Fabulous location right in the middle of surfers paradise, walking distance to EVERYTHING.

Great pool and slide for the kids.

Rooms are dated but were very clean and tidy.

The double bed in the main room was very comfortable but the fold out sofa would only be good for children not adults.

Apart from normal wear and tear of a building that age can’t fault it for the price.

I would definitely stay there again!

Wr stayed here for a whole week and got better than what we were expecting. Perfect location, just a ross cavill avenue! River views and a short walk to the beach. The pool was clean, receptionists were efficient and the jacuzi in the bath was added bonus.

This is our 3rd visit to Tiki Village over the past twenty years. We have been timeshare owners since since 1989 and our first resort was Beach House in Coolangatta. At the time Beach House was managed by George Tawaf who founded Classic Holidays the current managers of Tiki Village and many other timeshare resorts in the surrounding area.
Right up front lets say that we had a very enjoyable 7 day stay at Tiki Village although there are some significant concerns about the management that I will deal with later.
The only significant change we noticed at Tiki over the past 20 years was the change of fitted single beds in the lounge to a pull over sofa bed. This is a great improvement and greatly enhances the lounge comfort especially if only a couple is staying on site. The units are not particularly large although the bedroom is more than generous in its sizing. I am advised through a recent newsletter from Classic that all the units have over recent years now been upgraded and they intend now to start upgrading all the bathrooms. The current bathroom has a shower over a spa bath.
The unit size is increased by having a fllor to ceiling mirror on one of the walls. Many times over the week we were fooled into thinking that the view out the windows covered more than we could see. It is a very effective illusion.
Security in the building is reasonably tight as many undesirables lurk around the streets of Surdfers Paradise especially in the early hours of the morning. Key codes are required for access into the building, garage and roof top spa.
The staff throughout our stay were very friendly and helpful.
There are a few organised events for owners and guests and the first of these is the meet and great down at the pool followed by a meal at The Surfers Paradise RSL. The meal is extremely good value as the resort has negotiated the cost of meals at approx 50% of normal price just for the Monday night. The are a few other events on offer at reduced costs. It does pay to check out the daily website offers for events/specials/bargains around the Gold Coast for a few weeks before arriving as there are some very deals to be had. Coupons in the many tourist publications also offer several bargains, many better than the on site tourist desk can provide.
Because the units are so small it is not possible to have laundry facilities within the unit ans these are provide on floors 3,5 and 7. It costs $3 for the washing machine ( 32 mins for a cycle) and $2 for the dryer ( 60 mins cycle). No washing detergent is provided apart from 1 sachet on arrival. One has to provide one's own detergent or purchase from reception. Our suggestion if staying for a week is to purchase detergent from local supermarket - much cheaper.
Facilities on site: A large spa bath (Jaccuzzi) on the roof. Lovely and hot and has bubbles on demand. On first floor is a heated swimming pool and slide. It is not a large pool but falls away quickly to over 8ft deep at its deepest point. There are gas barbeques around the pool surrounds. Inside on the first floor is a small pool table, pinball and vending machines.
Room facilities: a small flat screen TV is available with a plethora of channels including all the major sports channels. Australia TV covers most of the major sports events around the world so there is no need to mis out on any of ones favourite sports.
The kitchen is small but functional and it is here that I have my greatest complaints which I have raised independantly with Classic. They provide a dishwasher but again no detergent but will sell it to you separately. There is no dish tray, no coffee plunger or perculator. Small things I know but this is the 21st century and life moves on except that Classic seems stuck in the last century. Come on Classic Management you cahrge plenty for maintenance and management fees, time you got real and provided first class service.
Timeshare touts: Be prepared to have your holiday interrupted by Classic Holiday Timeshare touts who will attempt to bribe you into attending one of thir timeshare presenations. This practice in my view to totally inexcusable and guests should not be bothered by other factions of Classics holiday companies and there are many. One of such companies is Classic Holiday Club or Classic Escapes as it is now called. There are many posts about the actions of this company on the Gold Coast forums.
Tiki is very close to the centre of Surfers Paradise and despite its shortfall provides a grea base for a Gold Coast holiday. We were on the 8th floor and although we could haer street noise it proved not to be a nuisance.
Would we stay at Tiki again - Yes we would but we would bring a supply of appropraite detergents etc as we dont see Classic changing anytime soon.

I went here for a night with my daughter and the first room was dated with peeling walls, broken fixtures, toilet paper on the smoke alarms and several pieces of laminate peeling. We were moved into a superior suite at no extra charge which was identical to the first room except less damage, a little cleaner and a view of the river and pool . The pool area was dated and filthy and we wouldn't swim in there, there were several drunk guests at the pool so we avoided it. The doors to the bedroom weren't able to be closed as they were off the rails. The front door had a crack as if its been kicked in, we were woken several times due to guests arriving home late, it echo's so much. The television stations were hit and miss not in signal and the air-conditioning wasn't working. My daughter and I were going to bunker in and have a movie not which wasn't possible. Just a heads up for any families that were looking to stay here. I certainly wouldn't allow young children to touch the carpet or walls etc. Also the foyer wreaks of burboun. In the morning I was stripping the bed and a delightful hair was under the sheet and the mattress protector had yellow staining. So yeah, not great.

Location is great, close to the centre, beach and public transport

Hotel is outdated. Don't know where to start, to be honest. Hard to find something positive...

Staff are friendly, doing their best.
Rooms get serviced ones a week, if you are staying more than a week, otherwise no service at all, you have to take out your rubbish and ask for towels and so on.
Said free WiFi on website, been asked $14 for some gigabytes, didn't bother, used mobile internet.

Pool is very small, and gets deep(2.48 meters deep) after about 2 metres shallow end, dandenong for small kids.

Please make yourself a favour and don't come here especially with family.

Just checked in and I’m already pretty disappointed. We booked this place thinking there would be free wifi, which it said there is- but they only give you 1 gb a day- then you need to pay. Hotel should clarify this on their page. False advertising.

Everything else is fine... so far. Bad first impression though. In 2020, if you’re staying at a hotel, wifi should be free. This is not 2000- even dial up would be better.

Don't ever go here! The place is very dirty and unhygienic. Bed bugs mould. The spa is very aged. They put this horrible tape so u don't slip but then u can't enjoy the spa. They refresh the rooms ever two days but don't actually refresh it with shampoo toilet paper milk etc. Ull have to ask them everyday for it. The lift was out of order so lots of wait to get up and down. You have to paid an additional fee just to park there totally ridiculous. The place doesn't look like the photos at all there taken about 20 yrs ago. Terrible place. Avoid avoid

Worst experience ever , pool area sat on chair the legs broke , as the pool furniture is so old and sun damaged it should be binned. Spa bath doesn’t blow bubbles sucks in very dangerous. The rooms are filthy. Looks as tho never been cleaned. The manger Michael is very creepy , walks into your private room without notice. When he thinks no one is in the room. He scared children when parents ain’t near by. The hotel is run down and disgusting. The pictures they advertise are nothing like the hotel. The place needs to be closed down. Will be reporting this property to authorities. As it doesn’t meet safety guidelines. The place has to be on Australia’s worst hotels to exist.

I have travelled extensive parts of the world including remote parts of Asia and this is the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. The linen was clean but every surface was dirty with even a bloody finger mark on the fridge. I don’t mind that it is an old building and the decor is tired but there is no excuse for this state of hygiene.

The entire apartment was filthy and old. Especially the shower! Which I’ve attached photos of! Unbelievable. Bed was uncomfortable and had no blanket? Parking is an additional $20 on top of booking. I woke up to a huge cockroach crawling on me and realised the room had multiple of them, I packed my bags and drove an hour home in the middle of the night.
