Located in the heart of Surfers Paradise, Mantra Crown Towers is celebrated for its excellent location, offering easy access to beaches and attractions. While some guests appreciate the beachside atmosphere and the spaciousness of the rooms, the hotel often receives criticism for outdated decor and a lack of thorough cleanliness.
Despite the hotel boasting desirable pool facilities, the overall value for money comes into question, as visitors cite discrepancies in room quality and maintenance. Service experiences at this hotel are mixed, with staff receiving both commendation and critique.

Detailed Reviews
Started with room not being ready at check in time and told to come back later. Then we were told the Foxtel wasn’t working nor was the gym the spa or the sauna which was the whole reason we booked here so we didn’t have to leave the faculty and also the restaurants were closed as well so our weekend away without kids where we planned to just stay in and watch tv and eat was not happening. We were offered free Wfi and a late check out which we didn’t need anyway. Staff was very limited and on skeleton scale we were told which isn’t our problem when we pay hard earned mi way to go away once a year. Rooms were tidy and relaxing. Location is great and we would like to come back again with our daughter to utilise the outdoor swim area with her but skeptical of service. Indoor pool is heated to a great temp but really needs a clean around the tile edges it’s very dirty. All In all I would Say an average stay

We stayed for 5 nights. Having read many reviews about the rooms being a mix of outdated and renovated we were a little disappointed to be in an outdated room. The size and layouts of the room itself was great. We had a very spacious 2 bedroom apartment with 2 bathrooms which for a family was fantastic. The room itself was clean however was very outdated. The facilities at the resort are good whilst again being on the older side. The smaller pool with the pirate ship was lovely and a good temperature and kids had fun. The beautiful lagoon pool however was freezing! Such a waste. If it was heated the older kids could play more in there leaving the indoor heated pool and hot tubs to younger kids. The pool kiosk serves good value food however only takes cash which makes no sense being next to a pool in 2022 after a pandemic when no one carries cash anymore. Service itself at the desk was average at best. Note these are serviced apartments not a hotel so even with a 5 night stay we were expected to pay for clean towels in our room and pool towels. So BYO pool towels and wash/dry in your room if your don't want to pay.
To sum up, if you're not fussed with a modern room and facilities then Mantra is worth the visit especially with a family. If you want any service, modern facilities and room then this isn't the place for you.

Decided to have a long weekend getaway with friends and the 3 bedroom apartment at Mantra Crown Towers Surfers paradise was perfect for us. The apartment was large, bright and had magnificent ocean views which allowed us to watch the whales from the balcony. The apartment had 3 good sized bedrooms with main with ensuite and large bathroom to service other bedrooms. The kitchen had everything you needed and there was a large dining table which we used for a couple of meals. The hotel had a poolside kiosk which opened for breakfast at 7am and served meals thru to 2pm. We had breakfast every day and the food was good quality and excellent value for money. Service was also friendly and efficient. The hotel also had a day spa in the lobby area which was very convenient for us as we planned to have some Spa treatments during our mini vacation. The spa treatments were also high quality and everyone enjoyed them immensely. Although not all the facilities were open due to convid the indoor and outdoor pools were. The indoor pool was heated and was a reasonable size allowing you to swim laps. Everything was very clean and tidy with appropriate hand sanitizer stations available. The hotel location is perfect as it is close to light rail station ( pretty much out the front of hotel) and only a short walk to the mall. Car parking was security under the building and was complimentary . There was also a small visitors carpark outside. Plenty of restaurants nearby and the beach one block away with a direct walkway across the road. The manager was very helpful and provided plenty of information. We had a great stay and everyone was impressed with the hotel. We plan to return soon

The apartment we stayed in was not as modern as what is on the website so very misleading. Main issues mould on shower doors and bathroom sink tap ware. It was bearable if you just don’t look too closely at anything especially as it looks like it hasn’t had a deep clean ever. The beds were sunken and almost going to collapse. I had trouble sleeping due to the bad odour of sleeping in a bed well past it’s use by date. The couch was also very worn out. Sitting on it was not pleasant and smelt like old sweat and chlorine. TVs were tiny and the size of a computer screen. The kitchen at least has very modern appliances like Samsung and Breville so I was happy cooking with these.
The only positive were the pools. The indoor pool is heated nicely. The slide is awesome for the kids. The outdoor pool has a lovely beach. Kids loved swimming to the cave between the bridges. The kiosk lady is an absolute gem.
Bring your own towels as they charge $2.50 per towel that you return on check out.

The pool and location is great for families, however for over $5,000 for a 6 night stay in a three bedroom apartment we were otherwise pretty disappointed. The check in on 2 January was nothing short of a disaster. We didn't get into our room until after 5pm, and while delays happen and were okay when a delay was initially communicated, there was no indication on timing or updates on timing available when questioned which lead to a frustrating experience. There were multiple groups and families all waiting in the foyer, children sleeping on the floor after early flights in. I've honestly never experienced anything like it. We were not even offered some water while we waited. The desk was understaffed and I felt for the team working but it was quite an odd start to a holiday.
The room was spacious, and updated but not clean. I cleaned the shower and bath again before using. The beds and pillows were bad.
The rest of the hotel looks abandoned, and all round an odd set up. No breakfast, no bar to get a drink, have to pay for your pool towels etc. For the money we paid, I wouldn't stay again.
The pool is the saviour, and it did provide a lot of fun for our kids so I am thankful for that.

After reading mixed reviews I made the mistake of taking a chance and booked 4 nights here. We drew the short straw and were given room 1706. FYI this is not one of the modern refurbished 2 bedrooms as pictured on the Mantra website. This would have been fine had it been throughly and properly cleaned! The drain in the laundry and bathtub gave out a foul smell. The bathrooms were not cleaned properly - slimy shower floors, filthy screens & mould on the shower doors. Curtains in the living area had stains of goodness knows what & mould, and clothes from previous guests left in the dryer & the kettle was filthy. And to top it off the doona in main bedroom was soiled with blood and other stains!! Absolutely putrid! When I called reception to report these things not so much as an apology, I asked to be moved to another room but was told no availability despite the website showing otherwise. Instead the housekeeping manager was sent up to have a look and I had to point everything out. Their standards of cleanliness are so low, you’d think the room would have been properly cleaned prior to checking guests in. They got rid of the smell from the drains & removed the sheer curtain that had mould but they could not replace the stained curtains so that stayed for the duration of our stay unfortunately. The bathrooms were apparently cleaned again but still did not feel they were cleaned properly.
It cost $2.50 each for pool towels for the duration of your stay. Parking is free but not allocated and scattered amongst private spots. TVs are small but had Foxtel. They are not smart TVs so bring a chrome-cast to stream Netflix etc. The only positive I can say is it is in a good location, close to Tram stop and walking distance to Cavill ave. And the restaurant located next door, Chiangmai Thai was great. Overall a very disappointing stay not worth the money I paid especially if the room has not been refurbished or cleaned properly. Book elsewhere or demand another room if you’re given keys to 1706. Would not stay here again.

Upon checking in, we discovered that the ensuite bathroom had not been appropriately cleaned; there was broken glass in and around the bath, used soap on the soap holder. The shower screen had soap scum and build-up on the glass and mould on the floors. At any time, this would be unacceptable, but during a pandemic, one would think that bathrooms would be cleaned properly.
The TV was not programmed to pick up any signal, and so maintenance was called to try to fix it.
The washing machine did not work; far from ideal when travelling with young children. We chose to stay in this kind of accommodation specifically for the ability to cook meals and clean our clothes. So this was very disappointing.
The block-out curtains in both bedrooms had holes in them, making it impossible to keep the rooms dark.

I initially booked a two bedroom Seaview apartment, upon arrival (we were early) our apartment wasn’t going to be ready until 3. We were given an upgrade to a 3 bedroom (huge) apartment with spectacular views of the ocean and city.
The apartment was fabulous, all three bedrooms had air conditioning and TVs. Fans also in every room. Two huge bathrooms, the kids had one and we had the other. A huge walk in wardrobe which was handy. The kitchen was very well equiped with a double fridge with water and ice descender.
Overall the unit was very modern and comfortable. Huge leather couch to rest on when we were there.
The recreational amenities, pools and spas were beautiful. Went for a swim at least twice a day.
The cafe situated at the pool was fabulous. Friendly staff and beautiful food. We had breakfast by the pool twice.
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Secure parking underneath.
Centrally located, could walk anywhere. We hired scooters twice from hire shop across the road, they were great fun. Tram station directly outside making a short trip down to Pacific Fair for the day.
This is our second stay here and we absolutely love it! Highly recommend for families who don’t want to get in the car everyday. Lay back and relax by the pools or short walk to cafes, restaurants and beach.

We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment in June 2022, initial reception was not pleasing but the room was spacious and had washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, full sized fridge, oven and a microwave.
We were able to fully utilize these to minimize expenses outside. But we had to buy basic stuff like salt and pepper and even oven mitts.
These are non-serviced apartments, for the 4 nights we stayed the room was not cleaned after the initial clean-up which was OK.
We were told additional tea/coffee packets are complementary but extra towels would cost a few dollars each.
There were some renovation works going at the level above us (I think) during day time for most of the days we stayed, and it was pretty annoying and loud. It may be one time thing but I've chosen the noise level as 'loud' in my rating here due to that.
But we would consider staying here when we come to GC again as it was good value for money specially because we booked early.

Lots to love about the Mantra Crown Towers. We were up on the 34th floor (north side) and the views were breathtaking. Due to some very late flight changes, we arrived much earlier than expected and we were delighted to be told that our room was available for immediate check in. The pool facilities were great for our three little ones and they especially loved the pirate ship slide. Our room was spacious and comfortable. A few minor suggestions: cash only at the poolside kiosk is really inconvenient. I never carry cash around, so didn't use the kiosk as a result. Would have been great to have a coffee shop or something in the foyer too - so much unused space there. It's crying out for a restaurant. Also, we had to go hunting to figure out how to access the guest services information. Would be helpful to have this as a QR code visible somewhere in the room. Lastly, we only had air con in one of the bedrooms. Given how much we paid for the accommodation we would have thought a fully airconditioned apartment would have been a given. Made for some uncomfortable nights of sleep. However, aside from these minor frustrations we really loved our stay. The location of the Mantra is just perfect, right near a flagged beach and the tram stop. We'll be back!
