This was our second trip to Lizard and after a wonderful first experience over 10 years ago we didn’t know what to expect In this crazy pandemic world. Turns out we needn’t have worried - it was truly excellent in every way. Firstly the staff were exemplary - in the restaurant, at reception, on the boats, at the beach hut, at the spa and in housekeeping - service was efficient and everyone was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The food was fresh - seafood and deserts especially tasty and wonderful and the complimentary drinks good. We chose an Anchor Bay room as we like the proximity to the beach and it was beautifully appointed. Lizard is one of the few places in the world you can snorkel off the beach at any time high or low tide (at least for a good proportion of the year). The coral and fish life are still prolific and the beach white sand gorgeous. We did a snorkel trip, a dive and a dinghy trip to a near by beach - kudos to the girls who took us snorkelling for tailoring the trip to find some good spots on a windy day. The spa treatments best we’ve had in any resort and even the gym had new well functioning equipment. As returning guests albeit of quite a long time ago we were treated to some small extras which were much appreciated. One thing I would strongly suggest is if you want to dive and fish, especially major trips e.g. to cod hole etc book well ahead before you arrive. We had a truly lovely short break - it’s a special place.

Superb in every way, especially if you are lucky enough to have the weather turn it on for you. A stunning flight from Cairns, laid back luxe resort and rooms, excellent food and drinks, excellent snorkelling straight from the beach, delightful sunset cruise, packed picnic, reef snorkel, star gazing... Beautiful walks, wildlife and deserted beaches. A real treat, and sensational way to see The Great Barrier Reef.

I feel I need to write this as we were disappointed with the experience OK I agree the weather didn't help and cant control the weather but as to the service they can control...I thought they could have compensated as we had no use of the water facilities...but no We thought for the money you pay you expect top service and food...but we were left very disappointed...not only us but others staying there at the same time.

Greg and the team at Lizard Island could not of done more to make our recent 5 night stay at Lizard Island Resort more special. The service was second to none with every request answered with a can do attitude and a smile. We only had to mention a preference in passing to see this remembered and passed between team members to ensure our every need was catered for. The activities team were amazing, nothing too much trouble and great choices to do plenty or nothing each day. The location is amazing with plenty of great snorkling spots to easily check out on your own with great tips from the team or many choices for guided experiences too. Options for beach picnics to take along to make any trip all that more special were a breeze to organise. We loved it so much we decided to stay an extra night at the last minute which the team took in their stride and coordinated the necessary arrangements to make it all happen for us. Too many great things to list but suffice to say Lizard Island is a must do for a luxury resort experience in one the most stunning locations in Australia!!

Incredible crystal clear beaches, it was absolute paradise to adventure around the island. The food & wine is all inclusive and was so impressive, there is no cutting corners here: every meal is inventive and shows off high quality produce. One of the favourite parts of the holiday was swimming with the friendly turtles. Thank you for an amazing holiday!
