Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fabulous location right in the middle of surfers paradise, walking distance to EVERYTHING.

Great pool and slide for the kids.

Rooms are dated but were very clean and tidy.

The double bed in the main room was very comfortable but the fold out sofa would only be good for children not adults.

Apart from normal wear and tear of a building that age can’t fault it for the price.

I would definitely stay there again!

The pool was nice and the jacuzzi/sauna on the roof were nice too, even though the jacuzzi was 40 degrees which was hard to get into.
The room was very dated, there were 2 dead cockroaches on the floor and we had a lizard running round. The sofa bed was covered in dirty marks which put me off sleeping on it. The carpet could have done with a deep clean too. The fridge was also dirty. We were supposed to stay for 2 nights but left after one. The window rail had a cigarette stump in it and were not double glazed so was very very noisy at night as our room was literally on the first floor over the main road

Wr stayed here for a whole week and got better than what we were expecting. Perfect location, just a ross cavill avenue! River views and a short walk to the beach. The pool was clean, receptionists were efficient and the jacuzi in the bath was added bonus.

Hi Amber - thanks so much for your review and feedback - it was a pleasure to have you stay with us and we were delighted to read that we exceeded your expectations. We agree our location is ideal with a short walk to everything! Our sunken spa baths are popular as is our pool and the water slide. We do hope to welcome you back to Tiki Hotel in the near future.

I don't really do reviews but don't believe any one star reviews, stayed 7 nights and for the price this place can't be beaten.

A few tiles to be glued on pool, a few replacement pool chairs but otherwise no issues, the location and views can't be beaten.

Clean and towels got replaced every 2nd day, unlimited wifi, plenty of hot water, air conditioner and a couple fans.

No issues with staff and they assisted when asked.

Pool open 8 till 8

What more do people want.

Don't ever go here! The place is very dirty and unhygienic. Bed bugs mould. The spa is very aged. They put this horrible tape so u don't slip but then u can't enjoy the spa. They refresh the rooms ever two days but don't actually refresh it with shampoo toilet paper milk etc. Ull have to ask them everyday for it. The lift was out of order so lots of wait to get up and down. You have to paid an additional fee just to park there totally ridiculous. The place doesn't look like the photos at all there taken about 20 yrs ago. Terrible place. Avoid avoid

Location is great, close to the centre, beach and public transport

Hotel is outdated. Don't know where to start, to be honest. Hard to find something positive...

Staff are friendly, doing their best.
Rooms get serviced ones a week, if you are staying more than a week, otherwise no service at all, you have to take out your rubbish and ask for towels and so on.
Said free WiFi on website, been asked $14 for some gigabytes, didn't bother, used mobile internet.

Pool is very small, and gets deep(2.48 meters deep) after about 2 metres shallow end, dandenong for small kids.

Please make yourself a favour and don't come here especially with family.

I went here for a night with my daughter and the first room was dated with peeling walls, broken fixtures, toilet paper on the smoke alarms and several pieces of laminate peeling. We were moved into a superior suite at no extra charge which was identical to the first room except less damage, a little cleaner and a view of the river and pool . The pool area was dated and filthy and we wouldn't swim in there, there were several drunk guests at the pool so we avoided it. The doors to the bedroom weren't able to be closed as they were off the rails. The front door had a crack as if its been kicked in, we were woken several times due to guests arriving home late, it echo's so much. The television stations were hit and miss not in signal and the air-conditioning wasn't working. My daughter and I were going to bunker in and have a movie not which wasn't possible. Just a heads up for any families that were looking to stay here. I certainly wouldn't allow young children to touch the carpet or walls etc. Also the foyer wreaks of burboun. In the morning I was stripping the bed and a delightful hair was under the sheet and the mattress protector had yellow staining. So yeah, not great.

Rude, charged for parking, it was dirty- lights didn’t work and we felt unsafe. Way too noisy. Needs to be knocked down! Pool was not heated and located near smoking area which is not good for young kids. Codes change as it’s quite unsafe. Cups for coffee date back to the 70s so small not worth making. Not enough blankets or toilet paper. The noise was too loud to enjoy your stay.
Much nicer places to stay!!!

Just checked in and I’m already pretty disappointed. We booked this place thinking there would be free wifi, which it said there is- but they only give you 1 gb a day- then you need to pay. Hotel should clarify this on their page. False advertising.

Everything else is fine... so far. Bad first impression though. In 2020, if you’re staying at a hotel, wifi should be free. This is not 2000- even dial up would be better.

Walk in walk out kind of room, which is exactly what we had to do tonight.

Yes we did book with short notice so we probably ended up with the last of the rooms, however $402.00 for a basic 2 bed unit for one night with a single park is up there.

The whole hotel exterior we found seedy, which matched the interior of our unit.
