Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very disappointed with the hotel and the stay, I will never ever stay or recommend this place to anyone. Both my partner and I weren't too impressed. What was right about this place, well nothing to be honest. From the moment we arrived at the hotel we have had problems. For a hotel not to provide room service, clean the room on the daily basis and give clients clean towels is a complete joke. And your hotel is rated 4 star ha yeah right.

This hotel provides great amenities for guests such as a pool, spa, sauna, and gym, and is located just outside of Surfers Paradise meaning there is no overcrowding traffic around the place. Great location and friendly staff. However, I found that elevators were poorly kept and lobbies on each floor had a weird unsettling odour. Other than that it was a great stay!

Our room dirty, walls scuffed everywhere, dust and cob webs. Looks like it hadn't been cleaned properly in a long time. The bathroom was terrible didnt look like it been cleaned at all the basin was dirty and stained and cracked and hasnt been replaced. The shower had hairs in it and mould/scum build up on the bottom of the glass. I mentioned to the receptionist after checking in that the cleanliness was lacking and all she said was I'll pass it on to house keeping for next time. After I explained the bathroom. There's even parts of plaster missing.  It was definitely not worth the money we paid. Emailed the hotel and sent them photos before posting this review and not a single response or acknowledgement. Terrible. Also find it weird how soap is in a pump in the shower but not shampoo or conditioner. But there's a pump attached to the wall above the vanity for shampoo but not soap. Room g007

Only stayed for the weekend but was a nice place, warm comfortable and had a generous room. Stay in the quiet side , the poolside face the main road. The sauna is great and pool refreshing. Five minute walk to the beach. Has an on-site Malaysian restaurant and judging by the Malay people in there must be good.. other bonus is free off-street parking

From the fantastic front office staff who were amazing to the quality of the spa suite … you could find nothing better! Great positioning as it’s far enough away from Cavill Avenue for peace and quiet but close enough to get anywhere by foot, by car or tram. Comfy beds, great amenities and everything was perfect …. one thing though …. don’t forget to bring your own salt! Well done Sovereign!

My child spewed in the toilet and on a towel, and I’ve been charged a carpet cleaning fee because of it. That’s just number 1 reason not to go there, the customer service is TERRIBLE!! The manager has a horrible attitude!! Rorted me for every extra penny they could. Absolutely disgusting, the room was below average. But the customer service is what done it for me!!!! Will always recommend to never go here

Unfortunately I didn't take any photos of the room. As someone who travels a bit for work, I was fine with the accommodation. I don't understand some of the bad review. Yes the building probably needs a little bit of TLC, but as long as it's safe and has a fully functional bathroom, I'm good. Everything else is just a bonus. My dad and I attended the Supercars Gold Coast 500. The room we had was north facing - middle level, views of the beach, main road, and race track. Dad had the main bedroom and I had the sofa bed - neither of us complained about the beds. Bathroom was well stocked and tidy. Kitchen has your basics - mini fridge, microwave, toaster, plates, cutlery, milk and coffee items. Overall a good apartment. I wasn't going to go around and document the wear and tear in the unit. The unit was tidy, clean, secure, and fully functional. We had no issues with the noise in/from the building and surrounds. The two ladies at reception were lovely as anything and extremely helpful. Location: you are close to Surfers Paradise North tram station. Cavill Avenue is about a 10 minute walk. Close enough to everything but far enough from the hustle and bustle of the Gold Coast. The two downsides: 1. We knew this when we booked but parking isn't allocated - first in, best dressed. And given we stayed when there were three events on the GC that weekend - Supercars, Groundwater Music Festival, and WBFF - street parking was packed but we managed to get a spot. 2. The TV in the lounge room didn't have free to air and Google TV was awful to navigate. If those are my only two complaints then I have to say it was a very good stay. We will definitely try and snag this room up again.
