Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Two night stay on fifth floor, room 504A. Great price for one bedroom appt but you get what you pay for.

No en-suite as bathroom separate, Bed could do with an update as too creaky/springy/soft along with pillows.

Pool, spa & sauna were all working. Only one lift working on our stay so sometimes a bit of a wait but did have complimentary underground car parking.

Reception staff friendly and did allow for complimentary 11am checkout. Paid Wifi and does use the older $100bond on card-hold for seven days system on checkin.

On arrival our check in was horrible! The girl told us that our room wasn't ready (which is understandable as we were early), she then continued to speak to me and get things done as if to say "just get out, i hate my job" meanwhile there was another staff member in the lobby sitty down texting.
We went up to our smelly room that did not have one window open or air con on to doscover the coach and floors were that dirty it made you feel a little sick to sit down.
whilst it is cheap and everythung could be overlooked if the staff occasionally smiled or were at reception i can not ever reccommend anyone stay here. All in all it was make do accommodation.
Book a dodgy motel with a cheap price tag, you will probably enjoy it more!

One thing I notice is there's no one in the reception most of the time. I understand if its after 5pm. But in the middle of the afternoon? Ive seen a few traveller waiting outside and unfortunately I had to wait as well because of the said problem. After a long travel all I want to do is go to bed not wait for someone to let me in. But other than that, the room was clean and everything works.

The hotel is beautiful, the outdoor pool area and sauna is perfect for a relaxing day at the hotel. The air con in the room was amazing especially when coming home from a hot and long day at the beach.
Very modern hotel room with lots of room. The couches were theatre lounges that light up which were grouse.
The transport is right at the door step so was so easy to get around and the walk to Cavill Avenue was around 20 minutes.
Overall, amazing experience would definitely recommend.

Stayed here for 4 nights in a studio apartment over the Jan school holiday period. Air con worked great, was a 15-20min walk into main area of Surfers Paradise. Few minutes walk to beach and free car parking was secured underground.
The studio itself was spacious and had a balcony with ocean views. The pool was clean and spa was nice to relax in. I used the sauna once and it worked fine (just needed to wait 20 minutes for it to heat up). For the price, location and services it was great. Only downfall is no free WiFi.

Do yourself a favour and do not stay here! The outside of the hotel looks nice however the rooms are old and rundown. Rooms do not have air-conditioning or heating. There was no blanket on the bed - just a throw that clearly had not been washed. The frame was all ripped and the curtains full of mould. The rooms smelt! The bathroom floor all sticky. The pool water stinks and a sign on it saying that the pool cleaner is broken and its unable to be cleaned properly.

Great place to stay at, very comfortable bed, clean rooms and I especially thought Shardia, the front desk receptionist was very helpful and friendly in helping with any questions or concerns I had.

I will be definitely returning for another holiday as soon as I can.

Thank you for a great stay.

Rick Yesberg.

So, there's no one answering the phone. No one at reception and no way of checking into one's room.
Hopeless.
Went elsewhere and got a refund via Booking.com.
How you can run a hotel and have guests unable to check in is beyond me.

I managed to follow in another guest as you can't get in the lobby without a pass or a code, and sat in the lobby for a half hour waiting for someone to return my call. Never happened.

I've stayed here 4 times. Each time there have been issues, ranging from being booked in one room for 4 nights and then another for the remaining 5 "because that's what I asked for", being told we have a walk in shower for mum who had mobility issues and we weren't in the right room. Mum had to shower in the dirty toilet block next to the pool. Check out dates were wrong, punch ups happening in reception and police coming and going to evict people. Was in a room with no air con in summer but apparently they didn't know the air con was out, but I found details of the people who stayed in that room before me and they confirmed that they reported the air con being broken on their first day there.

But this last trip takes the cake.

I was there just last week. Again stayed for over 7 nights but NEVER got a free room clean (or any other time I've stayed there without jumping up and down). Went to reception to ask Sabrina if I have to book the room clean or if it comes automatically. I wanted to know as I had another holiday booked there in December 2017. A simple question. Sabrina first gave me a mouthful as to why I'm only mentioning this now, then looked at my booking for December (that I already paid a deposit for 6 months earlier AND had a confirmation letter to show the tariff quoted), she told me she cannot and will not honour that tariff and said she would email the owners and find out what they want to charge me. That tariff is the same as what my dad and I paid in January this year! I then went to my room, gave it some thought and realised she can't just cancel a booking because she has now decided she wasn't happy with me questioning her free room clean "policy". I told her I have paid my deposit and have a confirmation letter so it's an agreement. She then proceeded to tell me, in her normal rude tone, that she doesn't care whether I have a confirmation letter of not, she can cancel my booking and will. She didn't bother to give me a corrected tariff, she just cancelled my booking because she had a bee in her bonnet. She then gave me a mouthful as to why I got early check in when I arrived there. Ummmm because the nicer of the two receptionists gave me my key early as YOUR reception closes at 10.30am on a Sunday.

She then told me she needed my credit card to refund me my deposit and when I told her my card is in my room, she closed the reception roller door and told me reception is now closed and "I don't have to argue with you". The next morning I got an email (real professional with spelling mistakes and sounded like someone from China who can't speak English wrote it) that there is no vacancy there for when I wanted to stay in December 2017 and that my deposit had been refunded. Funny, because I got a friend to call them and make an enquiry about a room for the same dates as I was booked in and guess what, plenty to choose from, and their website says they have vacancy too. Make sure you never question anything when Sabrina is on reception, her true colours will shine through.

I spoke with other guests and permanent residents and no-one had a nice thing to say about her.

My bond still hasn't been released, even though they claim it takes 5-7 days.

I always brought family with me and booked 3 rooms when I visited, except the last trip. I recommended this place to everyone. Now I can see that the bad reviews this place has had are true. I've thankfully booked 3 rooms elsewhere for my holiday. Never again will I stay here!

My sister and I are young working professionals and traveled to the Gold Coast for a 5-night holiday as we do multiple times a year. We were told that we would have a room on the 8th floor with beach views and arrived to our 2nd floor room with views of the loud traffic. Upon our after-hours arrival the room reeked overwhelmingly of bleach as it hadn't been washed out of the shower. We let the after hours contact know and no one arrived to rectify the matter so we had to purchase cleaning products in order to stay the night without being gassed. The room could only be described as looking like a hooker's meeting spot with scuffs on the walls, no side tables and uncomfortable spring bedding very low to the floor. We removed the black fleece provided on the bed as it had a suspicious dried white stain and clearly hadn't been washed. Disheartened, we sent an email to admin and went down to discuss early the next morning. We were greeted with an immediately defensive and combative female who accused us of lying on multiple occasions and insinuated we were being 'ridiculous'. In all my stays I have never dealt with more unprofessional and appalling customer service in my life. Upon inspection by the cleaner he confirmed the points made by us and after much ambiguity of the processes and procedures, the woman agreed to give a full refund and we checked out to find other accommodation. We received the refund (minus the initial booking fee) but I would strongly recommend anyone against staying in this accommodation.
