Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed at Shorelines 24 and it could not be more perfect. Sensational views from both balconies and a beautiful sunset view. Our apartment was on the edge of the building and we got direct sun from the morning and all throughout the day. The apartment is on many floors as a split level and heaps of privacy if you stay with kids or another couple. Two full bathrooms plus a separate powder room off the kitchen. The full kitchen was brilliant. Enough dishwasher tablets to last the week was a nice touch. The blinds on the downstairs main bedroom (facing the sunset) are block out and definitely keep the hot sun out. Air conditioners and fans work a treat.
The golf cart supplied was perfect to get around the island. There were plenty of towels in the apartment and it was very clean. My only suggestion is to pack a few staple items so you don’t have to purchase on the island- maybe some brekky items. We purchased some good tea bags (some were supplied), oats and bbq sauce from the local IGA.
Access to both pools was excellent and watching the sunset from the edge pool is so spectacular. Location is perfect on the marina side of the island. Short drive to everything.

Unit 32 was neat and clean with a fabulous view- great for 2 couples. A nice touch having a few condiments and cleaning products there so we didn’t have to buy any for a few day stay.
Poops were ok but large crowds at Edge pool with a lot of rubbish and drinks left behind.
Be aware of the transfers included. We arrived at 3pm and our room wasn’t ready- this happens. We were asked to leave our luggage on the front deck until it was ready. This was not the problem. Upon check out we wanted to do the same as our flight wasn’t until after lunch- but now this was not an acceptable practice as they didn’t want to accept responsibility for our luggage. Still trying to work out the difference?!
Staff were friendly. The transfer they offer is at 10am when check out is and at no other time. There was NO flexibility on this.
We used taxi service who were great and cheap!

Unfortunately this Unit needed a lot of maintenance done to it. We paid top $ to stay a few days, but it was a big disappointment considering the state of the place. Having viewed the Unit on their website, it was nothing like it, and certainly NOT 'Luxury". The "visiting" Cockatoos were another problem encountered as they got into the Unit by opening louvre windows (& a screen door) that were not properly locked by Cleaners, no notice to advise Guests other than not to feed them, which we did not. Apparently this is a big problem on the Island, but being a 'national icon/protected species' there is nothing Management could do to sort out the problem ~ we did wonder why they didn't call-in National Parks to capture them and take them inland to another destination. We took lots of photos to send to Shorelines Management who are hopefully dealing with the issues we raised. It certainly was a great disappointment to us, but thankfully the buggy was an asset, and overall enjoyed our stay.

Poor standards for what you pay. Imagine finding no espresso machine even though it is on websites to be told yes there was one but no longer and they have the coffee machine manual to read. We found a hole in the wall. The oven door is ajar doesn’t close. The range hood is missing glass and so doesn’t work . The hand rail is coming off the wall . I get that you get basic supplies but no cleaning product apart from 6 dishwasher tablets . Would it break the bank to leave some basic cleaning products? Would expect more than 1 bath towel per person . Booked for 10 days so need to clean but not even a vacuum cleaner to be found . Furniture is shabby outdated and over used and needs updating. Wouldn’t book here for the price paid.

What a fabulous stay here. From the moment we walked into this apartment it was amazing. Super clean and incredibly well equipped with everything you need. Waking up to that view every morning just takes your breath away.

We stayed in Shorelines 29. It's in a great location looking out to Plum Pudding Island. It's a corner apartment with neighbours on the right side only. There are three rows of apartments and this one is in the middle with no visible roofs (of other apartments) in front of you, unlike some of the other apartments. There are two pools the most spectacular being a shared infinity edge pool (shared with The Edge apartments). Great having the buggy which I really think is essential for any Hamilton Island stay. Also great having a full kitchen and as we'd boarded a domestic flight (ex-BNE) and took lots of our own food and drinks. My major gripe was the lack of WiFi. This is an expectation in today's climate and when travelling to the most remote places overseas, it's even available there. My other gripe was having to clean, BBQ included, before checkout. At approx $500 p/n you'd think the cleaning fee ($75) would be included. I think this is a bit cheeky. We left the apartment super clean but the cloud of a possible cleaning fee, certainly took the gloss off. Overall, I highly recommend and would hope the owners organise WiFi for future travellers.

The view is amazing the island is beautiful, the apartment is tired , was not clean, and very poorly equipped. We had the check into a hotel while they cleaned the apartment, you wouldn’t want to stay - in the end we left early , so disappointed.
Dirty mouldy curtains and rugs, dust ladened fans , broken insect nets, stained ironing board , duvets etc dirty old pans , .... I could go on ...... suggest you use the reef view hotel , we found that much better .... and check out explore snorkelling they were great too .

Awesome split level accommodation with plenty of room to accommodate a family on a tropical beach holiday...a real home away from home with everything you need including a buggy...two big balconies to watch an uninterrupted view of the magnificent sunsets...we stayed in #35.
