We very much enjoyed our 10 night stay at Artique. Booked a 1 bedroom partial view using Hotels.ca. After a long flight we arrived and were unable to check in (it was 8:30 am). Thankfully our apartment was ready shortly after noon. Reception gave us the keys to our one bedroom (#1701) and our partial view was fabulous. We had two balconies, one overlooking the river and for the most part was in the shade which was perfect for us. The second balcony looked to the beach and ocean. We enjoyed many breakfast and a couple dinners on the shaded balcony. The apartment had a queen bed, bathroom with a tub/shower combination and a kitchen with cook top, oven and fridge plus microwave. It was fairly well equipped. There was also a washer and dryer in the closet along with a deep washing sink which was great. Welcome paks included dishwasher soap, washing machine soap, and liquid dish soap that was replenished at reception if needed.

Staff were friendly, helpful and the building is well managed and very clean. The parking below the building is easy and convenient, and the Artique is 2 blocks from the beach. A great location. Areas of improvement would be a stronger wi fi signal as at times the signal was very poor. This should be upgraded. Also even though it is a 1 bedroom a place setting and glasses for 6 would be better than 4 so you wouldn’t have to run the dishwasher so often. Another improvement would be a personal room safe for guest’s use. Also, 2 soft pillows and 2 firm pillows on the bed would give guests have a choice rather than having 4 firm pillows which we found uncomfortable. Overall though we enjoyed our stay and would consider returning.

I stayed here with my family for 3 nights just before Christmas and the accomodation was a delight. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment on the 20th floor which was a nice size and included a sofa bed in the lounge. The bathroom was very clean and functional.

The laundry facilities came in very handy and the views from the balcony were split between the ocean on the left and the river on the right.

The beach was a very short walk away and the apartment was very close to the shops and main areas. The pool area, sauna and steam room are very well maintained and provide a nice relaxing environment. I'm sure we will stay here again.

Great resort, has everything you would want. Pool was nice and clean, a little cold though. Spa was large and a great temperature for winter nights. Staff upgraded us to a corner suite which was huge. 3 toilets, 2 showers and a bath with an ensuite in both bedrooms. Beds were very comfortable. European laundry was very convenient with a washer and dryer. We had 2 balconies with great views, a partial ocean view and city view, both looked great. There was a large couch and dining table, plenty of room for all of us with a second lounge area. There were two tvs, one in the double bedroom and one in the lounge. The one in the lounge had a very large tv connected to foxtel and a casting device so we could cast streaming services from our phone. Theres also a stereo. There was a great bbq area we used one night but we went into lockdown due to covid while we were there so couldnt use it again., luckily theres a stove, oven and grill in our room. More dishes would have been nice, had to wash them constantly which was a bit annoying when we didn’t have enough dishes for the dishwasher. Its a short 2 minute walk to the beach, 10 minute walk to some shops. Underground carpark was great but the parks are quite tight. Staff were great, but left early often but this may have been due to the lockdown. You get dome basics when you check in, dishwasher powder, toilet paper etc but will need to buy more for longer stays as they are considered ‘self contained’ you can buy more from them but its cheaper at the supermarket. I would definitely stay here again

Lovely self contained apartment, 50m to the beach and a short walk to Surfers' main strip.
Check in was very efficient and the staff were so friendly.
Free car parking below the resort for guests.
Our apartment was very clean and bright, with an abundance of mirrors! The balcony was particularly good, and we spent a lot of time sitting outside and admiring the views from the 25th floor.
Kitchen is well equipped for simple meal preparation and includes a dishwasher and European style laundry (top loader and tumble dryer). Bring some extra detergent and dishwasher provisions as the welcome pack only has a couple of sachets included.
BMD Northcliffe SLSC is a 5 minute walk and has fantastic food and views.
The pool area looks great, although the pool is in shade most of the day so it's pretty cold - the spa makes up for it though, it's very warm.
Auto ignition barbecues are free for guests and were well used by family groups.
Onsite gym with lots of cardio equipment.
We loved our stay at Artique and will certainly be back!

We got a great deal on the two bedroom superior ocean view room. It was MASSIVE!!! So much space and the view was breathtaking from the ocean to the hinderland, full 180 degree views! The pool was heated which the kids loved despite being a little nippy when getting out served them well. The location was fantastic, close to Surfers and Northcliffe Tram stop just around the corner to take you straight to Pacific Fair. Highly recommend to anyone, I know we didn’t want to leave!

We travelled here in May 2022, to what we thought was a 4.5 star hotel. Once we arrived at our check in time of 2pm, our room was not ready, so we had to leave and come back. When we finally got to our room, the configuration we had requested was incorrect which was another muck around. We were only advised on arrival that there would be no housekeeping and it was all self service and self contained. They gave us no dishwashing liquid or dishwasher powder but expected us to clean all our dishes? They gave us minimal toilet paper, one roll, this is barely any considering we were staying a week! The bathroom is so dated, I looked back afterwards and realised there is no photos of the bathroom on their advertisement and now I know why! Would not stay here again.

We had a few nights at this beautiful spot. We were fortunate enough to secure a superior 2 bedroom oceanview room and it was sensational! It was very clean and tidy, modern and had a full kitchen. Washer, dryer and ducted air con. Parking was ample. Plenty of seating for our family in the lounge room. The views were spectacular. The weather was atrocious but because of where Artique is situated it was easy and quick to grab and an Uber to the heart of Surfers or Broadbeach. Highly recommend and we will be back!

We went to the Gold Coast for 1 week . Amazing experience with the family . The reception front desk made my experience a happy one as our room wasn’t ready the young man offered to keep our bags and ring us when our room ready. They were very polite and friendly and full of information.
Once we arrived to our room my 2 children were jumping up and down with excitement once they saw everything.
Everything beautiful nice and clean .
The place was looking. Big Balcony, beautiful kitchen , and very spacious
Looking at booking again soon

We recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at the Artique in Surfers Paradise and we felt compelled to share our abysmal encounter. This establishment claims to offer accommodation, but what I experienced was nothing short of a nightmare.

Upon entering our room, we were immediately struck by the sorry state of the property. The furniture, rusty and mismatched, revealed the neglect this place had endured. The dining table and fridge in the room were filthy, holes in the bedroom wall further added to the overall sense of dilapidation.

Adding to the misery, the entire building seemed to be trapped in a time warp, with outdated furnishings that screamed neglect. The furniture was worn, rusty and outdated and the decor seemed to be a relic from the '80s. The over bath shower was more of a dribble than a shower and would be inaccessible for any elderly or slight mobility impaired person. The apartment’s ambiance felt more like a cheap and neglected backpackers rather than 4 star accomodation.

To make matters worse, with one elevator being long term out of service there was only one functioning elevator in the entire property. we waited 15 minutes to catch the elevator with it eventually arriving dangerously full of people leaving us with no choice but to descend 5 floors via the fire escape concrete stairwell, a less-than-ideal solution, especially for safety concerns or elderly guests. The lack of maintenance and the broken facilities only amplified the feeling of being stuck in a forsaken place.

In my attempt to address these issues with the hotel manager, as well as complaining at the hotel demanding they skim $200 off my credit card to cover “any damages”, I was met with sheer arrogance and rudeness. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, the manager, Josh, dismissively retorted, "If you don't like it, you can leave, but I will not give you a refund”, he then walked away. I felt intimidated and shaken by the experience. His own staff witnessed this and expressed their embarrassment and apologies to my partner and I. This response was not only unprofessional but showcased a complete disregard for basic customer service.

We stayed one night then moved accomodation at significant cost, but that was a better option than staying at this shambles of a hotel with a very rude manager and destroying our holiday.

I strongly advise anyone considering a stay at the Artique in Surfers Paradise to rethink their choice. The prices do not align with the deplorable conditions, and the disrespectful attitude of the manager only adds insult to injury. Save yourself the trouble and choose accommodations that value cleanliness, comfort, and customer service, because the Artique certainly falls short on all fronts. We wish we could give it zero stars.

Dear DJ, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our resort. We sincerely appreciate all feedback and take any concerns raised by our guests very seriously. Following your review, we conducted a detailed investigation, including reviewing CCTV footage and engaging in discussions with our staff. Our findings indicate that during your interaction regarding the $200 credit card pre-authorisation, a standard procedure clearly stated in our booking terms and conditions, there appeared to be a significant level of distress on your part. We understand that such situations can be stressful, and it is never our intention to cause discomfort to our guests. Our resort manager, in their effort to uphold our policies, aimed to handle the situation with the utmost professionalism and calmness, explaining the necessity and standard nature of this security measure in the industry. We realise that emotions can sometimes influence our perceptions and responses. It seems that the frustration experienced during this incident may have impacted your overall view of the resort, leading to comments that might not fully reflect the usual standards and experiences we strive to offer. Please know that we are committed to clear communication and understanding. The security bond is essential for protecting the interests of our unit owners and ensuring the safety and comfort of all our guests. We regret that this policy led to any dissatisfaction on your part. When we first entered the corridors to our room, it had an odd smell, including the room smelling off and too strongly of cleaning products. When we first opened the door to our room, there was a pair of dirty nude underwear, very disgusting. One of our shower doors broke with the hinges. The emergency stop button didn’t work at the spa (the spa is never hot, we always had to leave due to the temperature being so low). Majority of the bathroom towels were smelly, wasn’t enjoyable after a shower. The receptionists’ were quite rude as well, making our stay unenjoyable. Lastly, our wifi didn’t work, even with the password. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
