Our trip to Bedarra Island exceed our expectations. Jade and Rob who own the boat/car transfer business went out of there way to help organise provisions for the trip. As others have mentioned George and Heidi are outstanding caretakers and there genuine warmth and friendship made the island experience extra special. The house was spotless , bed was very comfortable and kitchen was well set up .Spent hours just watching from the deck, fished, slept on the daybed, kayaked, swimming, oysters, spectacular scenery. Will be back.

We had a fantastic 10 days at East Bedarra Island. We were surprised and delighted to discover that the house included two wonderful caretakers, George and Heidi. They were absolutely amazing and made our stay more than special. From recommendations for where to go and what to do to on the island, anticipating our every need, answering every question, as well as providing some history of the islands and also sharing some very enjoyable chats with us, they were absolutely phenomenal. The resort included a deck overlooking the sea where we spent most of our time gazing at the beautiful water, wildlife, stars and even a treat of observing some bioluminescent algae. I have always wanted to stay at the East Bedarra Island Retreat and when my husband and I finally visited for my 50th birthday, I most definitely wasn’t disappointed! The photos just don’t do it justice. It is literally an island paradise and one which I didn’t want to leave. A special mention has to go to the caretaker George who went out of his way to make our stay the best it could possibly be, including taking us fishing where I was lucky enough to catch a Spanish mackerel. From eating oysters straight off the rocks, to paddling around the bay, to cooking freshly caught fish on the weber, to reading books on the comfy lounges on the deck……the list goes on 💙

As a couple who had previously visited East Bedarra Island Holiday Retreat and thought our experience couldn't be surpassed, we recently returned with our two girls for a family vacation—and it turned out to be the best family holiday we've ever had. Our hearts were filled with excitement as we stepped foot on this enchanting island once again. The moment we arrived, memories of our romantic getaway came flooding back, but this time, we had the pleasure of sharing it with our daughters. We were unsure if the magic of East Bedarra Island would translate into a family-friendly experience, but we were in for a delightful surprise. The luxury villa, which had once been the epitome of romance, now seamlessly accommodated our family. The two bedrooms provided the perfect space for us and our girls, ensuring everyone had their own comfortable haven. The private natural saltwater pool became a source of endless joy and laughter, as our daughters splashed around and created precious childhood memories. The white sandy beach, just steps away from our villa, became their personal playground, where sandcastles were built , palm trees were climbed and dreams were woven. We couldn't have asked for a better setting to bond as a family. The island's captivating beauty, where rainforest meets reef, continued to awe us. Exploring the island with our girls, witnessing the vibrant wildlife , kayaking , snorkeling , finding swings in palm trees and strolling along the empty shores became cherished moments that we will forever hold dear. What truly made this family holiday exceptional was the privacy and seclusion that East Bedarra Island offered. With no cars, no roads, and just us we reveled in the serenity and tranquility of our surroundings. It was a sanctuary where we could fully immerse ourselves in the joy of being together, away from the distractions of everyday life. East Bedarra Island once held the title of our most cherished romantic destination, but it has now claimed a new place in our hearts as the best family holiday spot. It surpassed all our expectations, allowing us to create treasured memories as a family. The accommodation was amazing, the solar power set up needs an upgrade the keep power to the house without restrictions. George and Heidi went out of their way to make out holiday the best it could be. We are going back with the kids. Would recommend it to everybody. I would recommend confirming what type of fishing equipment you are allowed too take. Spear fishing equipment are not allowed.

We booked the 5 day elopement package for Easter 2023 and WOW!!! Straight off the plane from Cairns we were greeted with Warren from Paradise Limousines who was so accommodating, super helpful and just an all round top guy. We then were dropped to Annette from The GBR fishing island tours who was warm, welcoming, humorous and a wealth of knowledge. As the boat got closer, paradise opened up. We were greeted by the caretakers, Heidi and George who honestly were outstanding throughout the whole stay. Anything we needed, they were onto it and with such positiveness, kindness and genuineness. They even took us around the island for a free private tour on their personal boat, what a win! The villa was in immaculate clean condition with fresh flowers daily. The deck was phenomenal. I still close my eyes and revision either laying on the swing with a cocktail in hand or on the daybed one metre from the ocean, feeling the warm sun caress my skin. There were endless swimming spots between the selection of mesmerizing island beaches or our very own private pool with water activities galore. We were married on the sand infront of the ocean bay and coconut palms as our backdrop. Heidi and George were our witnesses. It was the most intimate ceremony that we shared with perfect strangers who in that moment became so much more to us. The weather was consistently 28-32 degree days with clear skies and clear waters. The nights were warm with a breeze but you need to leave all doors and windows open to really feel it. Overall, we could not have asked for better weather. I still get goosebumps thinking about this whole experience at East Bedarra Island. We will be going back on our anniversary in the next few years so we can provide the experience to our children and well... go back to paradise!! …

We went to this magical place for an enlopement on the 12th April 2023 omg it was absolutely beautiful in every way the place was quiet private had spectacular views and the caretakers Heidi and George were amazing we could not fault them going out of their way , taking us for a tour around the island and giving us some history and they were also our witnesses for our beautiful wedding day once again they helped us organise the special day , a big thanks to Candice the photographer , Maria the celebrant , Karen the hairdresser and makeup lady , was an amazing day and they all played a great part , we got married around the other side of island which is also magical , most relaxing place to be service was pretty good , weather was perfect , faculties good probably just needs air con down the track as would be super hot in summer , but you do have a pool outside bedroom to swim in and the ocean out the front , sue who managers the bookings was helpful and only upset to whole week away was we got stuck on the island and George and Heidi were so great they used their own boat to get us to mission beach before weather turned nasty so they were great once again , very friendly place is lovely and clean and Heidi always made sure we had fresh flowers on the table at all times they were so accomodating love them x love bedara island it’s so bloody beautiful and wish I could click my fingers and be back there now , wonderful experience wonderful staff and would be back ❤️ beautiful walks around the island , perfect sunsets Just remember to take lots of food and order plenty of alcohol to take across to island but paradise 🌴…

Eat Bedarra experience was simply perfect. From the excellent team making all the arrangements, and advice to the stunning setting and total isolation from the rest of the world. Our caretakers were fantastic, absent and invisible for most of th estay, and very helpful and attentive when needed. The house is comfortable, clean and all ammenities are available. The lack of air conditioning (due to off grid power) did not bother us in any way. We will be back. Thankyou Gene and team.

The minute we arrived at east bedarra island retreat we were mesmerised by its beauty We were greeted by our amazing caretakers who helped us settle in and show us around this amazing retreat , it was everything we had hoped it be and more. It was booked back in 2020 for our 30th year wedding anniversary but never happened , fast forward 2 years later it was well worth the wait!! For us it was absolute paradise away from everything. Caught and ate plenty of fish and oysters directly from the sea , kayaked , hiked and walked around most of the island . Plenty of relation and the views were to die for . We had the most amazing time on East bedarra island retreat , Thank you so much Gene and Sue for this amazing island retreat it is definitely worth every penny . Santo and Daniela…

A few days on this magic island are the best memories of my Australian adventures. Full of miracles, untouched beauty, far from typical tourist routes - you can’t find better place to connect with nature and find new inspiration. This island has its own soul, it’s like a complete universe… talking straight to your imagination. So fascinating to watch how the landscape changes during the day: at the evenings tidal wave comes straight to the veranda and you can feel ocean so close, embracing you, whispering all night… l was in absolute love with the swimming pool, original product of stone and wind, filled by the pristine salt water. In the middle of the night you can jump into and enjoy the stars, dancing around … Even staying so close to bare nature, great to be surrounded by a functional luxury: you can watch movies not leaving a swimming pool; enjoy great choice of coffee, while watching the sunrise; do any physical activities you like, from yoga on the wooden veranda to canoeing… Bedrooms are designed for the most healthy and blissful sleep ever! And maybe not only sleep… Incredible trip, I envy everyone who is just about to explore this marvellous place! …
