I spent three nights at civic guesthouse and it was absolutely perfect. Really friendly staff without being intrusive, a comfy bed with a fridge in the room. Great kitchen facilities, excellent cleanliness throughout. Short walk to flinders street for bars and other places to eat and a short walk to the strand. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay...

This was a well equipped and clean backpackers accommodation. Our private double room was not large but had a fridge, sink and was comfortable. The bathrooms were great, there was a bath and they had a home from home feel about them. There was also a drop off service throughout the day to get in to town. Washing facilities were...

Definitely a great place to stay in Townsville. The super nice owner of the location is picking you up from the ferry or greyhound. The atmosphere in the hostel is nice and more familiar. Facilities are planned and organized to meet the travelers needs.

The service in this hostel is amazing the woman in charge couldn't do enough for you and gave you a home like feel. The location is good a short walk to aquarium and main centre. Really nice vibes at this hostel. Welcoming and smooth check-in experience. Shared a double room with my partner; comfortable mattress, handy having a sink in the room, quiet A/C and ceiling fan. Was great to come back to after a long, hot day. Bathrooms always immaculate! Impressed with cleanliness of kitchen, also. Take a hike up Castle Rock as hostel...

Very busy and I can see why! Planned on staying one night with intentions of moving to another hostel but extended it to three nights! The staff were friendly and welcoming and helped me along my way with regards to finding employment! If I'm in Townsville again I would stay again without hesitation.

I don't think I have ever felt this at home at a backpackers during my travels.. Even though Mrs Z and her family left South Africa many years ago, they never lost that South African hospitality. As a fellow South African, that had to be my favourite part. Truly awesome service and lovely vibe. Highly recommended!

It's a nice clean hostel and the people that works there also live there but that means there are a lot of long stayers so they make kind of there own group. I didn't spend that much time at the hostel but that was the vibe I got
