Despite the Expedia booking of a Motel Queen room, we were booked into a room for the disabled. The receptionist queried our booking and looked for an alternative, but decided that was the best option, which we found to be very good. We stayed for one night. The room and associated bathroom were quite large because of there special purpose. The room had a queen and a king bed and was very clean and well maintained. A cooktop, microwave, full size refrigerator, toaster, electric kettle were all available. While not needing the special features, we found the room to be very comfortable and spacious. While close to a main road, it was very quiet. The motel was within an easy walk to the Strand, which we benefitted from as we strolled along the Strand viewing the sea and a sculpture competition. This was a excellent experience after previously staying at some pretty poorly run and grotty Motels. The lady running the Motel couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and was not the usual low standard fit out. Unusually a full size fridge freezer, better quality fixtures and fittings all in good condition. A very comfy queen bed etc., Free laundry which again was well kept and clean. Good location, Coles Supermarket nearby, good restaurants and esplanade within easy reach. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

We had a one night stay at this motel before flying home the motel was spotlessly clean and very well fitted for a long stay as well as overnight location was good and even though on a main road very quiet - staff were great and informative

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Castle Crest Motel. Denise as always was welcoming and helpful, especially as our car had broken down, we had to wait for a hire car, and arrived at the motel at 7pm. We had an upstairs room looking over the courtyard and it was extremely quiet. The rooms are modern and immaculate. Hint 1: Ask for an extra blanket it your are a north Queenslander when staying there during an extreme cold snap. Hint 2: There is a great fish and chip shop within walking distance that closes at 8pm.

I stayed here to attend an athletics event. It is very close to the athletics facility (5-7 minute walk). It is also very handy for food - there is a supermarket and fish & chip shop on the next street corner and a Thai restaurant just up the road. There was a major football event in Townsville the same weekend and the internet was showing all rooms in Townsville as fully booked-out. I phoned the Manager, Denise who magically found a room for me at a great price. Very clean and tidy. I will be staying here in the future whenever I am competing in or attending athletics events in Townsville in the future.

We knew we would be a little late into Townsville from Rockhampton so rang Motel to see when reception closed. Denise the owner was so helpful and confirmed she would wait the 30 to 45 minutes after regular closing to check us in. The facilities were fantastic very clean and comfortable. It was very quiet and allowed us a great rest. The room was modern and well laid out. We can not speak highly enough about this establishment and the owners. Denise's husband even provided a jump start from his own vehicle to a fellow traveller who had a flat battery.

The rooms are very well maintained and really clean. Denise (the manager) is very helpful and knows what customer service is about. She will do everything to make your stay fabulous. The location is good as well, close to the strand and in quiet area/street. We would definitely stay here again!

Excellent accommodation, very friendly hosts, within walking distance to "The Strand" where we enjoyed a lovely meal. We were so impressed we chose to stay again on our return journey between Cairns and Mackay.

Denise the manager is a gem - so helpful and informed. The rooms were spacious, spotless, quiet and seriously comfortable. The location was close to The Town Common, Queens Park and Kissing Point for birdwatching and filming. Great fish and chips at the shop a short walk away, and close to local bus routes. I stayed on two occasions and was wrapped by the hospitality of Denise and Ian. I highly recommend Castle Crest Motel and will certainly stay there on future visits to Townsville
