Detailed Reviews
We were travelling through from cairns to Adelaide with our Great Dane and English cocker spaniel and they were so happy to help out with a beautiful room where the dogs were able to stay in the room with us . The room was clean and fresh the only thing that was a bit of a disadvantage was the shower it was a very tiny room and I struggled a bit as I’ve had two knee replacements but the shower was very clean but I can’t complain really as it was a pet friendly room and we were only there one night.
I would stay here again for sure travelling with or without the dogs.
I would recommend this hotel

Flight was delayed so check in was going to be after reception had closed. When I rang the front office to inform them, they were most obliging telling us that we could check in at the restaurant. We arrived at the restaurant and were immediately seen to with check in being seamless and when asked - graciously gave us fresh milk for the room and when I purchased a bottle of wine, they offered an ice bucket.
The room was immaculate. We did not require a room service the next day, but Housekeeping came and did a tidy up anyway. The Oasis is in a great position in the CBD, close to everything and handy to the Strand as well.
Highly recommended, great friendly staff and very clean & adequate rooms.

By motel standards I think the City Oasis is a 4/5. The grounds are magnificent (the pool and heated spa are the highlight) with a lot of greenery and plenty of parking spaces. It's located just a few minutes walk from the CBD, and like everywhere in Townsville, cheap electric scooters are always parked nearby which can be rented by the minute.
The staff were nice and there's a good café on-premises (and free toast and cereal for breakfast because I booked directly). The TV has inbuilt Chromecast so you can stream your media.
The one negative is the housekeeping schedule, I don't think my room was cleaned throughout my 6-night stay there. My understanding is that rooms won't be cleaned (except for the bins being emptied and some fresh towels) unless you're staying for over a week. I think room cleaning should be more regular than that.

We spent 7 nights here in a Executive Room with Kitchen. The Inn is located higher up the hill in the CBD area. There is parking at the back, but not enough for the rooms, so you might want to check on parking if you are driving there. We had parking each night but possibly because we only went out in the car once ... everything we wanted to see was in walking distance and the carpark was full each night. The pool area is beautiful and there is one washing machine and dryer for guests to use ($5.00 each go). The Inn is very clean and tidy and although being in the CBD was very quiet (we had a front street room).
Woolworths is about a 5 minute walk away and right beside a really nice little foody lane. Nice short walks to all the tourist things, Cowboys Stadium, The Strand, The Museum, Queens Gardens, Castle Hill (the Goat Track up behind the Inn) and Reid Park for the Supercars.
Room was a good size, well appointed, comfortable and nice and clean. Loved the open window and dining table. Only down side was that there was only one padded sitting chair for relaxing watching TV at night, the other option was the bed or a dining chair. Would stay here again.

When we arrived it was like wow, we had our German Shepherd with us and the grounds were amazing for her to explore . The room was very spacious and Everything was clean and well presented the only hiccup was the aircon filters they were very dirty , we ended up cleaning then ourselves, we understand that sometimes things can be missed due to being very busy . This was the best pet friendly place we have stayed at so far we will be back . Thank you for a fantastic stay

We stayed in the executive room for couple of nights. The place is massive. The kitchen has hot plates and utensils which we found very helpful. 5 mins away from shopping strip and 15 mins away from Castle Hill lookout and Strand Park. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean and spacious. Free parking spot inside the property. After hours check-in was smooth. Highly recommended. Will stay again.

+1
The front desk staff was exceptionally welcoming, however, our overall experience was disappointing and we would not choose to stay here again. Staff are available primarily from mornings until around 6 pm, after which they leave promptly.
Upon our arrival after a 19-hour journey, our room was in an unacceptable state: there were noticeable marks on the walls, splatters on the mirrors, suspicious stains on the shower curtains, and the outlet didn’t work. Additionally, the floor had not been vacuumed, among other issues (seen in photos). I raised these concerns at the front desk, and the owner eventually upgraded our room, albeit after remarking that he, “had never seen someone so upset over a dirty room.”
In the next room, we found that the fan only worked on one setting. Moreover, the cleaning staff's service was inadequate—they merely emptied the trash and changed towels upon request. The room was never vacuumed during our six-night stay, and the sheets were not changed either. Notably, none of the bathrooms were equipped with a fan.
This establishment seemed more akin to a hostel, with large groups of teenagers coming and going, and families who appeared to be long-term residents on the property.

Dear ChloebP7554FL Thank-you for leaving us a review. Generally, it is our policy to respond to reviews in good faith, and keep the commentary brief. In view of your experiences, there are a few inaccuracies that we need to clarify. Although our reception is not maintained 24 hours a day, we have managers who live onsite, and are contactable at any time, with guests given their contact details on arrival (the details can also be found in our digital guest directory). Upon your arrival, due to your long travel time, we understand that you and your family were exhausted, and were dealing with the extra challenges of having lost luggage and having difficulty corresponding with the airlines responsible. When you came into reception, I came straight up to your room so I could address your concerns. When saying, I had “never seen someone so upset,” it was meant from a place of concern, due to the fact that your mother, Angela verbally expressed extreme levels of exhaustion and stress due to the lost luggage, also taking into account that you were so visibly upset when speaking with us in reception. Our staff do like to be courteous, hospitable and empathetic; we are sorry if this was lost in translation. On listening to your feedback, we offered you a full refund on your entire accommodation, as we felt that you may wish to stay at another property. We also showed Angela several different room options which were fully self contained and gave the option of a full refund or move rooms. Your family decided to move to a room with cooking facilities at no extra cost. We asked that if you had any further concerns, to please speak with our office staff immediately, and we’d try to accommodate you as best we could. We note also that your mother Angela spoke with us a number of times throughout your stay and thanked us for our helpfulness. We were operating at 100% occupancy during your stay. We have a healthy mix of corporate travellers and holidaymakers, none of whom are long term guests. In fact, staying for 6-nights, you probably had one of our longer length of stays at that time. In regards to your observation of young people, there were groups of international University students on short stays who were in Townsville having specialist lectures and educational experiences. We could understand why you may think some of our guests are ’families who appeared to be long-term residents on the property’ as you stayed over the V8 Supercars/ Cowboys home games weekend where we welcome back repeat guests who have been staying with us for these events over multiple years – I guess we do treat our guests like family. Chloe, again we apologise for the distress caused to you. I hope your sister Jasmine has settled into her studies in Townsville Kind Regards Brendan

Outstanding service from owner/manager Brendan. We rang quite late in the day and he offered us "The Loft" as all other pet friendly rooms were booked.
This room/apartment was larger than an average apartment and simply lovely, with a great view of Castle Hill. We will definitely stay here again for any future visits.
We are very happy to provide this review as we hope it makes your decision easier!

We stayed for 7 days during April 2022, accomodation was more than acceptable and facilities great.
Adjoining rooms was an absolute bonus for our older children to be seperate from the main living area, with the added bonus of a washer and dryer.
The pool and spa areas were clean and beautiful and away from most buildings, so noise was not an issue.
Highly recommend.

Hello Molly,
The spa is usually between 32 and 37 degrees.
Hope to see you soon,

Very helpful manager overall so could be flexible if you ask, otherwise usual 10am or some such.
Not generally but helpful manager will often negotiate a deal. They don't have breakfasts available on Sundays at all.
