We are just 10 minutes from the Townsville hospitals and airport, and close to shopping centres, the university, major sporting facilities, golf course, BMX and cycle tracks. We are the closest motel for people attending the Murray sporting complex and just 10 minutes from the new Queensland Bank Country Stadium if you intend watching the Cowboys play. We can cater for large sporting groups and clubs. Our refurbished accommodation is homely and inviting, and we aim to give our guests all the comforts, at an affordable price. We have 25 air conditioned rooms, with free undercover parking, free WiFi and laundry facilities. For those travelling with your family pet, we also have pet friendly rooms available subject to availability. There is an additional charge for pets. You must advise if you have a pet at time of booking to ensure we have you in a pet friendly room as all rooms are not pet friendly. Onsite we have a swimming pool with a BBQ and garden sitting area. Great room and atmosphere. The staff are a great asset to the Spanish Lace Motor Inn. Tam keeps on top of everything. Nothing too small. Just ask. Our pet Ben was catered for in that there is a little grassed area for to do his business. There is also plenty of walking areas around. Close to the shops and other amenities. We will stay there again.

We were relieved for a comfortable stay at this motel. The room had everything we needed and was quite big. The location was good for us as a one night stopover as it was near a local market called Otto's for a really yummy dinner. My dog was allowed at the motel and at Otto's (an indoor food market). Check in and check out were easy. Thanks for our stay.

The near perfect start was interupted when the plastic key that operates the lighting broke a small section off the plastic key when inserting into the socket ,this procedure had been done by me on numerous occasions until it broke off. Management changed their tone insinuating that i somehow broke it deliberately hense rendering the room useless and having to move me into another room. Now i will admit liability if i done something wrong but close inspection of the ageing key showed that not only was it held together with araldite Glue but the other side was cracked and ready to break off I have photos, Management told me i was responsible for this wear and tear not them and i would have to pay $50 or i would be evicted imediately. after heated debate and on possible eviction i paid $25 to save being thrown out. I was in Townsville Supporting my Wife in Townsville Hospital dealing with Prostate Cancer . This Motel was recommended by the Townsville Support Workers My repeated point to management was that this old brittle key was destined to break again as shown in the photos and management could not care only to hold me to blame and make me pay for something i had no control in. I would strongly not recommend this Motel although it was very clean , because of its policies to charge the guest even if it is wear and tear. …

Thank you for your review, key was not held together with araldite. We actually cut it when we had these keys permanently in the holder, but with the rising cost of electricity we decided to go back to using them. It was melted back together. If you noticed the key was damaged why did you not report it immediately.

Our stay at the Spanish Lace was excellent, the staff were welcoming and treated ourselves and our furr dog with love. Definitely going to return hopefully next year. Room clean and easy to get to anywhere in the city.

Perfect stopover with dogs. Has its own little gated garden and easy access to the river side walk which is perfect for dogs. Hosts were friendly and room was perfect with all amenities. Restaurants less than 1 km away. Would recommend for a quick overnight stop

We visit Townsville about 4 x each year. We have tried many accomodations but Spanish Lace is by far the best. The owners go over and above for you and your dog to make your stay a good experience. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Great facilities near by, dog friendly restaurants and parks. Close to town Center and Hospital. Highly recommended!!!!!!

It would have been great to have received the heads up that there would be a dozen or so workers & some hangers on, all from the same company whom thought it was a better option to drink & smoke in the Motel Carpark rather than venturing to an appropriate licence premises. Then after sunset they were reasonably silent, till the “Door Banging Orchestra” commence at approximately 0500 going constantly through to around 0630. Grease needs to be cleaned from the shower floor & the two filthy chairs in the corner need to be removed as what was written on the “We Care Note” left in our room.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Better they drink here than to go to licensed premises and drive with alcohol in their system. They were having a drink after a long day's work. We stopped smoking in front of rooms and have made 3 designated smoking areas. If this was an issue for you why did you not come to reception and complain? Instead of writing on the card and posting this review. Door banging, you could have stuck your head and asked if they could stop banging the doors. Or you could have called us and we would have intervened. As it states on the back of the door, if there is an issue to call us and we will attend. Seeing as you chose to not call us, what else could we have done? As for the chairs they were not filthy, but they were cleaned, yes, I admit they were a little dirty but certainly not filthy. You haven’t seen filthy, spend a day in our shoes and see what filthy is. The shower floor is not grease like you suggest, they were like that when we took over in 2019. I have tried numerous chemicals and scrubbed but nothing will move it. The showers are clean despite the stain on the floor. If you can come up with an inexpensive solution to remove the stain let’s hear it.
