This is great accommodation and plenty of room for your caravan as it is not crowded like other parks in the city of Townsville. Is about 10km from the strand, the heart of Townsville. Also has lovely walking track along the river behind the park with a dog activity park. Dogs allowed in this park which is run by the Seventh Day Adventist Church, you don't have to be a member of the Church. I recommend this thoroughly!

We have stayed many times and love this place. The staff are friendly and the location very central to shopping, walking along the Ross River and a short distance to the Townsville Hospital. Bus stops at the end of street, which is a short walk from the Centre. The units have a disabled unit also. A bookshop located 2 minutes from accommodation which is worth checking out. The area is so peaceful away from street noise. Cleanliness is excellent and always plenty of hot water.

We booked and stayed at the Riverside Convention Centre's powered caravan site for a couple of days to be close to our son and daughter in laws home nearby, what a great decision. The park is part of the Seventh Day Adventist Church's convention centre and is made available to the public when not required by the church.

The church has strict guidelines pertaining to alcohol and tobacco use and request that all visitors to the centre abstain whilst staying with them "when in Rome, do as the Romans do" it's not that hard!!!

Our site was large enough and where we were, they off set and stagger the vans one forward and one behind giving everyone a much larger area - well done! The amenities are dated and could do with "THE BLOCK RENO TEAMS" love and attention however they are adequate to say the least.

Access to the wonderful Ross River walk behind us is magnificent, through the gate and you are there - an off the leash fenced dog area with doggy training track is right beside the exit gate as well. Stocklands Shopping centre is less than a kilometer away and local shops are even closer.

The fees are very reasonable for this dog friendly and centrally located facility which also caters for the vehicle travelers as well - various sized and appointed cabins are available at very reasonable rates.

We think that you would enjoy staying at the Riverside Convention Centre and we will definitely be returning again soon.

Stayed here for two nights but had to leave due to a church convention during the coming week. The amenities are dated but clean with good hot showers. Very short walk to a very nice park on the Ross River. The host is very nice, accommodating and takes good care of the guests. Recommended as s good place to stay.

We stayed at the caravan sites behind the convention centre and were very impressed with the grassed, shady area. Kept very clean and well watered the grass and shady trees kept the area cool. Bring on the river meant access to a fantastic riverside walk and a leash free area for dogs. The amenities were clean but very tired. Close to shops and attractions along with the reasonable tariff made for a pleasant stay.

This is an excellent facility to stay while in Townsville. It’s right next to the Ross river which has many walks, a dog run and playground for the kids. The facilities are old but spotlessly clean. We went unpowered for $20 pn. Value for $$$. Washing machines only $3 a load. Shopping centre within walking distance or 5mins by car. Although the ground is dry and not a lot of green grass, I can’t fault this place. It is a no alcoholic drink facility but didn’t worry us. Lovely to find a place that does not try to rip you off. Well done and thank you for a great 5 day stay.

We stayed at Riverside Convention Centres campsite, so I cannot comment on the rooms and cabins the also rent out.

Riverside is actually not a 'tourist park', but is the Seventh Day Adventists church convention centre. However, when the church isn't using the area for conventions, the rent out the accomodation and campsite to 'ordinary' tourists.

We paid AUD 15 per night for a grassed site, for two adults in a campervan. The amenities are fairly old, but well kept, so the price is (in my opinion) very competitive.

As this is a place run by the 7th Day Adventists, we were told that all forms of alcohol and tobacco was forbidden on the premises, as well as it was against the rules to clean pots, pans and dishes, that had been in contact with 'unclean' meat (like pigs and kangaroos) at the dishwashing point.
These bans correspond with the beliefs of the church, and since it's their place, we accepted their rules.

The manager was, however, extremely friendly and helpful. For instance, she let us charge our cellphones and camera batteries in the reception overnight, and was very helpful in suggesting sights and attractions in the area.

We stayed here for a fee nights on the camping ground. Much space, clean toilets and showers and enough shade to put your camper or tent. Shops on 5 minutes drive or 15 minutes walking distance. When we were there in the second week of November only a few campers were there so we had lots of space.

"The self contained villas are beautiful, but we normally stay in our caravan. The motel is also very comfortable."
