Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have rented a cabin for 2 1/2 years. Has been a few changes in management during our time. Current managers Russell n Kaylene have been great managers, always willing to fix repairs quickly, doing as much as they can to improve the park. We have seen them bend over backwards to help people who come in with food, furniture and even items for a new baby, to have those very people turn on them. Everyone needs to be responsible for themselves, get a job, provide for their children, not think they are entitled. Russell and Kaylene are not racist, my partner is dark they have only ever treated him with respect. We both still work, my partner is 76. We look after ourselves, help others when we can, mind our own business and wish others would too so everyone can enjoy the park in peace.

I stayed at blue water caravan park for 1 week and the least I can say is that it's one of the cleanest campsite I've ever been to (facilities, kitchen, laundry).
Moreover, the manager and the people who live there are really nice. I highly recommend. There is lots of things to do around such as castle Hill, crystal Creek to name a few or you can also hit the bars in Townsville or just chill at the pool.

We so enjoyed our stay at Bluewater, we did not want to leave! It felt like home. It is beautiful, clean, safe, peaceful. The Owners/Staff are so friendly and helpful, and the other guests are also friendly. We camped in a tent for two weeks, and the campsites are very large, plenty of room. The toilets and showers were very close and very clean. It was like camping in the wilderness but still close enough to Townsville and activities that it was not a hardship to get into town. Lots of native birdlife in the park. There is a pool and large BBQ and kitchen available.

Unfortunately facilities need some TLC one block in ladies locks don’t work on toilets or they jam and you are almost stuck in there.
Roof leaking in out her block and lots of broken tiles at sink. Hot shower ok. Boom gate doesn’t work so anyone can access off the highway. It’s a large flat paddock area not as lush as advertised. No bins around just an overflowing skip down new red the office. There are sacks around for cans. Is 30 from Townsville but that’s along the highway at 100km.
The sites are big and plenty of space. A short stopover point is what this park is best for as right on the highway , or if your working up this way and need cheep accomodation.
Most of park looks like time stopped when the people moved in.

Hello, thankyou for your review. There are over 20 bins located throughout the park for your use plus the large one located at the camp kitchen and the three large skip bins located at the front of the property. The boom gate is also in good working order, I apologise for any misinformation that you have been provided and or assumed. We appreciate your feedback. Thanks Bluewater Caravan Park.

We found this wonderful park by chance. We booked in for a week but stayed longer. While we were there we had family for a bar-b-que around the fire pit. We grew from 2 to 12. We had a great time. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and welcomed our family as they did us and our dog. There is a very large arear where you can free run your best mate. Its a very large open park ,with very large sites. The highway is next to the park, but, we really didn't have any traffic noise to contend with. The amenities are old but very clean. There are 3 of them so your never far from one. We highly recommend this great park and we will be back for longer next year.

Pulled in at 11pm and followed the instructions on the door for after hours checkin. Ring the bell or ring this number. We rang the bell. The door was answered by a man. A female was behind him, I asked if we could set up a tent for the night. She said 'You're kidding' he said 'No'
Closed the door in our face.
Hospitality is DEAD AND BURIED at this van park!!!

Hi Colleen Unfortunately we do not allow tents to be set up at 11pm at night as it past our noise curfew due to disrupting other guests. We offer check in up to 8.30pm & this is advertised on both our Website & Facebook. We are unaware of any caravan parks that are open 24/7. The man was not rude- he stated that this was unavailable at this time of night. Thanks for your feedback. Management.

Thank you for leaving this review, but let me clarify a few things for you. 1. Management did NOT have parties at the unpowered Camp Kitchen, it was a paying guest's 21st birthday & her family had paid for the entire unpowered camping area to host this. You were given plenty of notice & we gave you a powered site for free for the inconvenience, but your party had arrived after this specific booking was made. You even got 3 nights free accommodation for the troubles of moving to a powered site for 1 night. 2. There was no vomit down at the unpowered area, as it was fully inspected & left very clean from the guests for the birthday in order for them to get their security deposit back. I do apologise for the music, I was not aware it went after midnight as no one rang the after hours phone or made complaints about it. 3. Finally, I did NOT breach you because of your son crying - You were given multiple warnings in regards to not properly disposing of your sons dirty nappies correctly, for driving your vehicle inside the area that you were clearly told was not to be driven into. There was also the warning in regards to your domestic arguments - we had multiple complaints in regards to the loud fighting & swearing at each other at 6 am. Residents & guests in the park also complained because you had a lot of personal belongings all over the camp kitchen area (Which was a communal camp kitchen) & the guests felt like they couldn't go down & have BBQ's or utilise that area because of all the clothes & such strewn all over that area. The final issue was the language & inappropriate behaviour at the office when the police were called because one person in your group had came in asking for an ambulance to be called for him, which we happily complied.

Nice maintained peaceful park, clean and excellent amenities, well equipped laundries AND they allow dogs. Reasonably priced. What more could you want. This park is definitely on our revisit list next time we are travelling to Townsville.

Across the course of January I have had occasion to stay at this venue on various nights. Early on I found the managers very friendly, the park neat and tidy, and was quite comfortable with the facilities such as pool, camp kitchen, amenities block etc. There is work to be done but it was obvious that things 'were happening' and all looks to me like this venue is in for improvement.
Unfortunately, a death in the family, forced me to have to head south very quickly. The managers were great - they pointed me to a nearby chattery so I could attend to the care of my pet. For a very modest price they were happy to store motorhome at the park for the ten days I was away. Even better they kindly put my motorhome back onto a powered site, and ensured that the aircon was running - for my return to Bluewater. Sometimes it is not about the level of facilities BUT ABOUT the care shown by staff to their customers. These guys were great and I will definitely visit in the future. Thanks Anne and 'Damo'.

We chose the Bluewater Caravan Park because it is a CMCA friendly and offers a discount to CMCA members. Needless to say we were exceptionally surprised by the huge sites the park provides so we were not sandwiched between adjacent vans as in the majority of parks. Although the ablution blocks are ageing they are clean and well presented. The showers even have room to move, again, unlike the miniscule spaces offered in the majority of parks. Would we recommend it to other travellers? Undoubtable! Will we be back again? Definitely if our travels bring us back in the future.
