for the whole time we were there. Many cruises etc were not operating, and the website did not advise that advance booking for restaurants were needed. So we were left with little to do, and few food choices. I know this situation is not WAHI's fault, but their website should make this very clear.

redzebra Thank you for your review and the opportunity to respond to your comments. Within our booking terms and conditions on-line we state "Deluxe Coral Sea View apartments receive daily rubbish removal and the linen changed every fourth day." This information is provided to all other 3rd party websites and to all our travel partners. I do apologise that the linen for the sofa bed was not in the room on arrival and I have followed this up with our housekeeping department, as well as for the condition of the floor. I do note you comment on the position of the microwave and can confirm that they do not sit on the draining board of the sink. redzebra, it would seem on this occasion that we were unable to meet your holiday expectations and for this we sincerely apologise. We do hope, however, that we will have the opportunity of welcoming you back, as our guest, in the future. Kind regards John McFadden Resort Manager tripadvisor@wahi.com.au

I was super excited about booking whitsunday apartments for my honeymoon for 7 nights. 7 days prior to arrival we were required to pay the balance of the accomodation which I was fine with, I opted to pay via direct deposit to avoid the credit card surcharge. I contacted the accomodation directly and requested they not charge the credit card on file as the direct deposit was being made however even though they confirmed that this wouldn’t occur, they attempted to charge my credit card even though I had already transferred the money.
This left a bitter taste in my mouth as no one ever admitted fault to this or apologised. I had put this all behind me on arrival to check in at the apartments, our plane arrived a little early so we were there about 12.30pm, we were informed our room was not ready yet but would be ready in 15 minutes and we could wait in the lounge and they would call when it was ready. 30 mins or so went by where we sat in this lounge, we went back to reception and spoke to a different lady who told us there were no guarantees before 2pm. It would have been great if we weren’t told 15 minutes if that wasn’t the case.
My partner and I enquired about buying a bottle of wine at reception and we were told they could only send them upto the room and we couldn’t buy it directly from reception, once again fine with that but We then went to call reception the next day to order wine to our room but were told we had to go down to reception to sign for the wine and then it would be delivered to the room!?
The apartment itself was the saving grace - we were lucky enough to have an apartment on the top floor and view was amazing, the apartment was clean we were provided fresh towels regularly, I did find the $60 charge if you don’t wash the dishes a little odd given the COVID situation (I’m not sure how the hotel can guarantee the dishes have been cleaned properly unless they clean them themselves)
A vacuum would have been a great addition to the room however did enjoy the well equipped kitchen.
Overall as much as I loved the accommodation it’s self I felt like 2 of the 3 staff (at reception) I spoke with during my stay did not want to help me and the guest experience left much to be desired.

On arrival, check in was seamless and staff very professional. Absolutely gorgeous views overlooking Catseye Beach and Whitsunday Islands from our accommodation on Level 7.
Apartment large with fully equipped kitchen, full size F&P fridge. Comfy king bed, large bedroom, aircon + fan, wardrobe and loads of storage, Additional aircon unit for the lounge and dining area. We were celebrating a birthday the day we arrived, WAHI had surprised us with a complimentary bottle of champagne (in the fridge!) and a card - great Guest Relations!
Linen changed every 3/4 days, rubbish removed and replenishment of toiletries daily.
Fabulous pool, staff disinfecting tables and other surfaces regularly around the pool area.
Great walking trails close by, varying distances and effort, although trails are narrow and rocky, so footwear with good tread a must!
Relatively easy walk to the marina where there are also other restaurants, well stocked IGA and bottle shop next to IGA. Complimentary shuttle every 10 mins from and to WAHI (and they are always on time!). We walked and used the shuttle, we didn’t feel the need to hire a buggy.
Ensure you make all your restaurant bookings well before arrival (we booked a couple of months ahead!), hard to get in otherwise. If you don’t have a booking, contact the venue either day before or on the day to check for cancellations. There are other terrific casual restaurants – no bookings required: Pizzeria, Marina Café for breakfast and lunch, the Marina Tavern, Bob’s Bakery, Popeye’s (fish & chips, burgers etc.), ice cream shop.
Would definitely return to Hamilton Island and stay at Whitsunday Apartments.

We were so happy with our one bedroom apartment with stunning balcony views during our stay.
The property was very clean, from the room to the grounds, reception area and most importantly pool.
Staff were very gracious and accommodating. The young lass who ran the coffee cart each morning was happy, smiling and made a mean skinny latte at 7am.
Room was only to be serviced on our fourth day but each day we had fresh towels and stocked dishwashing liquid, tea towels etc which was very much appreciated.
Plenty of linen and pillows supplied.
Foxtel channels including Family movies. Free wifi for several devices.
Pool area was beautifully maintained. Plenty of room with shady options. Very handy to be able to grab an icy pole for the kids from reception (charge to room), and a cocktail in paper cup from across the road at the Pavillion bar and bring back to the pool.
Plenty of power points in the gold cart parking bays.
We couldn’t fault anything, which for avid travellers, is always a pleasant experience for us and makes us want to go back.
Thank you WAHI for delivering everything you promised.

Yes, the single beds in the apartments are comfortable and clean. They are a little on the harder side. I would consider this a problem only if you prefer a soft bed.
