This was a great hotel to stay at and had a perfect location being walking distance from the Strand and right on Flinders Street next to the bars, restaurants and night life. It certainly buzzes in and around the hotel on weekends (this was pre Corona) and felt like an upmarket flash packer hotel.

The rooms are nice and crisp and clean (I had a Queen room) and I liked the blue and white colours which felt modern and inviting. The rooms are arranged around the sides with a pool and bar/restaurant in the centre and right outside my room was a balcony overlooking Flinders Street with easy chairs and drinks tables. I liked being able to order drinks from the bar and sit on the balcony next to my room and look out and see all the activity going on in the street below (party goers getting out of cabs, friends chatting & smoking, etc).

Free secure undercover parking is available – you enter around the back entrance. For $100 room charge I thought this was an excellent hotel to stay for a night. The staff were friendly as well. They have a café attached which was very busy the morning I checked out – it was understaffed and the wait was long but it was a public holiday and not much else was open. Only negative - the free wifi didn’t work at all which was annoying.

I would definitely stay here again though for the location and overall quality of the stay.

We stopped here for one night travelling down the east coast before we reached Airlie Beach. First impressions were great hotel looks lovely pool area good with a lot of seating. Couldn’t check in until 2pm but got use of full facilities and could leave bags in baggage room which was good. Bedroom had what we needed comfy bed and clean towels however when taking a shower found hairs all over the floor and the glass of the shower was very dirty. I spilt water on the floor filling the kettle as it doesn’t fit in the sink, on wiping the floor with tissue it was black so obviously hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The bed side table had pubic hair on. We made a hot drink to find the milk was stale one was open and one was frozen. On checking out we told the receptionist about the matter to her response that the rooms are clean and we were wrong. May I add the bar staff in the Italian restaurant On the rooftop were lovely and very welcoming. An ok stay if it’s one night passing through. Cleaning overall needs attention

We booked this hotel months in advance and asked for a room at the back of the hotel due to noise. Got there and told our room wasn't ready even half an hour after check in time. Placed in a room at front of hotel that was VERY NOISY. Asked to move to requested room but told hotel was full and treated as though we were asking something unreasonable even though we had booked so far ahead. Due to the hotels location this hotel is very noisy until about 4am

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback about your visit. We’re very sorry about the noise your experienced during your visit with us. We are exploring a range of sound dampening products and technology to reduce noise in the rooms towards the front of the property to minimise noise impact from the Flinders Street precinct. Having stayed at this hotel previously my expectations were not very high as I’ve noticed a few small issues with the business, however the price usually compensates. But this time even despite the well priced $80 a night I was deflated by the few issues in my room. The aircon was stuck on, the shower overflowing, the lack of privacy due to poor design and inferior curtains, the worn out and uncomfortable mattress, the TV that had no channels or connection and last but not least the feeling from staff that my complaint was not welcomed nor was my opinion valued. Such a cool place being held back by either management or financially constraining owners limiting managements ability to value its customers.
On a positive note, I’ve enjoyed a pretty good wood fired pizza here on last stay and the location and parking is convenient

Not clean- someone elses facial hair in the sink and on the bathroom floor.

Poor design- the fire doors have to be slammed to shut. There is no soft way of closing them. I could hear doors being shut 3 or 4 rooms away.

The bathroom consists of a shower room, basin and then a toilet room. The problem being is there is one switch to operate all 3 downlights. If you get up in the night to go to the toilet then anyone else in the room is awake with the light.

To get to your room you have to walk through a restaurant. Everyone just stares at you with your bags. There is also a lot of noise generated with people being people eating and talking.

Noisy- lots of noise from the street. I woke up to someone banging a drum on the street about 1am.

I would feel comfortable standing out the front with a sign saying don’t stay here it was that bad.

Very cute place with stylist rooms. However it wasn’t until bedtime, after reception had closed we noticed a few issues. We had no soap, in the day & age this is essential, we had to rely on our own hand sanitiser we brought with us. There was this loud humming noise, most likely coming for someone’s air conditioning unit. In the middle of the night I woke up cold & found that there were no blankets in the room - only a sheet & a thin cover already on the bed. Overall it lead to an uncomfortable night sleep.

A group of 16 stayed over 2 nights. The staff were amazing , The food on the roof was really good, Friday afternoon $1 oysters were exceptional value for plump fresh oysters . Pizzas were really good and very popular .Pool area nice and clean and fresh looking .
A little bit more detail to cleaning rooms is advised , but over all a really great place to stay right in the middle of the Flinders Street night life and not too far from really good shopping

We had booked for three nights in the villa. There were four rooms and a normal bathroom, but then a weird shower only x2 area a similar to those you have at a camping ground. The rooms were very worn, scratches and marks all over, floor not in great condition. And the view was of rocks. Two bedrooms had windows looking into the side of a cliff, our other views were of the cement walls leading to the carpark. Pretty disappointing, considering we were close to the strand. The carpark entrance had us scrapping our car bottom every time we came or left. The idea of the pool was nice, until you realise you are swimming next to the very public and popular restaurant , frequented by noisy locals. We at ate the restaurant one night and were also disappointed. Pizza was delivered 20mins after ordering , everyone else’s meals came 20. Mins after that. Overall, not what we expected and would not recommend.

We have stayed here before for 5 nights so thought we would bring our friends. Our rooms 30 &31 were near the pool and it wss a bit noisy from a group of women in the pool area. They moved at 10pm which we were happy about but must have gone elsewhere because they wrte walkok ng around until 4:30am making a lot of noise we cpmplained to front deskwho gaves us a free breakfast. They told us the local group would be banned.

Me and my partner stayed here for one night as a little break from the travelling life. The room was brilliant as spot on for a nice relaxing day and evening. The amenities including pool were beautifully presented and well kept. We also ate dinner and breakfast in the cafe downstairs. Absolutely delightful. We got the 10AUSD rump steak deal they do on Tuesdays and it did not dissapoint. The bests steak we have both had in quite some time. Breakfast was also very tasty and well priced. 10 dollars for eggs and sourdough, you can’t go wrong. Nice lite healthy breakfast to start the day. The upstairs bar provides some nice chilled vibes in the evening. They also do very good meal deals. We opted for a lovely glass of Pinot to wrap up the a perfect stay.

Thank you Rambutan. We had a great time.
