Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The location was great, pity the park itself was a bit worn out. The amenities block was rather dreadful with missing tiles and staines. We were happy that it was close enough for us to ride our bikes around town, but the park really needs lots of T.L.C.

Amenities were in desperate need of a make over, every shower had missing tiles on the floor, half the toilets were out of order, there are cctv cameras in the ladies bathroom! There were no grassy spots just lots of sand. No wifi, no shop, for the price we paid we would have expected a little bit better facilities. We did see a nice possum which was the best part.

I have had an unimpeded stay since arriving at this caravan park. I have read some of the bad reviews that have been written about this place, complaining about people arguing outside the park, next to the train lines? yeah the trains make noise too. I sleep with ear plugs in and a shade over my eyes. So, try your best, I understand that I am not living at the penthouse suite on the strand, but after paying rent for ten years without missing a payment, over $100,000 off of someones investment. To get two weeks notice and put into a rental market that they(the real estate,Kingsberry Harcourts) knew I was no longer eligible for, because rent has passed 50% of my income. Rent I can afford, it is other things I cannot afford. So, it is nice to even have somewhere nice to stay, full of people that always say hello to me as I pass, or sometimes stop. Some of it has character but it is always clean and cleaned, I see that guy there every morning, some people must have been getting up later and missed him. It is an 'old' caravan park, like me. I've been here six weeks, the new manager works in hard copy, you can't beat that. Once your name is written down on that date for that site, no computer or person can change that, no 'sorry computer says no' here. Down to earth people, friendly travelers, I have always felt safe here and KNOW that everybody will watch out for you. Whether they know you or not. Angle parking for vans so people that can't reverse can even get them in, plenty of shade, not enough heat at the moment, got to complain about something. Don't know where all these other people stayed, maybe they weren't nice people, and didn't fit in.

I’ll definitely stay again great value for money. The amenities block is a little dated apart from a few cracked tiles, everything works as it should and was always clean and tidy.
The grounds were well-maintained and the staff awesome( Big shout out to Justin the manager looking forward to seeing you when I’m back up there in August.
Location is great kilometre from the city to kilometres from the Strand and a 200 meter walk to Castletown where you have Coles and Woolworths

New Manager and staff are AWESOME.
I have previously stayed here about 6 months ago and whilst it was close to everything it was a little disappointing as the old manager was weird and creepy and very unhelpful...but I am happy to advise we stayed here again earlier this week and can tell you IT WAS AMAZING! The new manager and staff were so friendly and accommodating, the ammenities were clean and maintained, grounds were neat and tidy and the park itself was so nice and quiet.
Highly recommend staying here!

Town & country caravan park Townsville is not for the tourist !! It is a park for people from a low socioeconomic circumstance. Cheap hosing. The park has men wondering around. There are container type building housing at the rear for men in poor circumstance. Not a nice place to stay.

This Caravan Park seemed run down and forgotten.
The tiles on the floor of the Shower block have lifted, and been left, there is soap scum on the walls, and I doubt they have been properly cleaned in a long time.
The taps in the toilet block didn't look clean either. I was just glad the Shower and Toilets worked.

This would have to be the most disgustingly run “Tourist Park” that I have ever encountered.
Around 3 weeks before my arrival, I rang the park ( as they don’t have a website !) and spoke with a man named Hayden who told me he was the General Manager. I booked 2 Cabins with him and he told me it was all booked in - no problems..... well upon arriving at the park I was met with a closed office , the “Managers” phone switched off and about 5 or 6 permanent residents sitting outside a caravan near the entrance of the park, majority of them inebriated.
One of these people came and asked if I was looking for someone to which I replied - yes I have a booking here , he then proceeded into the managers private residence & a few minutes later I was met by a very scruffy young man who looked like he had just woken up or was possibly on some kind of other substance who then proceeded to flip through the booking book and tell me that there was no booking for me ... I said you are joking & he said no .
I then asked to speak to Manager Hayden who had taken my 2 bookings and was told he was laying down & to I’ll to speak to me .
Obviously realising I was getting no where with this person , I told him that the organisation of the park was disgraceful & that I would most definitely be leaving a very negative review on Trip Advisor.... his reply was ... “ Do what you have to do” .
In summary I would not recommend this establishment to my worst enemy.... just appalling 😞

Through unfortunate circumstances we stayed at this caravan park for 2 weeks. The day manager provided no information about the park on our arrival. The night manager allows peoples dogs to run free in the caravan park if they are regular clients and does not see that this could be a problem. One of the dogs running free was part pit bull.

The amenities are very ordinary with many broken tiles. There are 4 washing machines but only 2 work. Some of the permanent residents get drunk regularly and this makes it unsafe for a female to walk in the park at night.
There is no dump site at this caravan park People then dump their toilets in the amenities block at midnight.
The road in the caravan park is beyond atrocious you lerch from one pothole to the next.

I would not recommend this caravan park to anyone. It is to expensive and should be bulldozed so that unsuspecting travelers are not caught there like I was

I hope not to visit here again. The Toilets were a mess and in a desperate need of Renovations. We found the sites were small, with a lot of dirty long term Caravans. I didn't check out the Laundry, so can't comment on that.
