We were very grateful to stay in the Sovereign having previously stayed in poor hostels. The room was clean and well equipped on arrival. Our kitchenette had a fridge, microwave, plates, utensils, and washing up supplies. Most other items come at an extra cost such as milk and toilet roll. Additionally, housekeeping is not included and costs $35 per day which we were not expecting. The hotel is located in a good position with the tram station a few minutes walk away and the beach roughly 6 minute walk away. There is also a river in the opposite direction of the sea which is lovely to watch the sunset over! The pool was clean and relatively quiet though we did visit in early spring. Overall I would stay again and would recommend to a friend.

The apartment was clean and neat within walking distance to SP and transport however there are very few parking spaces, probably only enough to service one level of the 9 floors. You will see many cars circling around the building and it was extremely inconvenient the parking. It would have been nice to have some signage saying park in the apartment hotel next door for a fee of $24 overnight and or hourly rates on top to save the 45 minutes of doing laps. People can be seen dropping off others then parking in nearby streets and walking back in the night. Everything is very basic and kitchen supplies are not enough. No bowls or dinner plates. You’ll need to buy plastic bowls, cups, utensils etc. BYO everything except shampoo conditioners, hair dryer and iron. One or two nights is enough here but any longer would be an inconvenience. There are fees for everything like towels. I don’t mind paying but be upfront or supply them and add the cost on. Even having an option to use the paid carpark next door at a fixed rate would have been easy. Lots of time wasted on searching for parking. Overall comfy bed, clean and comfy furniture in a good location however we did get a newly renovated room compared to others in the photos. Restaurant downstairs is not busy, I would assume due to lack of customer parking.

Nice clean room. Helpful staff. Limited parking and street is paid parking during certain periods. Noise carries very well between rooms.

Good location for access to tram and Surfer's Paradise. No services in the evening, but vending machine in reception.

I travel to GoldCoast every year from the 8 years and this year was worst experience thanks to Sovereign.
The reception staff is rude. I stayed there for 14 nights, and they only send the house keeping once. The one time that the house keeping attended they put the same old bed sheets and didnt change anything.
They did not have a dishwasher, but they expected us to wash the dishes and leave the room spot less when check out.
They only washed 2 plates and put away 2 lunch boxes from the fridge and probably 2 cloth shopping bags from the room to the bin and they charged us $200 for that.
Also to top it off they dont provide allocated parking. It's on first come first serve bases. We didnt get parking as it was always full, so we had to park on the street. Also, all the street parking's are no parking without no parking signs but a solid yellow line which apparently defines no parking.
For all of that she only had to apologize for the bad experience and the parking ticket, but they will not accept our apology for not cleaning the room and charging us another $200. They are all skumms dont waist your money or time on this place.

I have never stayed at a dirtier hotel in my life. I would book an ibis budget over staying here again. The carpet was stained and smelt absolutely horrible. Our room had a bad smell and at times the hallway in our level smelt so bad it made us gag! The halls and walls had half patched holes in the walls everywhere and there was holes in our wardrobe and damage throughout the room. There was mould all through the shower. The air conditioner was gutted and didn’t have a fan inside?
A scam as well is that there is no turn down service. We stayed 9 nights and got fresh towels once! Pool towels are an additional $5 you don’t get any to start with. This isn’t on booking.com or there site btw! I’m not sure what hotel doesn’t do a turn down service but can charge almost $400 a night. We saved for this holiday and our hotel absolutely ruined it. I wish we didn’t spend almost $3k on it.

Very disappointed with the hotel and the stay, I will never ever stay or recommend this place to anyone. Both my partner and I weren't too impressed.
What was right about this place, well nothing to be honest. From the moment we arrived at the hotel we have had problems.
For a hotel not to provide room service, clean the room on the daily basis and give clients clean towels is a complete joke. And your hotel is rated 4 star ha yeah right.

The Hotel apartment have everything you need. Full Kitchen for 4 person, laundry facilities, good water pressure, nice view tho the ocean, free parking indoor, walking distance from a beautiful Beach and good restaurants…For curious travelers, the Hotel is in the middle of two nice cities. 20 minutes from Nosa and the same 20 minutes from Sunshine Coast

Big rooms, lots of space, that’s the Sovereign for you. If I had a cat, I could swing it around by its tail (with its consent, of course) and it still would not have hit the walls. There was space everywhere, the lounge, the bedroom, the bathroom. Although the shower was a little bit on the small side. The bed was comfortable and everywhere was clean.

I had a room that had its balcony overlooking the spa pool, so I could look out and seeing if it was busy, or not. It was in the spa that I actually met people, apart from the lift. There was the couple from Currimundi (a place I had visited) so we connected. There was also the guy, who used the spa as a phone booth, to ring, I guess, his lawyer, as he had an ankle monitor on. I guess they have to be waterproof,

I found the spa and sauna ideal for recuperation after or between walks, which I liked to do on holiday, such as walking half of Surfers beach, on the day of my arrival. The hotel and Surfers in general quiet for this time of the year. I failed to make use of the restaurant this time around, so no comment there.

I gave 2 stars as the room and bathroom was spacious and views were nice.
The big problem was the bed, it was literally like a banana, didn’t matter how you laid you just rolled into the middle and felt lumpy.
Toilet kept running, and no hand rails on the wall to get out the bath/shower.. I felt this was a huge hazard!!
They need to replace the mattress, fix the toilet properly as it’s worn down.
Oh I need to mention the parking, it’s first come otherwise park on any street at your own risk… we ended up a few streets away.
If it wasn’t for the discount I found online it wasn’t worth the full price of accommodation.

This hotel has some pros and cons.

Pros: It's conveniently located within a couple blocks of the beach. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed and pillows were good, and the bathroom and shower were large. The room had views of the ocean, and it was resonably quiet despite being on a main road. There is a big balcony with seating. There is a restaurant and pool and gym, but they are all closed by 9pm.

Cons, parking is limited. The common areas were a bit antiquated and dirty, and the rooms were a bit antiquated. The front desk is unmanned after a certain hour, but there is card key access.

All in all, it was a nice stay and I'd go back.
