The waterfront units have generously sized kitchen, dining and lounge. The kitchen is well laid out and easy for more than one person to cook in. Comfortable queen sized beds in the adults' bedrooms and an ensuite for the main bedroom and with the other bathroom positioned with doors to both the bunk bed room and other bedroom, ensure that there is no fighting over which couple gets the better room ;)
Staff are welcoming and polite. The facilities are well maintained. We are repeat visitors!

We have stayed here in our motorhome a few times now and every time it has been the perfect venue. Great live band on a Saturday night. If you are wanting quiet, dont go on a Saturday night however the band is finished early around 8 ish. We normally stay right on the beachfront in a site and the views are spectacular with the palm trees against the ocean. This time we stayed by the lake which was equally as beautiful. Just make sure you bring mozzie repellant. Showers are a decent size and always clean and unlike most parks they give you a mop to wipe the floor down before you have the shower which is great. Big swimming pool. Overall, a great spot for families and nomads.

Well if you want a good camp on beach front then try here. Gated access and great staff.
Right on front..,of course with three lakes then mozzies will hand about so dont blame the venue .
All sites have great space and amenities are very good and very clean
Good swimming pool
Stocked fishing lakes
Nice sandy beach
Isolated so relaxing
But, little wildlife
But still very much recommended

We have friends that suggested this place and it was close enough to try out our camper trailer. We went with a powered ensuite site and traveled with our 3 year old. We arrived in the late afternoon and got introduced to the local mozzies while we were setting up and then some local rain. The next day we went for a walk around. There was plenty of clothesline space available to dry out some our wet gear. There’s a little cafe/bar on-site. Coffee was good, they do wood fire pizza on Saturday nights and had a band there. The music was good to listen to while chilling out at our camp and eating pizza. The pool was great, we visited it a couple of time a day to tire out our son, he loved it, especially the little waterfall and cave. There is a catch and release lake/pond there, I didn’t bring my gear but next time I will. We did go for a walk along the beach and picked up some nice shells. Having grown up on North Queensland beaches I think there are better ones around. It was just great hearing the waves and the coolish afternoon breeze. Overall it was a nice place to camp, we can’t compare it to others yet but we had a good time and will go back. Remember to bring something for the mozzies, not sure if there all over the park.

Our eight weeks stay at Rollingstone in our caravan was another wonderful Rollingstone experience. The reception staff of Jody, Dawn and Vanessa were each extremely efficient and helpful and friendly. Dean and his team maintain the grounds of the park in perfect condition and all of the staff are willing to help residents of the park at any time. We have recommended Rollingstone to many of our friends and look forward to visiting again next year.

My wife and I stayed at Rollingstone Beach Front Resort for a few nights on an ensuite site one row back from the beach . The sites are large and easy to park. The amenities are clean but, like many, need a bit of an upgrade.
Rollingstone is very isolated at the end of a narrow road leading to the highway, it is then another 20-min drive to get to the outskirts of Townsville. There are no supplies provided by the office, so you have to go to Townsville to get any necessities - or stock up before hand!
The main thing to do at Rollingstone is walk along the beach. At low tide it is possible to walk a long way going south as the creek is easy to cross. Going north it is all easy walk, but the 'view' is ruined by the presence of rough camps. These are camp sites that look like they have been abandoned, with shelters, chairs and other camping paraphernalia. How they are used is a mystery!
While we enjoyed being close to the beach, it had the downside of little protection when the wind was blowing, so we put up our annexe end walls.

Overall, it is a great place to escape and relax!

Absolutely disappointing. The sites we were given had dog poo left throughout and dog kibble everywhere. There was no grass and one site was smaller than the other with a big tree in the middle. The toilet and shower blocks were a disgraabsolute filth!

It was a Friday night and as a family with children we stayed up playing a card game. Time got away from us and we were about to finish the game and go to bed. Before finishing the game we had an extremely rude staff member tell us to “go to bed” because they have received a number of complaints. We said our noise was just talking which is a minimum and your rule states keep noise to a minimum after 10pm. We were told to pack up and go to bed again in a passive aggressive manner. The staff member wouldn’t leave until we literally packed up and went to bed. We asked her to leave. The next day at lunch time we left our site and got an aggressive and abusive phone call saying “I hope you don’t go down to the bar tonight and cause a nuisance again tonight” I informed the rude staff that we weren’t even drinking we were playing a card game with children. I was then told she couldn’t say how many complaints we had “I was stupid to think that she could give us that information.” We were also called trouble makers for trying to see what was so wrong about playing cards after 10pm. She continued to be abusive when asked what the actual complaint was and what a minimum noise stipulates. She was on speaker at the Rollingstone Pub and everyone was mortified about the way she spoke. I said I would see her when we returned to the site. Upon returning to the site we tried to have a conversation with her however she was extremely sarcastic and condescending. Much to her knowledge we recorded the conversation. They wanted us to leave without a refund and we stayed. Not only did this ruin our stay. We paid for abuse. They continually monitored our site. We asked the neighbours around us and they said they didn’t hear us at all and were sorry we were targeted. They said they heard more noise after 10pm on the Saturday night. Did anything get done about that NO! Our neighbours joke was that we are the “apparent rowdy bunch so they are coming to party with us.” I will be sharing this experience everywhere including higher up. If you would like to hear the conversation I am more than happy to share with anyone :)

To the ladies actually working the front desk, you are absolutely beautiful and I feel sorry for you working under these horrible people.

Unfortunately, our night duty staff was called out at 1am after multiple complaints from our guests to address this situation. As discussed, we cannot tolerate abuse of our team or disruption of other guests and after our conversations at the park, we wish to end the communications at that.

Rollingstone Resort was a great getaway...friendly staff, cocktails, pizzas and live music on a Saturday night. Cafe for coffees in the morning and snacks at different times of the day. The reception area where you book in also has ice for eskies and more.
Also you are not far from other attractions.

We drove into this place in the middle of nowhere on our way back South. We have been picking places or stopping at ones recommended for one night stays. Driving In the early mornings and then pulling up.
Pulled up and after reading a review decided we would check the place out first as it is an expensive place to stay if the review rang true. I do t believe all reviews btw I judge for myself. So we did what we thought was the correct thing and attended office to seek permission to have a quick look. We were told sorry we cannot allow that whilst we are full. There were so many vacant site you could have played cricket. We then asked again and we were then asked by the girl on Reception if we could come back Sunday arv’s when no one was there. Seriously?!?. So it would appear we missed a good spot but not allow someone to quickly check out the place before handing over $60 is ridiculous. No one is that special. So we went into another Big 4. We are members but that doesn’t seem to matter to some. Sorry to girl o. The desk but we will be in Airlie Beach come Sunday after staying in Mission Beach on the Friday. So much for the 3 park deal.

Have stayed here a few times before and have always enjoyed our stay. Great location. We have found the amenities are definitely not as clean as they should be and my husband has said that a lot of the cubicles in the mens need toilet paper constantly. The rubbish is left for way too long before being emptied. Unfortunately there is dog poo left by inconsiderate owners around the park also. The whole park is looking tired and needs some tlc.
