Booked in here for a 2 week break and were astounded with the service provided by Lyn and Sarah. Could not speak highly enough of them and our stay at Breakers. Nothing was too much trouble . The rooms were extremely clean a credit to the staff who do the cleaning. They were always bright and cheerful. These premises are much quieter than staying in central Broadbeach but are only 5 minutes from same. The rooms were spacious , good views of beachfront and no noisy guests. Showers were very good an important point for us . Everything was provided for cooking , foxtel, washing and drier. We have no hesitation recommending this venue for a good holiday.

Fabulous!! We stayed in room 39, 2 beds/2baths. Stunning ocean views. Extremely well equipped unit. Great showers, comfy couch & plenty of room for 4 adults or a family. Outstanding customer service from both Sarah & Lyn. Fab location with bus at doorstep, tram a couple blocks away & beach on doorstep. Highly recommend

We just arrived home after staying in apartment 42 on level 7 for 6 nights. We wandered in off the street after being bitterly disappointed with the apartment we had been given at another establishment nearby. We found the staff at The Breakers to be very friendly and competent and upon hearing our tale of woe offered us apartment 42. The apartment was clean, modern, bright and spacious and offered a great standard of accommodation. Much more akin with what we are used to @ home.

The two balconies offered views of the both the city and the beach and we couldn't have been happier. We went to sleep with the sounds of the waves breaking on the shore rather than the sound of the traffic. We opened the windows in the kitchen slightly and took advantage of the cool night breeze.

Use of Foxtel on a large screen lcd was included in the price. The air conditioning was extra simply because previous tenants had not been conservative in their use. I had no issue with paying extra. After having an intial cool on arrival we saw no need to use the conditioner again.

The car park for no. 42 might be challenging for someone not familiar with their car - we had no trouble. The pool/bbq area and beach are accessable via a door in the basement. This meant easy access without disturbing other guests.

The location was wonderful and we appeared to be halfway between Surfers and Broadbeach. Either location was easily accessable.

We are a family of 4 with 2 small children. We hired a safe & sturdy portacot with bedding from The Breakers for 6 days for $45. We had an enjoyable stay and plan to return later in the year & ask for no. 42.

When we cooked our breakfast on the first day but we can not find any pan in kitchen and all cooking utensils & containers are too oily seems not to be ready for the new guests living. The washroom has some hair on the floor. Our bed sheets were not so clean either.

Overall the cleanliness of the room is unacceptable. I think the BnB needs to provide more training for their cleaners.

The hot water supply was not stable and used up quickly, so we had to spend a lot of time reheating the water. My body was almost frozen.

Only the location is quite good but will not make me stay in next visit to Gold Coast.

Not so sure you are writing this review on the correct property. We are not a BnB. All your concerns are definitely not indicative of any of our apartments here as has been reflected in many other great reviews.

I sometimes really wonder how places like this even get rating, leave alone good ones. Till date I used to be a very loyal contributor of this site, but strangely over the years hotel properties have learnt to navigate the system. Now I know how… If you see the good rating to this hotel is by people who have contributed only one or two reviews which totally mean that these people have not travelled hence oblivious of what to expect or the hotel owners are creating dubious accounts to bring up their ratings. It’s really sad that a once good site like this is being misused. I am not sure if I will come back soon unless something is done to maintain quality. And I know lots of my friends who are also frequent travelers are already off the site.
About this property… It’s an apartment… not even a serviced apartment, its like renting a basic apartment and paying hotel rates for it. When I go on holidays… and from my profile you will see… we travel a lot… I am going to a place spending loads of money to experience the place not to cook clean and vaccum and also pay what I would otherwise to get these things taken care of. Thanks … I rather stay at home then. In reviews I read they don’t service regularly but the fact they don’t service at all your entire stay is strange. They also don’t have a chute system for garbage disposal but you have to go down every time. This apartment is in the middle of nowhere… so if you don’t have a car you are pretty much stuck or you should be prepared to walk over 15 mins to get to even a watering hole. We had a car and this place had free parking so thank god for that.
Must be honest, the apartment was not dirty as some reviewers mentioned when we took it… it was very very basic. A dishwaher but no dishwashing liquid so off you go to supermarket/ a broken down mop no replacement so again off you go to super market… exactly 3 pans and one dirty frying pan – and they say its self-contained? So they day we were leaving we take an hour to clean up the place… garbage in the skip in the basement/ dishwasher loaded/ oven cleaned… Till date I have never done these things on a holiday especially when I am spending a daily rate to stay in a place.
Finally icing on the cake!!! My son while leaving left his brand new pencil case which he so fondly got and saved up for in the apartment. We called as soon as we realized to retrieve it and even asked our friends who lives in gold coast to go across and pick it up…we are told that they felt it was garbage!!! Seriously? A new Smiggles case is garbage? No my dear Breakers staff it’s not in the garbage but it is not sitting in one of your houses.
I will never stay here!! A request to the Trip advisor staff… please categorize your sections peoperly… this place is not a hotel – it is alternate accommodation… it does not deserve any stars as it has nothing that these stars stand for.
So if I have to rate this place on the categories you have mentioned here:
Service - none
value - poor - you are paying hotel rate and getting something which you will pay for a month what you are paying for a week
sleep quality - poor / hard spring mattresses
Clenliness - NONE
Location - 15 minutes walk to anywhere
Rooms - shabby worn out
restaurant and service ; ARE YOU KIDDING?

I was very disappointed to read your review and also very hurt to read your accusations re the creation of dubious accounts. I feel very offended to think you could say such a thing as it is quite clear from all the reviews that the guests have enjoyed their stays with us and are happy to pass on their positive experience. Some people are not as fortunate as you and your family to be regular travellers and it is a pleasure on our part to receive those positive reviews which can be shared by future guests - this is what Trip Advisor is all about - good or bad reviews are welcomed by all and most people can make their own mind up. For your information and for future guests - our property is made up of self contained (self catering) apartments - we do not provide one room with a bathroom, we provide a full sized apartment - the same as an apartment you would live in - you have a separate bedroom or bedrooms, a separate bathroom or bathrooms, a full laundry with a washing machine and dryer so you can look after your own laundering of clothing or simply freshen up your bath towels etc. A separate lounge/dining area and a full kitchen with a full size refrigerator, an oven, cooktop, microwave and a dishwasher along with all crockery/cutlery/glassware and cooking utensils to enable you to cook your own meals if that is what you wish. We also provide a starter of supplies (milk, sugar, tea, coffee, dishwashing liquid, dishwashing powder, laundry powder, soap and toilet paper) to assist prior to you going to the supermarket - once these are used you replenish these yourselves. We do not service the apartments daily unless you request us to do so and this would incur an extra charge - Guests who book self catering apartments do know that is the main point of difference and the very reason why they do so - if not then I do hope this helps future guests. Now to your stay - As you have shared your experience I now must share ours - I received a call from our cleaners to come up to your apartment after your departure and I must say I only get these calls when the cleaners need me to agree to pay them more to clean an apartment that has not been left in a neat and tidy manner. My normal procedure is to take pictures of these apartments which I keep on file to verify to guests if need be. I must say I was more than surprised when I read your review to note that you had spent more than an hour cleaning - the cleaners actually took away two bags of rubbish. Re the pencil case - I did ask the cleaners about this and they did see it and noted that it appeared to them to have been one that had come from a conference (it had promotional writing on it about Global Financial) and had it looked like it belonged to a child they would have let me know. As there was so much rubbish left in the apartment they assumed it was not required. After your phone call about it to me, I mentioned it to our cleaner and he actually went down to the garbage bin to see if it could be retrieved, however, there was too much rubbish in the bin and he did not want to wade through it all - I would not have expected him to either. I did apologise to you then and I apologise again - if we knew it was of importance we would not have thrown it away with the other rubbish. I now also take offence to your accusation that the pencil case is 'in one of our houses'. I am not sure about your last comments re cleanliness - none - as you have really contradicted yourself - you did mention earlier in your review that "must be honest the apartment was not dirty". I also note you made a comment about the restaurant and service - we do not have a restaurant. It is a shame you had to resort to placing such a lengthy review, which I feel was all about the pencil case - it is also a shame that you had to resort to unfounded hurtful accusations. I do hope all your many future travels with your family are enjoyable.

Hi,
The Breakers "Cabana" was OK. The cabana was a three storey townhouse with the main bedroom on the second floor and the kids loft on the third level. This particular cabana NO5 had no air conditioning- which was ok for us at the time because the weather was dismal but couldn't imagine it would be too comfortable in the heat of summer!! The position was absolute beachfront perfect!! literally out your door ten steps to the gate and you are on the beach. The only downside was the cabana was a little run down and had a lot of rising damp affecting walls and windows. The stairs leading to the top storey were extremely steep and wouldn't recommend for small children under 5. We stayed in the cabana for 6 nights and then moved into the main building for the last two nights.
The apartment in the main building was fantastic!
Apartment 19 Level 2 we would highly recommend it.. The apartment was clean, decorated with modern relaxed minimalistic decor. It had a spacious main living area which had fantastic views of the ocean/beachfront. We had wet tropical rainfall for the whole week but managed to do all the theme parks wearing ponchos in the rain!!! Our family had a ball
regardless and on the last day we awoke to sunshine would you believe it!!
Thanks to all members who expressed their opinions we took your advice and it worked so well. Merry Christmas to all

We had a great holiday here with our two teenage kids 12 and 17. They loved the large spacious units. We stayed in Unit 42 which has just been fully refurnished - very trendy and welcoming. Our unit was airconditioned and had two balaconies looking out over the hinterland and the beach. No roads to cross to the beach and there is well provided BBQ which is great for sunset dinners. It was a really friendly place too which was noce more personal that a big hotel which our children liked. We learnt that each unit is privately owned so the quality may vary - ask to inspect your unit before you check in. Unit 42 was just fantastic!!

It is walking distance (10 Mins) to the nice cafes and resturants at Broadbeach. I also highly recommend the Chang Rai Thai resturant as well!

After reading all the wonderful reviews on trip advisor we were very excited to be staying in such a well appointed establishment. Well how disappointed were we. Holidaying with my husband, brother and sister-in-law we were all looking forward to a lovely superior beach front apartment. The apartment was beach front but that was the only beautiful thing about it. We have all travelled through out the world and 4 1/2 star apartments are usually that 4 1/2 star. When we complained about it on Sunday we were told no one has ever complained about that room 24.In the main bedroom the queen sized bed had been broken and then reinforced with a steel side. The ensuite had hair and mould in the shower and a railing missing on the door which left holes in the door. The tiles throughout the whole apartment were full of fluff and dirt. The second bedroom (after paying $22 to have two king singles made into a queen bed) had a faulty light that when you turned on would flicker all the time. The kitchen after spending 30 minutes to look for the lights that where hidden in the cupboard was very old and tacky. The oven and fridge were all rusty. Lucky I sat on the kitchen chair and realised that it was broken before someone seriously was hurt. We reported it to the weekend manager and was told oh no not that chair again and the handy man would fix it. We never saw him.The lamp in the loungeroom was stuck together with duct tape. Only one light in the loungeroom was working. We all understand that its not the managers fault but they should seriously get the owners in of the apartment to update the whole apartment and not just a lick of paint. Oh that was falling off anyway. I am so sorry to be making such a bad review but what we thought we paid for definatly was not what we got.

Just one clarification for you - our property is rated 4 star and not 4 1/2 star and it was unfortunate that you were disappointed with the apartment you stayed in. When you came down to voice your concerns and I mentioned that other guests had not been unhappy with the apartment - this was certainly a fact - many guests have been very happy with that particular apartment and actually do request it and as I mentioned to you everyone has a different opinion/expectation. I would like to address your issues one by one - the main bed does have a reinforced steel side plate which normally is not something that is even noticed - this bed was damaged by another guest when it was quite new and was repaired this way to ensure future guests do not suffer any discomfort - I agree it is noticeable if you look for it but it is not at all visible unless you remove the covers and to date we have not had any other reports about it and it obviously has not hindered the comfort of past guests. I have to say I was surprised with your comment re the mould/hair/fluff/dirt as we do pride ourselves in the way our cleaning staff operate and if the light was not functioning properly in the bedroom it would have been replaced if you had mentioned that. I agree it is quite a nuisance that the light switches are hidden in a cupboard in the kitchen and I will rectify that with a sign. I agree there is a very small line of rust at the bottom edge of the oven, however, the fridge is fine. I do apologise for the broken chair - I did say to you that I would have it fixed by our handyman and I totally forgot about it - it has now been repaired. Re the lamp that was stuck together with duct tape - this was necessary as we did not have time to do a proper repair prior to your arrival, otherwise you would not have had a lamp in the living room and it was hidden under the shade so really was not obvious. This has now been properly fixed. If there was only one light working in the lounge room I do apologise for that, however, one phone call would have rectified that. I am sorry that these issues caused you such anguish but everything is fixable and we are here to help rectify any problems if notified - unless of course I forget - once again I apologise for that chair. I think your expectation may have been considerably higher and we certainly are not 5 or 6 star - we do, however, provide a very clean, comfortable property and as you said yourself you came to us because of all our wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor.

A perfect choice for family of 4 in a spacious 2-Bedroom apartment that comes with a fully equipped kitchen. Nice balcony facing the Pacific Ocean. Location was ideal as it is away from the touristy spots but walking distance to Surfer Paradise and Broad Beach. Public transportation is at your doorstep and importantly the beach is front of the apartment. Michael, Lynn and Sally were superb in making our holiday impeccable even taking the trouble to drive us to Broad Beach for Surfing lesson. Great Hospitality!

We stayed here for 14 nights in a one bedroom superior apartment, the views were fantastic! The apartment itself was well laid out which made for an enjoyable stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and having a basement carpark was handy for us with shopping etc. We were right on the beach and only a short stroll along the beach sees you in the heart of Surfers. In the opposite direction about 2 minutes away were a conveniently situated cafe, bottle store, fish 'n' chip shop and convenience store which was handy. We would thoroughly recommend these apartments and we look forward to visiting again next year.

Hi Damien. Yes the bungalow are at 45 degrees to the beach front and directly in front of the pool. We had 4 boys sleep in the upper bedroom (4 single beds) while my wife and I stayed in the master bedroom the floor below. Slept comfortably, c/w air-conditoning. Breakfast vouchers were handed out to us for one breakfast at a nearby restaurant. Hope this helps.
